2013-08-20m68k/atari: ARAnyM - Fix NatFeat module supportGeert Uytterhoeven
commit e8184e10f89736a23ea6eea8e24cd524c5c513d2 upstream. As pointed out by Andreas Schwab, pointers passed to ARAnyM NatFeat calls should be physical addresses, not virtual addresses. Fortunately on Atari, physical and virtual kernel addresses are the same, as long as normal kernel memory is concerned, so this usually worked fine without conversion. But for modules, pointers to literal strings are located in vmalloc()ed memory. Depending on the version of ARAnyM, this causes the nf_get_id() call to just fail, or worse, crash ARAnyM itself with e.g. Gotcha! Illegal memory access. Atari PC = $968c This is a big issue for distro kernels, who want to have all drivers as loadable modules in an initrd. Add a wrapper for nf_get_id() that copies the literal to the stack to work around this issue. 2013-01-03ARCH: drivers remove __dev* attributes.Greg Kroah-Hartman
This fixes up all of the smaller arches that had __dev* markings for their platform-specific drivers. CONFIG_HOTPLUG is going away as an option. As a result, the __dev* markings need to be removed. This change removes the use of __devinit, __devexit_p, __devinitdata, __devinitconst, and __devexit from these drivers. Based on patches originally written by Bill Pemberton, but redone by me in order to handle some of the coding style issues better, by hand. 2012-11-15TTY: call tty_port_destroy in the rest of driversJiri Slaby
After commit "TTY: move tty buffers to tty_port", the tty buffers are not freed in some drivers. This is because tty_port_destructor is not called whenever a tty_port is freed. This was an assumption I counted with but was unfortunately untrue. So fix the drivers to fulfil this assumption. To be sure, the TTY buffers (and later some stuff) are gone along with the tty_port, we have to call tty_port_destroy at tear-down places. This is mostly where the structure containing a tty_port is freed. This patch does exactly that -- put tty_port_destroy at those places. 2012-08-13TTY: nfcon, add tty_port and link itJiri Slaby
Every tty driver needs tty_port for each line. So let us add one to nfcon too. And link it so that the tty layer knows about it. 2012-03-08TTY: remove re-assignments to tty_driver membersJiri Slaby
All num, magic and owner are set by alloc_tty_driver. No need to re-set them on each allocation site. pti driver sets something different to what it passes to alloc_tty_driver. It is not a bug, since we don't use the lines parameter in any way. Anyway this is fixed, and now we do the right thing. 2011-09-12block: remove support for bio remapping from ->make_requestChristoph Hellwig
There is very little benefit in allowing to let a ->make_request instance update the bios device and sector and loop around it in __generic_make_request when we can archive the same through calling generic_make_request from the driver and letting the loop in generic_make_request handle it. Note that various drivers got the return value from ->make_request and returned non-zero values for errors.
