2012-12-18Merge branch 'next' of ↵Linus Torvalds
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/benh/powerpc Pull powerpc update from Benjamin Herrenschmidt: "The main highlight is probably some base POWER8 support. There's more to come such as transactional memory support but that will wait for the next one. 2012-12-16Merge tag 'mfd-3.8-1' of ↵Linus Torvalds
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/sameo/mfd-2.6 Pull MFS update from Samuel Ortiz: "This is the MFD patch set for the 3.8 merge window. We have several new drivers, most of the time coming with their sub devices drivers: - Austria Microsystem's AS3711 - Nano River's viperboard - TI's TPS80031, AM335x TS/ADC, - Realtek's MMC/memstick card reader - Nokia's retu We also got some notable cleanups and improvements: - tps6586x got converted to IRQ domains. - tps65910 and tps65090 moved to the regmap IRQ API. - STMPE is now Device Tree aware. - A general twl6040 and twl-core cleanup, with moves to the regmap I/O and IRQ APIs and a conversion to the recently added PWM framework. - sta2x11 gained regmap support. Then the rest is mostly tiny cleanups and fixes, among which we have Mark's wm5xxx and wm8xxx patchset." Far amount of annoying but largely trivial conflicts. 2012-12-10drivers/video: add support for the Solomon SSD1307 OLED ControllerMaxime Ripard
Add support for the Solomon SSD1307 OLED controller found on the Crystalfontz CFA10036 board. This controller can drive a display with a resolution up to 128x39 and can operate over I2C or SPI. The current driver has only been tested on the CFA-10036, that is using this controller over I2C to driver a 96x16 OLED screen. 2012-12-06mmc: dt: add no-1-8-v device tree flagDaniel Drake
The OLPC XO-1.75 laptop includes a SDHCI controller which is 1.8v capable, and it truthfully reports so in its capabilities. This alternate voltage is used for driving new "UHS-I" SD cards at their full speed. However, what the controller doesn't know is that the motherboard physically doesn't have a 1.8v supply available, so attempting to switch to the 1.8v level will result in a situation that cannot be recovered from without physically replugging the SD card. Add a device tree flag that can be used on systems like these, and hook it up to the equivalent SDHCI quirk. 2012-12-06mmc: omap_hsmmc: Enable HSPE bit for high speed cardsHebbar, Gururaja
HSMMC IP on AM33xx need a special setting to handle High-speed cards. Other platforms like TI81xx, OMAP4 may need this as-well. This depends on the HSMMC IP timing closure done for the high speed cards. From AM335x TRM (SPRUH73F - 18.3.12 Output Signals Generation): The MMC/SD/SDIO output signals can be driven on either falling edge or rising edge depending on the SD_HCTL[2] HSPE bit. This feature allows to reach better timing performance, and thus to increase data transfer frequency. There are few pre-requisites for enabling the HSPE bit - Controller should support High-Speed-Enable Bit and - Controller should not be using DDR Mode and - Controller should advertise that it supports High Speed in capabilities register and - MMC/SD clock coming out of controller > 25MHz Signed-off-by: Hebbar, Gururaja <gururaja.hebbar@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Venkatraman S <svenkatr@ti.com> Signed-off-by: Chris Ball <cjb@laptop.org>
