2019-11-25MLK-16689-03 driver: soc: Add busfreq driver for imx8mqBai Ping
Add busfreq driver support on i.MX8MQ. The busfreq driver is mainly used for dynamic DDR frequency change for power saving feature. When there is no peripheral or DMA device has direct access to DDR memory, we can lower the DDR frequency to save power. Currently, we support frequency setpoint for LPDDR4: (1): 3200mts, the DDRC core clock is sourced from 800MHz dram_pll, the DDRC apb clock is 200MHz. (2): 400mts, the DDRC core clock is source from sys1_pll_400m, the DDRC apb clock is is sourced from sys1_pll_40m. (3): 100mts, the DDRC core clock is sourced from sys1_pll_100m, the DDRC apb clock is sourced from sys1_pll_40m. In our busfreq driver, we have three mode supported: * high bus mode <-----> 3200mts; * audio bus mode <-----> 400mts; * low bus mode <-----> 100mts; The actual DDR frequency is done in ARM trusted firmware by calling the SMCC SiP service call. 2019-11-25pinctrl: Add pinmuxing driver for S32V234Mihaela Martinas
Add basic support for S32V234 SIUL2 pin controller, based on i.MX model. Definitions of MSCR PADs, which are used for I/O (MSCR < 512), were added. Definitions of IMCR (input only) PADs (MSCR >= 512), corresponding to specific peripherals like ENET, I2C, UART or uSDHC are going to be added along with the drivers which need them. Add configurations for specific S32 SoC selection and pinmuxing driver. During randconfig builds, I occasionally run into an invalid configuration drivers/soc/imx/soc-imx8.o: In function `imx8_soc_init': soc-imx8.c:(.init.text+0x144): undefined reference to `soc_device_register' while CONFIG_SOC_BUS is not set, the building failed like this. Manivannan Sadhasivam adds support for another SoC family, this is the Bitmain BM1880 chip used in the Sophon Edge TPU developer board. The chip is intended for Deep Learning applications, and comes with dual-core Arm Cortex-A53 to run Linux as well as a RISC-V microcontroller core to control the tensor unit. For the moment, the TPU is not accessible in mainline Linux, so we treat it as a generic Arm SoC. The ATF on the i.MX8MQ device disables all non-essential power domains. For correct on-SoC peripheral operation we need both the power domain driver and generic domains, so device driver probe gets ordered behind the power domain controller driver. arch/arm64/Kconfig.platforms has SoC-specific Kconfig symbols for Renesas SoCs, while other vendors have only a single Kconfig symbol. Increase consistency with other vendors by moving the SoC-specific Kconfig symbols to drivers/soc/renesas/Kconfig. Increase consistency with R-Car Gen1 and Gen2 SoCs on arm32 by introducing a family-specific Kconfig symbol for R-Car Gen3 (ARCH_RCAR_GEN3), which enables family-specific hardware features. While so far only a single family (R-Car Gen3 and derivatives) of Renesas arm64 SoCs is supported by Linux, this will make it easier to add support for other SoC families later. The R-Car GPIO driver cannot be enabled when Renesas SoC's ARCH configs (ARCH_RENESAS, ARCH_R8A7795, ARCH_R8A7796 and ARCH_R8A77965) are enabled only. As GPIOs are a critical resource for proper operation on Renesas platforms, this patch selects GPIOLIB, just like is done for other SoC vendors, and on Renesas arm32 SoCs.
