2011-07-21net: filter: BPF 'JIT' compiler for PPC64Matt Evans
An implementation of a code generator for BPF programs to speed up packet filtering on PPC64, inspired by Eric Dumazet's x86-64 version. Filter code is generated as an ABI-compliant function in module_alloc()'d mem with stackframe & prologue/epilogue generated if required (simple filters don't need anything more than an li/blr). The filter's local variables, M[], live in registers. Supports all BPF opcodes, although "complicated" loads from negative packet offsets (e.g. SKF_LL_OFF) are not yet supported. There are a couple of further optimisations left for future work; many-pass assembly with branch-reach reduction and a register allocator to push M[] variables into volatile registers would improve the code quality further. This currently supports big-endian 64-bit PowerPC only (but is fairly simple to port to PPC32 or LE!). Occasionally, when the network cable is removed after a successful autonegotiation, the device will not send a link down interrupt to the driver. This happens because of a bad interaction of an EEE workaround. The fix is to adjust the code so that the root cause condition does not happen. 2011-07-19vmscan: fix a livelock in kswapdShaohua Li
I'm running a workload which triggers a lot of swap in a machine with 4 nodes. After I kill the workload, I found a kswapd livelock. Sometimes kswapd3 or kswapd2 are keeping running and I can't access filesystem, but most memory is free. This looks like a regression since commit 08951e545918c159 ("mm: vmscan: correct check for kswapd sleeping in sleeping_prematurely"). Node 2 and 3 have only ZONE_NORMAL, but balance_pgdat() will return 0 for classzone_idx. The reason is end_zone in balance_pgdat() is 0 by default, if all zones have watermark ok, end_zone will keep 0. Later sleeping_prematurely() always returns true. Because this is an order 3 wakeup, and if classzone_idx is 0, both balanced_pages and present_pages in pgdat_balanced() are 0. We add a special case here. If a zone has no page, we think it's balanced. This fixes the livelock.
