2017-08-30MIPS: Make CONFIG_MIPS_MT_SMP default yPaul Burton
On systems that support MT ASE multithreading (ie. VPEs) we are very likely to want to include that support as default. Rather than setting it in various defconfigs, simply make CONFIG_MIPS_MT_SMP default y such that systems which select CONFIG_SYS_SUPPORTS_MULTITHREADING get it by default. As well as allowing us to remove the selection of CONFIG_MIPS_MT_SMP from various defconfigs, this also allows the generated generic defconfigs which derive from generic_defconfig to automatically gain support for MT ASE SMP when building for a suitable (pre-MIPSr6) ISA. For malta_kvm_guest_defconfig CONFIG_MIPS_MT_SMP is explicitly disabled since enabling SMP implicitly disables CONFIG_KVM_GUEST, which depends on CONFIG_BROKEN_ON_SMP. 2017-01-24MIPS: Update defconfigs for NF_CT_PROTO_DCCP/UDPLITE changeArnd Bergmann
In linux-4.10-rc, NF_CT_PROTO_UDPLITE and NF_CT_PROTO_DCCP are bool symbols instead of tristate, and kernelci.org reports a bunch of warnings for this, like: arch/mips/configs/malta_kvm_guest_defconfig:63:warning: symbol value 'm' invalid for NF_CT_PROTO_UDPLITE arch/mips/configs/malta_defconfig:62:warning: symbol value 'm' invalid for NF_CT_PROTO_DCCP arch/mips/configs/malta_defconfig:63:warning: symbol value 'm' invalid for NF_CT_PROTO_UDPLITE arch/mips/configs/ip22_defconfig:70:warning: symbol value 'm' invalid for NF_CT_PROTO_DCCP arch/mips/configs/ip22_defconfig:71:warning: symbol value 'm' invalid for NF_CT_PROTO_UDPLITE This changes all the MIPS defconfigs with these symbols to have them built-in. Make use of the generic syscon-reboot driver to reboot the Malta board, reducing the amount of platform code it requires. 2016-10-06MIPS: Malta: Probe pflash via DTPaul Burton
Add the DT nodes required to probe the CFI compatible parallel monitor flash found on the Malta development board, and remove the platform code that was previously doing it. Delete the now-empty malta-platform.c file. Adjust the Malta defconfigs that enable MTD & the pflash/CFI driver to enable CONFIG_MTD_PHYSMAP_OF rather than CONFIG_MTD_PHYSMAP in order to preserve their behaviour. 2015-11-11MIPS: malta_kvm_guest_defconfig: Convert to use libata PATA driversBartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz
IDE subsystem has been deprecated since 2009 and the majority (if not all) of Linux distributions have switched to use libata for ATA support exclusively. However there are still some users (mostly old or/and embedded non-x86 systems) that have not converted from using IDE subsystem to libata PATA drivers. This doesn't seem to be good thing in the long-term for Linux as while there is less and less PATA systems left in use: * testing efforts are divided between two subsystems * having duplicate drivers for same hardware confuses users This patch converts malta_kvm_guest_defconfig to use libata PATA drivers (tc86c001 IDE host driver has no corresponding libata driver yet so it is not converted). 2014-09-24mips: Set CONFIG_NET=y in defconfigsMichal Marek
Commit 5d6be6a5 ("scsi_netlink : Make SCSI_NETLINK dependent on NET instead of selecting NET") removed what happened to be the only instance of 'select NET'. Defconfigs that were relying on the select now lack networking support. 2014-07-17tgt: defconfig cleanupBart Van Assche
Because of the removal of the scsi_tgt kernel module, the kbuild variables CONFIG_SCSI_TGT, CONFIG_SCSI_SRP_TGT_ATTRS and CONFIG_SCSI_FC_TGT_ATTRS are obsolete. This patch removes these variables. This patch is the result of the following command: find -name '*defconfig' | while read f; do grep -vwE 'CONFIG_SCSI_TGT|CONFIG_SCSI_SRP_TGT_ATTRS|CONFIG_SCSI_FC_TGT_ATTRS|CONFIG_SRP' $f >/tmp/t && mv /tmp/t $f; done Signed-off-by: Bart Van Assche <bvanassche@acm.org> Signed-off-by: Christoph Hellwig <hch@lst.de> Reviewed-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com> Reviewed-by: Hannes Reinecke <hare@suse.de>
2014-03-26MIPS: Malta: Enable DEVTMPFSMarkos Chandras
Recent versions of udev and systemd require the kernel to be compiled with CONFIG_DEVTMPFS in order to populate the /dev directory. Most MIPS platforms have it enabled by default, so enable it for Malta configs as well. 2014-03-26MIPS: Regenerate malta defconfigsPaul Burton
This patch simply regenerates the malta defconfigs such that they don't change after being used & saved as a defconfig again. ie. it is the result of running the following: for cfg in arch/mips/configs/malta*; do ARCH=mips make `basename ${cfg}` ARCH=mips make savedefconfig mv -v defconfig ${cfg} done Signed-off-by: Paul Burton <paul.burton@imgtec.com> Signed-off-by: Markos Chandras <markos.chandras@imgtec.com> Cc: linux-mips@linux-mips.org Patchwork: https://patchwork.linux-mips.org/patch/6578/ Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org>
