This patch fixes the following error: sgtl5000 0-000a: Error reading chip id -6 imx-sgtl5000 sound: ASoC: CODEC DAI sgtl5000 not registered imx-sgtl5000 sound: snd_soc_register_card failed (-517) The problem was that the pinctrl group was linked to the sound driver instead of the codec node. Since the codec is probed first, the sys_mclk was missing and it would therefore fail to initialize. 2017-01-26ARM: dts: da850-evm: fix read access to SPI flashFabien Parent
commit 43849785e1079f6606a31cb7fda92d1200849728 upstream. Read access to the SPI flash are broken on da850-evm, i.e. the data read is not what is actually programmed on the flash. According to the datasheet for the M25P64 part present on the da850-evm, if the SPI frequency is higher than 20MHz then the READ command is not usable anymore and only the FAST_READ command can be used to read data. This commit specifies in the DTS that we should use FAST_READ command instead of the READ command. 2016-10-16ARM: dts: MSM8064 remove flags from SPMI/MPP IRQsLinus Walleij
commit ca88696e8b73a9fa2b1de445747e9235c3a7bd50 upstream. The Qualcomm PMIC GPIO and MPP lines are problematic: the are fetched from the main MFD driver with platform_get_irq() which means that at this point they will all be assigned the flags set up for the interrupts in the device tree. That is problematic since these are flagged as rising edge and an this point the interrupt descriptor is assigned a rising edge, while the only thing the GPIO/MPP drivers really do is issue irq_get_irqchip_state() on the line to read it out and to provide a .to_irq() helper for *other* IRQ consumers. If another device tree node tries to flag the same IRQ for use as something else than rising edge, the kernel irqdomain core will protest like this: type mismatch, failed to map hwirq-NN for <FOO>! Which is what happens when the device tree defines two contradictory flags for the same interrupt line. To work around this and alleviate the problem, assign 0 as flag for the interrupts taken by the PM GPIO and MPP drivers. This will lead to the flag being unset, and a second consumer requesting rising, falling, both or level interrupts will be respected. This is what the qcom-pm*.dtsi files already do. Switched to using the symbolic name IRQ_TYPE_NONE so that we get this more readable. 2016-10-07ARM: 8618/1: decompressor: reset ttbcr fields to use TTBR0 on ARMv7Srinivas Ramana
commit 117e5e9c4cfcb7628f08de074fbfefec1bb678b7 upstream. If the bootloader uses the long descriptor format and jumps to kernel decompressor code, TTBCR may not be in a right state. Before enabling the MMU, it is required to clear the TTBCR.PD0 field to use TTBR0 for translation table walks. The commit dbece45894d3a ("ARM: 7501/1: decompressor: reset ttbcr for VMSA ARMv7 cores") does the reset of TTBCR.N, but doesn't consider all the bits for the size of TTBCR.N. Clear TTBCR.PD0 field and reset all the three bits of TTBCR.N to indicate the use of TTBR0 and the correct base address width. 2016-09-24ARM: dts: imx6qdl: Fix SPDIF regressionFabio Estevam

Commit 833f2cbf7091 ("ARM: dts: imx6: change the core clock of spdif") changed many more clocks than only the SPDIF core clock as stated in the commit message. The MLB clock has been added and this causes SPDIF regression as reported by Xavi Drudis Ferran and also in this forum post: https://forum.digikey.com/thread/34240 The MX6Q Reference Manual does not mention that MLB is a clock related to SPDIF, so change it back to a dummy clock to restore SPDIF functionality. 2016-08-20ARM: dts: sunxi: Add a startup delay for fixed regulator enabled physHans de Goede
commit fc51b632c7b047c25807023b76f3877aed19c770 upstream. It seems that recent kernels have a shorter timeout when scanning for ethernet phys causing us to hit a timeout on boards where the phy's regulator gets enabled just before scanning, which leads to non working ethernet. A 10ms startup delay seems to be enough to fix it, this commit adds a 20ms startup delay just to be safe. This has been tested on a sun4i-a10-a1000 and sun5i-a10s-wobo-i5 board, both of which have non-working ethernet on recent kernels without this fix. The memory range assigned to the PMC (Power Management Controller) was not including the PMC_PCR register which are used to control peripheral clocks. This was working fine thanks to the page granularity of ioremap(), but started to fail when we switched to syscon/regmap, because regmap is making sure that all accesses are falling into the reserved range. 2016-05-04ARM: dts: armada-375: use armada-370-sata for SATALior Amsalem

The Armada 375 has the same SATA IP as Armada 370 and Armada XP, which requires the PHY speed to be set in the LP_PHY_CTL register for SATA hotplug to work. Therefore, this commit updates the compatible string used to describe the SATA IP in Armada 375 from marvell,orion-sata to marvell,armada-370-sata. By default the synctimer32k is clocked by 32K RTC OSC on AM43xx. But this 32K RTC OSC is not available on epos boards which makes it fail to boot. Synctimer32k can also be clocked by a peripheral PLL, so making this as clock parent for synctimer3k on epos boards. Errata id: i877 Description: ------------ The RGMII 1000 Mbps Transmit timing is based on the output clock (rgmiin_txc) being driven relative to the rising edge of an internal clock and the output control/data (rgmiin_txctl/txd) being driven relative to the falling edge of an internal clock source. If the internal clock source is allowed to be static low (i.e., disabled) for an extended period of time then when the clock is actually enabled the timing delta between the rising edge and falling edge can change over the lifetime of the device. This can result in the device switching characteristics degrading over time, and eventually failing to meet the Data Manual Delay Time/Skew specs. To maintain RGMII 1000 Mbps IO Timings, SW should minimize the duration that the Ethernet internal clock source is disabled. Note that the device reset state for the Ethernet clock is "disabled". Other RGMII modes (10 Mbps, 100Mbps) are not affected Workaround: ----------- If the SoC Ethernet interface(s) are used in RGMII mode at 1000 Mbps, SW should minimize the time the Ethernet internal clock source is disabled to a maximum of 200 hours in a device life cycle. This is done by enabling the clock as early as possible in IPL (QNX) or SPL/u-boot (Linux/Android) by setting the register CM_GMAC_CLKSTCTRL[1:0]CLKTRCTRL = 0x2:SW_WKUP. So, do not allow to gate the cpsw clocks using ti,no-idle property in cpsw node assuming 1000 Mbps is being used all the time. If someone does not need 1000 Mbps and wants to gate clocks to cpsw, this property needs to be deleted in their respective board files. Indeed, they will not be mapped if the area allocated in the PCIe memory aperture by the PCI core overlaps with one of the Crypto SRAM. Typically, a Intel IGB PCIe NIC that needs 8MB of PCIe memory will see its PCIe memory window allocated from 0xf80000000 for 8MB, which overlaps with the Crypto SRAM windows. However, we have a special case with the OpenBlocks AX3-4 platform, which has a 128 MB NOR flash. Currently, this NOR flash is mapped from 0xf0000000 to 0xf8000000. This is possible because on OpenBlocks AX3-4, the internal registers are not at 0xf1000000. And this explains why the Crypto SRAM mappings were not configured at the same place on Armada XP. Hence, the solution is two-fold: (1) Move the NOR flash mapping on Armada XP OpenBlocks AX3-4 from 0xe8000000 to 0xf0000000. This frees the 0xf0000000 -> 0xf80000000 space. (2) Move the Crypto SRAM mappings on Armada XP to be similar to Armada 370 (except of course that Armada XP has two Crypto SRAM and not one). 2016-02-25ARM: dts: Fix omap5 PMIC control lines for RTC writesTony Lindgren
commit af756bbccff85504ce05c63a50f80b9d7823c500 upstream. The palmas PMIC has two control lines that need to be muxed properly for things to work. The sys_nirq pin is used for interrupts, and msecure pin is used for enabling writes to some PMIC registers. Without these pins configured properly things can fail in mysterious ways. For example, we can't update the RTC registers on palmas PMIC unless the msecure pin is configured. And this is probably the reason why we had RTC missing from the omap5 dts file. According to "OMAP5430 ES2.0 Data Manual [Public] VErsion A (Rev. F)" swps052f.pdf, mux mode 1 is for sys_drm_msecure so in theory there's should be no need to configure it as a GPIO pin. However, it seems there are some reliability issues using the msecure mux mode. And the TI trees configure the msecure pin as GPIO out high instead. As the PMIC only cares that the msecure line is high to allow access to the RTC registers, let's use a GPIO hog as suggested by Nishanth Menon <nm@ti.com>. Also the use of the internal pull was considered but supposedly that may not be capable of keeping the line high in a noisy environment. If we ever see high security omap5 products in the mainline tree, those need to skip the msecure pin muxing and ignore setting the GPIO hog. Chances are the related pin mux registers are locked in that case and the msecure pin is managed by whatever software may be running in the ARM TrustZone. Who knows what the original intention of the msecure pin was. Maybe it was supposed to prevent the system time to be set back for some game demo modes to time out? Anyways, it seems that later PMICs like tps659037 have recycled this pin for "powerhold" and devices like beagle-x15 do not need changes to the msecure pin configuration. To avoid further confusion with TWL variant PMICs, beagle-x15 does not have a back-up battery for RTC palmas. Instead the mcp79410 RTC is used with rtc-ds1307 driver. There is a "powerhold" jumper j5 holes near the palmas PMIC, and shorting it seems to power up beagle-x15 automatically. The DTSI file for the Nomadik does not properly specify how the PL180 levelshifter is connected: the Nomadik actually needs all the five st,sig-dir-* flags set to properly control all lines out. Further this board supports full power cycling of the card, and since this variant has no hardware clock gating, it needs a ridiculously low frequency setting to keep up with the ever overflowing FIFO. The pin configuration set-up is a bit of a mystery, because of course these pins are a mix of inputs and outputs. However the reference implementation sets all pins to "output" with unspecified initial value, so let's do that here as well. Commit 0976c946a610d06e907335b7a3afa6db046f8e1b "arm/versatile: Fix versatile irq specifications" has an off-by-one error on the Versatile AB that has been regressing the Versatile AB hardware for some time. However it seems like the interrupt assignments have never been correct and I have now adjusted them according to the specification. The masks for the valid interrupts made it impossible to assign the right SIC interrupt for the MMCI, so I went in and fixed these to correspond to the specifications, and added references if anyone wants to double-check. Due to the Versatile PB including the Versatile AB as a base DTS file, we need to override and correct some values to correspond to the actual changes in the hardware. For the Versatile PB I don't think the IRQ line assignment for MMCI has ever been correct for either of the two MMCI blocks. It would be nice if someone with the physical PB board could test this. Patch tested on the Versatile AB, QEMU for Versatile AB and QEMU for Versatile PB. The Nomadik has sporadic crashes because of these latencies, setting them to max makes the platform work nicely, so use this values for now. These latencies were set to 2 since the Nomadik platform was merged, but I suspect they never took effect until the right size and associativity for the cache was specified in the device tree and that is why the crash comes now. Enabling CPUFreq support for Tegra124 Chromebooks is causing the Tegra124 to hang when resuming from suspend. When CPUFreq is enabled, the CPU clock is changed from the PLLX clock to the DFLL clock during kernel boot. When resuming from suspend the CPU clock is temporarily changed back to the PLLX clock before switching back to the DFLL. If the DFLL is operating at a much lower frequency than the PLLX when we enter suspend, and so the CPU voltage rail is at a voltage too low for the CPUs to operate at the PLLX frequency, then the device will hang. Please note that the PLLX is used in the resume sequence to switch the CPU clock from the very slow 32K clock to a faster clock during early resume to speed up the resume sequence before the DFLL is resumed. Ideally, we should fix this by setting the suspend frequency so that it matches the PLLX frequency, however, that would be a bigger change. For now simply disable CPUFreq support for Tegra124 Chromebooks to avoid the hang when resuming from suspend.
