When priv-&gt;kms_init() (mdp4_kms_init() / mdp5_kms_init()) fails partway
through, both display drivers already tear their KMS state down via
mdp4_destroy() / mdp5_kms_destroy() before returning the error. The
common error path in msm_drm_init() then runs msm_drm_uninit() -&gt;
msm_drm_kms_uninit(), which tries to destroy the very same KMS a second
time, which causes a use-after-free crash.

Bring MDP4/MDP5 in line with the DPU driver whose dpu_kms_init() doesn't
perform error cleanup on the failure. Let the common path own the
cleanup, instead of freeing the KMS from their error paths.

The crash trace for the reference:

  __lock_acquire from lock_acquire (kernel/locking/lockdep.c:5906 kernel/locking/lockdep.c:5863)
  lock_acquire from touch_wq_lockdep_map (kernel/workqueue.c:4094 (discriminator 1))
  touch_wq_lockdep_map from __flush_workqueue (kernel/workqueue.c:4136)
  __flush_workqueue from msm_drm_kms_uninit (drivers/gpu/drm/msm/msm_kms.c:243 (discriminator 33))

  msm_drm_uninit from msm_drm_init (drivers/gpu/drm/msm/msm_drv.c:184)

<title>drm: Rename struct drm_atomic_state to drm_atomic_commit</title>

The KMS framework uses two slightly different definitions for the state
concept. For a given object (plane, CRTC, encoder, etc., so
drm_$OBJECT_state), the state is the entire state of that object.
However, at the device level, drm_atomic_state refers to a state update
for a limited number of objects.

Thus, drm_atomic_state isn't the entire device state, but only the full
state of some objects in that device. This has been an endless source of
confusion and thus bugs.

We can rename the drm_atomic_state structure to drm_atomic_commit to
make it less confusing.

This patch was created using:

rg -l drm_atomic_state | \
	xargs sed -i 's/drm_atomic_state/drm_atomic_commit/g; s/drm_atomic_commit_helper/drm_atomic_state_helper/g'

With support for MSM8974v1 being removed from the driver, there is no
need to keep workarounds specific to that particular MDP5 revision. Drop
them, slightly simplifying the logic.

Support for using a single CTL for flushing both interfaces was not in
use since the MDP5 driver dropped support for dual DSI configurations in
the commit df3c7899946c ("drm/msm/mdp5: drop split display support").
Having the MDP 3.x support migrated to the DPU driver the single CTL
flush is applicable to the platforms suspproted by the MDP5 driver. Drop
it alltogether.

To the best of my knowledge, the v1 version of this SoC had been
superseded before any device was released on the market. Everywhere
else in the kernel, there are assumptions about the SoC being revision
2 or the later MSM8974PRO.

Remove the config for that flavor of MDP. To bring the naming in line
with the rest of the kernel, remove the v2 suffix from the remaining
config.

This converts some of the visually simpler cases that have been split
over multiple lines. I only did the ones that are easy to verify the
resulting diff by having just that final GFP_KERNEL argument on the next
line.

Somebody should probably do a proper coccinelle script for this, but for
me the trivial script actually resulted in an assertion failure in the
middle of the script. I probably had made it a bit _too_ trivial.

So after fighting that far a while I decided to just do some of the
syntactically simpler cases with variations of the previous 'sed'
scripts.

The more syntactically complex multi-line cases would mostly really want
whitespace cleanup anyway.

<title>Convert 'alloc_obj' family to use the new default GFP_KERNEL argument</title>

This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using

    git grep -l '\&lt;k[vmz]*alloc_objs*(.*, GFP_KERNEL)' |
        xargs sed -i 's/\(alloc_objs*(.*\), GFP_KERNEL)/\1)/'

to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL
argument to just drop that argument.

Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly
more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered:
they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and
the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically.

For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate
conversion.
