2016-10-07ARM: sa1100: register clocks earlyRussell King
commit 198b51e8a6a31d3a6f8e9dd9cade3635d0291f26 upstream. Since we switched to use pxa_timer, we need to provide the OSTIMER0 clock. However, as the clock is initialised early, we need to provide the clock early as well, so that pxa_timer can find it. Adding the clock to the clkdev table at core_initcall() time is way too late. Move the initialisation earlier. 2016-09-30net: smc91x: fix SMC accessesRussell King
[ Upstream commit 2fb04fdf30192ff1e2b5834e9b7745889ea8bbcb ] Commit b70661c70830 ("net: smc91x: use run-time configuration on all ARM machines") broke some ARM platforms through several mistakes. Firstly, the access size must correspond to the following rule: (a) at least one of 16-bit or 8-bit access size must be supported (b) 32-bit accesses are optional, and may be enabled in addition to the above. Secondly, it provides no emulation of 16-bit accesses, instead blindly making 16-bit accesses even when the platform specifies that only 8-bit is supported. Reorganise smc91x.h so we can make use of the existing 16-bit access emulation already provided - if 16-bit accesses are supported, use 16-bit accesses directly, otherwise if 8-bit accesses are supported, use the provided 16-bit access emulation. If neither, BUG(). This exactly reflects the driver behaviour prior to the commit being fixed. Since the conversion incorrectly cut down the available access sizes on several platforms, we also need to go through every platform and fix up the overly-restrictive access size: Arnd assumed that if a platform can perform 32-bit, 16-bit and 8-bit accesses, then only a 32-bit access size needed to be specified - not so, all available access sizes must be specified. This likely fixes some performance regressions in doing this: if a platform does not support 8-bit accesses, 8-bit accesses have been emulated by performing a 16-bit read-modify-write access. Tested on the Intel Assabet/Neponset platform, which supports only 8-bit accesses, which was broken by the original commit. 2015-09-16genirq: Remove irq argument from irq flow handlersThomas Gleixner
Most interrupt flow handlers do not use the irq argument. Those few which use it can retrieve the irq number from the irq descriptor. Remove the argument. set_irq_flags is ARM specific with custom flags which have genirq equivalents. Convert drivers to use the genirq interfaces directly, so we can kill off set_irq_flags. The translation of flags is as follows: IRQF_VALID -> !IRQ_NOREQUEST IRQF_PROBE -> !IRQ_NOPROBE IRQF_NOAUTOEN -> IRQ_NOAUTOEN For IRQs managed by an irqdomain, the irqdomain core code handles clearing and setting IRQ_NOREQUEST already, so there is no need to do this in .map() functions and we can simply remove the set_irq_flags calls. Some users also modify IRQ_NOPROBE and this has been maintained although it is not clear that is really needed. There appears to be a great deal of blind copy and paste of this code. Unfortunately, my script was wrong and did not actually test the configurations that mattered, so I introduced stupid typos in almost every file I touched. I fixed my script now, built all configurations that actually matter and fixed all the typos, this is the result. The smc91x driver traditionally gets configured at compile-time for whichever hardware it runs on. This no longer works on ARM as we continue to move to building all-in-one kernels. Most ARM configurations with this driver already use run-time configuration through DT or through platform_data, but a few have not been converted yet. I've checked all ARM boards that use this driver in their legacy board files, and converted the ones that were using compile-time configuration in smc91x.h to behave like the other ones and provide the interrupt polarity along with the MMIO configuration (width, stride) at platform device creation time. In particular, these combinations were previously selectable in Kconfig but in fact broken: - sa1100 assabet plus pleb - msm combined with any other armv6/v7 platform - pxa-idp combined with any non-DMA pxa variant - LogicPD PXA270 combined with any other pxa - nomadik combined with any other armv4/v5 platform, e.g. versatile. None of these seem critical enough to warrant a backport to stable, but it would be nice to clean this up for good. Convert the sa1100 nanoengine PCI driver to use the generic config access functions. Change accesses from __raw_readX/__raw_writeX to readX/writeX variants. This removes the spinlock because it is unnecessary. The config read and write functions are already protected with a spinlock. 2015-01-29ARM: 8284/1: sa1100: clear RCSR_SMR on resumeDmitry Eremin-Solenikov
StrongARM core uses RCSR SMR bit to tell to bootloader that it was reset by entering the sleep mode. After we have resumed, there is little point in having that bit enabled. Moreover, if this bit is set before reboot, the bootloader can become confused. Thus clear the SMR bit on resume just before clearing the scratchpad (resume address) register. 2015-01-29ARM: 8278/1: sa1100: split irq handling for low GPIOsDmitry Eremin-Solenikov
Low GPIO pins use an interrupt in SC interrupts space. However it's possible to handle them as if all the GPIO interrupts are instead tied to single GPIO handler, which later decodes GEDR register and chain-calls next IRQ handler. So split first 11 interrupts into system part (IRQ_GPIO0_SC - IRQ_GPIO10_SC) which work exactly like the rest of system controller interrupts and real GPIO interrupts (IRQ_GPIO0..IRQ_GPIO10). A single handler sa1100_gpio_handler then decodes and calls next handler. Both SA1100 framebuffer and PCMCIA drivers require knowledge of cpu frequency to correctly program timings. Currently they receive timing information by calling cpufreq_get(0). However if cpu frequency driver is not enabled (e.g. due to unsupported DRAM chip/board on sa1110) cpufreq_get(0) returns 0, causing incorrect timings to be programmed. Add cpu clock returning cpu frequency, to be used by sa11x0 fb and pcmcia drivers.
