2021-03-23dt-bindings: Clean-up undocumented compatible stringsRob Herring
Adding checks for undocumented compatible strings reveals a bunch of warnings in the DT binding examples. Fix the cases which are typos, just a mismatch between the schema and the example, or aren't documented at all. In a couple of cases, fixing the compatible revealed some schema errors which are fixed. There's a bunch of others remaining after this which have bindings, but those aren't converted to schema yet. Properties in if/then schemas weren't getting checked by the meta-schemas. Enabling meta-schema checks finds several errors. The use of an 'items' schema (as opposed to the list form) is wrong in some cases as it applies to all entries. 'contains' is the correct schema to use in the case of multiple entries. 2020-12-18dt-bindings: Fix JSON pointersRob Herring
The correct syntax for JSON pointers begins with a '/' after the '#'. Without a '/', the string should be interpreted as a subschema identifier. The jsonschema module currently doesn't handle subschema identifiers and incorrectly allows JSON pointers to begin without a '/'. There is a bug in the device tree binding for cznic,turris-omnia-leds which causes make dt_binding_check to complain. The reason is that the multi-led property binding's regular expression does not contain the `@` character, while the example nodes do. 2020-06-11dt-bindings: Remove more cases of 'allOf' containing a '$ref'Rob Herring
Another round of 'allOf' removals that came in this cycle. json-schema versions draft7 and earlier have a weird behavior in that any keywords combined with a '$ref' are ignored (silently). The correct form was to put a '$ref' under an 'allOf'. This behavior is now changed in the 2019-09 json-schema spec and '$ref' can be mixed with other keywords. The json-schema library doesn't yet support this, but the tooling now does a fixup for this and either way works. This has been a constant source of review comments, so let's change this treewide so everyone copies the simpler syntax. Signed-off-by: Rob Herring <robh@kernel.org>
