2014-07-08ARM: S5P64X0: no more support S5P6440 and S5P6450 SoCsKukjin Kim
This patch removes supporting codes for s5p6440 and s5p6450 because seems no more used now. And if its supporting is required, DT based codes should be supprted next time. 2014-06-17ARM: samsung: make SAMSUNG_DMADEV optionalArnd Bergmann
The only remaining driver using the samsung dmadev code is the broken samsung-ac97 sound driver. However, as found by Russell's autobuilder, the elaborate dependency chains around it cause problems with circular dependencies. This is an attempt to simplify those dependencies by making the SAMSUNG_DMADEV option user-selectable. I also try to keep the default settings for all related options unchanged, so we don't introduce any regressions against earlier testing on linux-next. In particular, all s3c64xx and s5p* platforms keep selecting the pl330 and pl08x drivers they require, but the select statement is now moved towards the main platform option, and it remains optional by unselecting CONFIG_DMADEVICES. 2014-03-21ARM: samsung: allow serial driver to be disabledArnd Bergmann
If CONFIG_SERIAL_SAMSUNG is disabled, we run into build errors with some samsung platforms. This adds a couple of #ifdef statements to hopefully deal with this more gracefully. 2014-03-21ARM: s5p64x0: fix building with only one soc typeArnd Bergmann
The s5p64x0 platform supports two distinct SoCs, s5p6440 and s5p6450, and in the normal configuration, both are enabled. However if we build a kernel that only enables one of the two, the #ifdef logic in common.c breaks down, as some of the functions declared in the header are defined to NULL using the preprocessor but then defined anyway. This patch cleans up the mess and ensures that each function has either exactly one C declaration and one matching C definition, or we have a NULL defined function pointer but no C definition. 2014-03-21ARM: S5P64X0: Explicitly include linux/serial_s3c.h in mach/pm-core.hTomasz Figa

Pull ARM SoC cleanups from Arnd Bergmann: "A large number of cleanups, all over the platforms. This is dominated largely by the Samsung platforms (s3c, s5p, exynos) and a few of the others moving code out of arch/arm into more appropriate subsystems. The clocksource and irqchip drivers are now abstracted to the point where platforms that are already cleaned up do not need to even specify the driver they use, it can all get configured from the device tree as we do for normal device drivers. The clocksource changes basically touch every single platform in the process. We further clean up the use of platform specific header files here, with the goal of turning more of the platforms over to being "multiplatform" enabled, which implies that they cannot expose their headers to architecture independent code any more. It is expected that no functional changes are part of the cleanup. The overall reduction in total code lines is mostly the result of removing broken and obsolete code." * tag 'cleanup' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm/arm-soc: (133 commits) ARM: mvebu: correct gated clock documentation ARM: kirkwood: add missing include for nsa310 ARM: exynos: move exynos4210-combiner to drivers/irqchip mfd: db8500-prcmu: update resource passing drivers/db8500-cpufreq: delete dangling include ARM: at91: remove NEOCORE 926 board sunxi: Cleanup the reset code and add meaningful registers defines ARM: S3C24XX: header mach/regs-mem.h local ARM: S3C24XX: header mach/regs-power.h local ARM: S3C24XX: header mach/regs-s3c2412-mem.h local ARM: S3C24XX: Remove plat-s3c24xx directory in arch/arm/ ARM: S3C24XX: transform s3c2443 subirqs into new structure ARM: S3C24XX: modify s3c2443 irq init to initialize all irqs ARM: S3C24XX: move s3c2443 irq code to irq.c ARM: S3C24XX: transform s3c2416 irqs into new structure ARM: S3C24XX: modify s3c2416 irq init to initialize all irqs ARM: S3C24XX: move s3c2416 irq init to common irq code ARM: S3C24XX: Modify s3c_irq_wake to use the hwirq property ARM: S3C24XX: Move irq syscore-ops to irq-pm clocksource: always define CLOCKSOURCE_OF_DECLARE ...

2012-12-24ARM: delete struct sys_timerStephen Warren
Now that the only field in struct sys_timer is .init, delete the struct, and replace the machine descriptor .timer field with the initialization function itself. This will enable moving timer drivers into drivers/clocksource without having to place a public prototype of each struct sys_timer object into include/linux; the intent is to create a single of_clocksource_init() function that determines which timer driver to initialize by scanning the device dtree, much like the proposed irqchip_init() at: http://www.spinics.net/lists/arm-kernel/msg203686.html Includes mach-omap2 fixes from Igor Grinberg. 2012-12-07ASoC: Samsung: Do not register samsung audio dma device as pdevPadmavathi Venna
Previously, the ASoC 'platform' (PCM/DMA) object was instantiated via a platform_device. This didn't represent the hardware well, since there was no separate hardware associated with this platform_device; it was a virtual device with sole purpose to call snd_soc_register_platform(). This change removes the platform_device completely. Each Samsung DAI now registers the ASoC 'platform' itself. Machine drivers are adjusted for the new 'platform' name. 2012-10-17ARM: SAMSUNG: Add naming of s3c64xx-spi devicesHeiko Stuebner
Commit a5238e360b71 (spi: s3c64xx: move controller information into driver data) introduced separate device names for the different subtypes of the spi controller but forgot to set these in the relevant machines. To fix this introduce a s3c64xx_spi_setname function and populate all Samsung arches with the correct names. The function resides in a new header, as the s3c64xx-spi.h contains driver platform data and should therefore at some later point move out of the Samsung include dir. Tested on a s3c2416-based machine. 2012-10-13ARM: config: sort select statements alphanumericallyRussell King
As suggested by Andrew Morton: This is a pet peeve of mine. Any time there's a long list of items (header file inclusions, kconfig entries, array initalisers, etc) and someone wants to add a new item, they *always* go and stick it at the end of the list. Guys, don't do this. Either put the new item into a randomly-chosen position or, probably better, alphanumerically sort the list. lets sort all our select statements alphanumerically. This commit was created by the following perl: while (<>) { while (/\\\s*$/) { $_ .= <>; } undef %selects if /^\s*config\s+/; if (/^\s+select\s+(\w+).*/) { if (defined($selects{$1})) { if ($selects{$1} eq $_) { print STDERR "Warning: removing duplicated $1 entry\n"; } else { print STDERR "Error: $1 differently selected\n". "\tOld: $selects{$1}\n". "\tNew: $_\n"; exit 1; } } $selects{$1} = $_; next; } if (%selects and (/^\s*$/ or /^\s+help/ or /^\s+---help---/ or /^endif/ or /^endchoice/)) { foreach $k (sort (keys %selects)) { print "$selects{$k}"; } undef %selects; } print; } if (%selects) { foreach $k (sort (keys %selects)) { print "$selects{$k}"; } } It found two duplicates: Warning: removing duplicated S5P_SETUP_MIPIPHY entry Warning: removing duplicated HARDIRQS_SW_RESEND entry and they are identical duplicates, hence the shrinkage in the diffstat of two lines.
