2021-10-01dt-bindings: Drop more redundant 'maxItems/minItems'Rob Herring
Another round of removing redundant minItems/maxItems from new schema in the recent merge window. If a property has an 'items' list, then a 'minItems' or 'maxItems' with the same size as the list is redundant and can be dropped. Note that is DT schema specific behavior and not standard json-schema behavior. The tooling will fixup the final schema adding any unspecified minItems/maxItems. Cc: "David S. 2021-06-21dt-bindings: Drop redundant minItems/maxItemsRob Herring
If a property has an 'items' list, then a 'minItems' or 'maxItems' with the same size as the list is redundant and can be dropped. Note that is DT schema specific behavior and not standard json-schema behavior. The tooling will fixup the final schema adding any unspecified minItems/maxItems. This condition is partially checked with the meta-schema already, but only if both 'minItems' and 'maxItems' are equal to the 'items' length. An improved meta-schema is pending. The "sdhci" compatible is not documented though used as a fallback in a few cases. It is also not supported by a Linux driver. Update the example to use one of the correct ones, "brcm,bcm4329-fmac", instead and use a device class based nodename. 2021-06-14dt-bindings: mmc: sdhci-am654: Remove duplicate ti,j721e-sdhci-4bitSuman Anna
The commit 7c7905df68c5 ("dt-bindings: mmc: sdhci-am654: fix compatible for j7200") switched the compatible property from a regular enum to an more appropriate combinatorial oneOf convention, and in the process has introduced a duplicate ti,j721e-sdhci-4bit. This generated the following warning on J721E boards that use the ti,j721e-sdhci-4bit for two nodes: "mmc@4fb0000: compatible: More than one condition true in oneOf schema" "mmc@4f98000: compatible: More than one condition true in oneOf schema" Remove the duplicate to fix this. 2021-02-04dt-bindings: Fix errors in 'if' schemasRob Herring
Properties in if/then schemas weren't getting checked by the meta-schemas. Enabling meta-schema checks finds several errors. The use of an 'items' schema (as opposed to the list form) is wrong in some cases as it applies to all entries. 'contains' is the correct schema to use in the case of multiple entries. 2021-01-29dt-bindings: Cleanup standard unit propertiesRob Herring
Properties with standard unit suffixes already have a type and don't need type definitions. They also default to a single entry, so 'maxItems: 1' can be dropped. adi,ad5758 is an oddball which defined an enum of arrays. 2021-01-11dt-bindings: Add missing array size constraintsRob Herring
DT properties which can have multiple entries need to specify what the entries are and define how many entries there can be. In the case of only a single entry, just 'maxItems: 1' is sufficient. Add the missing entry constraints. These were found with a modified meta-schema. Unfortunately, there are a few cases where the size constraints are not defined such as common bindings, so the meta-schema can't be part of the normal checks.
