Merge quoted strings that are broken across lines into a single entity. The compiler merges them anyway, but checkpatch complains about it, and merging them makes it easier to grep for strings. Typically, the return value desired for the failure of a function with an
integer return value is a negative integer. In these cases, the return
value is sometimes a negative integer and sometimes 0, due to a subsequent
initialization of the return variable within the loop.

module_param(bool) used to counter-intuitively take an int. In fddd5201 (mid-2009) we allowed bool or int/unsigned int using a messy trick. It's time to remove the int/unsigned int option. There are devices out there which are PCI Hot-plug controllers with compaq PCI IDs, but are not bridges, hence have pdev->subordinate NULL. But cpqphp expects the pointer to be non-NULL.
