2020-08-21dt-bindings: iio: io-channel-mux: Fix compatible string in example codeChristian Eggers
commit add48ba425192c6e04ce70549129cacd01e2a09e upstream. The correct compatible string is "gpio-mux" (see bindings/mux/gpio-mux.txt). 2020-02-14dt-bindings: iio: adc: ad7606: Fix wrong maxItems valueBeniamin Bia
commit a6c4f77cb3b11f81077b53c4a38f21b92d41f21e upstream. This patch set the correct value for oversampling maxItems. In the original example, appears 3 items for oversampling while the maxItems is set to 1, this patch fixes those issues. 2019-10-02dt-bindings: iio: ad7192: Fix DTC warning in the exampleMaxime Ripard
The example contains an SPI bus and device, but doesn't have the appropriate size and address cells size. This creates a DTC warning when the example is compiled since the default ones will not match what the device uses. Let's add them to remove that warning. Fixes: f7356e47032c ("dt-bindings: iio: adc: ad7192: Add binding documentation for AD7192") Signed-off-by: Maxime Ripard <mripard@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Rob Herring <robh@kernel.org>
2019-10-02dt-bindings: iio: ad7192: Fix Regulator PropertiesMaxime Ripard
The AD7192 binding describes two regulator properties, avdd-supply and dvdd-supply, but describes it as a constant string that must be avdd and dvdd. This is wrong since a *-supply property is actually a phandle, and results in warnings when the example is validated (or any device tree using that device, for that matter). Let's remove that requirement. Pull ARM DT updates from Arnd Bergmann: "This is another huge branch with close to 450 changessets related to devicetree files, roughly half of this for 32-bit and 64-bit respectively. There are lots of cleanups and additional hardware support for platforms we already support based on SoCs from Renesas, ST-Microelectronics, Intel/Altera, Rockchips, Allwinner, Broadcom and other manufacturers. A total of 6 new SoCs and 37 new boards gets added this time, one more SoC will come in a follow-up branch. Most of the new boards are for 64-bit ARM SoCs, the others are typically for the 32-bit Cortex-A7. Going more into details for SoC platforms with new hardware support: - The Snapdragon 855 (SM8150) is Qualcomm's current high-end phone platform, usually paired with an external 5G modem. So far we only support the Qualcomm SM8150 MTP reference platform, but no actual products. - For the slightly older Qualcomm platforms, support for several interesting products is getting added: Three laptops based on Snapdragon 835/MSM8998 (Asus NovaGo, HP Envy X2 and Lenovo Miix 630), one laptop based on Snapdragon 850/sdm850 (Lenovo Yoga C630) and several phones based on the older Snapdragon 410/MSM8916 (Samsung A3 and A5, Longcheer L8150 aka Android One 2nd gen "seed" aka Wileyfox Swift). - Mediatek MT7629 is a new wireless network router chip, similar to the older MT7623. It gets added together with the reference board implementation. - Allwinner V3 is a repackaged version of the existing low-end V3s chip, and is used in the tiny Lichee Pi Zero plus, also added here. There is also a new TV set-top box based on Allwinner H6, the Tanix TX6, and the eMMC variant of the Olimex A64-Olinuxino development board. - NXP i.MX8M Nano is a new member of the ever-expanding i.MX SoC family, similar to the i.MX8M Mini. As usual, there is a large number of new boards for i.MX SoCs: Einfochips i.MX8QXP AI_ML, SolidRun Hummingboard Pulse baseboard and System-on-Module, Boundary Devices i.MX8MQ Nitrogen8M, and TechNexion PICO-PI-IMX8M-DEV for the 64-bit i.MX8 line. For 32-bit, we get the Kontron i.MX6UL N6310 SoM with two baseboards, the PHYTEC phyBOARD-Segin SoM with three baseboards, and the Zodiac Inflight Innovations i.MX7 RMU2 board. - In a different NXP product line, the Layerscape LS1046A "Freeway" reference board gets added. - Amlogic SM1 (S905X3) and G12B (S922X, A311D) are updated chips from their set-top-box line and smart speaker with newer CPU and GPU cores compared to their predecessors. Both are now also supported by the Khadas VIM3 development board series, and the dts files for that get reorganized a bit to better deal with all variants. Another board based on SM1 that gets added is the SEI Robotics SEI610. - There are a handful of new x86 and Power9 server boards using Aspeed BMC chips that are gaining support for running Linux on the BMC through the OpenBMC project: Facebook Minipack/Wedge100/Wedge40, Lenovo Hr855xg2, and Mihawk. Notably these are still new machines using SoCs based on the ARM9 and ARM11 CPU cores, as support for the new Cortex-A7 based AST2600 is still ramping up. - There are three new end-user products using 32-bit Rockchips SoCs: Mecer Xtreme Mini S6 is an Android "mini PC" box based on the low-end RK3229 chip, while the two AOpen products Chromebox Mini (Fievel) and Chromebase Mini (Tiger) run ChromeOS and are meant for commercial settings(digital signage, PoS, ...). - One more single-board computer based on the popular 64-bit RK3399 is added: the Leez RK3399 P710" * tag 'armsoc-dt' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/soc/soc: (467 commits) arm64: dts: qcom: Add Lenovo Yoga C630 ARM: dts: aspeed-g5: Fixe gpio-ranges upper limit ARM; dts: aspeed: mihawk: File should not be executable ARM: dts: aspeed: swift: Change power supplies to version 2 ARM: dts: aspeed: vesnin: Add secondary SPI flash chip ARM: dts: aspeed: vesnin: Add wdt2 with alt-boot option ARM: dts: aspeed-g4: Add all flash chips ARM: dts: exynos: Enable GPU/Mali T604 on Arndale board ARM: dts: exynos: Enable GPU/Mali T604 on Chromebook Snow ARM: dts: exynos: Add GPU/Mali T604 node to Exynos5250 ARM: dts: exynos: Fix min/max buck4 for GPU on Arndale board ARM: dts: exynos: Mark LDO10 as always-on on Peach Pit/Pi Chromebooks ARM: dts: exynos: Remove not accurate secondary ADC compatible arm64: dts: rockchip: limit clock rate of MMC controllers for RK3328 arm64: dts: meson-sm1-sei610: add stdout-path property back arm64: dts: meson-sm1-sei610: enable DVFS arm64: dts: khadas-vim3: add support for the SM1 based VIM3L dt-bindings: arm: amlogic: add Amlogic SM1 based Khadas VIM3L bindings arm64: dts: khadas-vim3: move common nodes into meson-khadas-vim3.dtsi arm64: dts: meson: g12a: add reset to tdm formatters ...

Cannot just be done with mount matrix as already in use in many devices. - Tidy up INFO_SCALE being in both the separate and shared lists. - Drop a lot of dplicate code from the cros-ec-accel-legacy driver and use the core provided code instead. - Make frequency range available to userspace. * counter / ftm-quaddec - Switch to device managed APIs for all of probe adn drop explicit remove. * hdc100x - Switch to device managed APIs for all of probe and drop explicit remove. * hi8435 - Use gpiod_set_value_cansleep as we don't care here and there is a board out there where it needs to sleep. - Switch to device managed APIs for all of probe and drop explict remove. * hp03 - Convert to i2c_new_dummy_device. * maxim thermocouple - Switch to device managed APIs for all of probe and drop explicit remove. * mmc35240 - Fix typo in constant naming. * mpu6050 - Use devm_add_action_or_reset in place of explicit error handling. - Make text in Kconfig more explicit about which parts are supported. * mxc4005 - Switch to device managed APIs for all of probe and drop explicit remove. * pms7003 - Convert device tree bindings to yaml. - Add a MAINTAINERS entry * sc27xx - Introduce a local struct device *dev pointer to avoid lots of deref. - Use devm_add_action_or_reset in place of explicit error handling. * sca3000 - Typo fix in naming. * si1145 - Switch to device managed APIs for all of probe and drop explicit remove. * st_sensors - Lots of rework to enable switch to regmap. - Regmap conversion at the end. - Tidy up some inconsistencies in buffer setup ops. - Tidy up an oddity by dropping get_irq_data_ready function in favour of direct access. - Stop allocating buffer in buffer enable in favour of just embedding a large enough constant size buffer in the iio_priv accessed structure. * st_lsm6dsx - l3c device support (LSM6DSO and LSM6DSR) - tidy up irq return logic which was strangely written. - fix up an ABI quirk where this driver used separate scale attributes, even though they were always shared by type. * stk33xx - Device tree bindings include manufacturer ID. * stm32-adc - Add control for supply to analog switches including DT bindings. * stm32 timer - Drop the quadrature mode support. Believed there were no users so take this opportunity to drop this unwanted ABI. * tsl2772 - Switch to device mangage APIs for all of probe and drop explicit remove. - Use regulator_bulk_* APIs to reduce repitition. * veml6070 - Convert to i2c_new_dummy_device. * tag 'iio-for-5.4a' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/jic23/iio: (84 commits) iio: hi8435: Drop hi8435_remove() by using devres for remaining elements iio: hi8435: Use gpiod_set_value_cansleep() iio:st_sensors: remove buffer allocation at each buffer enable iio: imu: inv_mpu6050: be more explicit on supported chips iio: light: noa1305: Add support for NOA1305 dt-bindings: Add binding document for NOA1305 iio: remove get_irq_data_ready() function pointer and use IRQ number directly iio: imu: st_lsm6dsx: make IIO_CHAN_INFO_SCALE shared by type iio: tsl2772: Use regulator_bulk_() APIs iio: tsl2772: Use devm_iio_device_register iio: tsl2772: Use devm_add_action_or_reset for tsl2772_chip_off iio: tsl2772: Use devm_add_action_or_reset iio: Remove dev_err() usage after platform_get_irq() iio: light: si1145: Use device-managed APIs iio:pressure: preenable/postenable/predisable fixup for ST press buffer iio:magn: preenable/postenable/predisable fixup for ST magn buffer iio:gyro: preenable/postenable/predisable fixup for ST gyro buffer iio:accel: preenable/postenable/predisable fixup for ST accel buffer dt-bindings: iio: imu: st_lsm6dsx: add ism330dhcx device bindings iio: imu: st_lsm6dsx: add support to ISM330DHCX ...

2019-07-28iio: document bindings for mounting matricesLinus Walleij
The mounting matrix for sensors was introduced in commit dfc57732ad38 ("iio:core: mounting matrix support") However the device tree bindings are very terse and since this is a widely applicable property, we need a proper binding for it that the other bindings can reference. This will also be useful for other operating systems and sensor engineering at large. I think all 3D sensors should support it, the current situation is probably that the mounting information is confined in magic userspace components rather than using the mounting matrix, which is not good for portability and reuse. 2019-06-26dt-bindings: iio: adc: Add buffered input propertyMircea Caprioru
This patch adds the buffered mode device tree property for positive and negative inputs. Each option can be enabled independently. In buffered mode, the input channel feeds into a high impedance input stage of the buffer amplifier. Therefore, the input can tolerate significant source impedances and is tailored for direct connection to external resistive type sensors such as strain gages or RTDs.
