2015-04-07tracing: Add TRACE_SYSTEM_VAR to kvm-s390Steven Rostedt (Red Hat)
New code will require TRACE_SYSTEM to be a valid C variable name, but some tracepoints have TRACE_SYSTEM with '-' and not '_', so it can not be used. Instead, add a TRACE_SYSTEM_VAR that can give the tracing infrastructure a unique name for the trace system. 2015-01-23KVM: s390: handle stop irqs without action_bitsDavid Hildenbrand
This patch removes the famous action_bits and moves the handling of SIGP STOP AND STORE STATUS directly into the SIGP STOP interrupt. The new local interrupt infrastructure is used to track pending stop requests. STOP irqs are the only irqs that don't get actively delivered. They remain pending until the stop function is executed (=stop intercept). If another STOP irq is already pending, -EBUSY will now be returned (needed for the SIGP handling code). Migration of pending SIGP STOP (AND STORE STATUS) orders should now be supported out of the box. 2014-04-29KVM: s390: enable IBS for single running VCPUsDavid Hildenbrand
This patch enables the IBS facility when a single VCPU is running. The facility is dynamically turned on/off as soon as other VCPUs enter/leave the stopped state. When this facility is operating, some instructions can be executed faster for single-cpu guests. 2014-04-29KVM: s390: introduce kvm_s390_vcpu_{start,stop}David Hildenbrand
This patch introduces two new functions to set/clear the CPUSTAT_STOPPED bit and makes use of it at all applicable places. These functions prepare the additional execution of code when starting/stopping a vcpu. The CPUSTAT_STOPPED bit should not be touched outside of these functions. 2013-01-07KVM: s390: Add support for channel I/O instructions.Cornelia Huck
Add a new capability, KVM_CAP_S390_CSS_SUPPORT, which will pass intercepts for channel I/O instructions to userspace. Only I/O instructions interacting with I/O interrupts need to be handled in-kernel: - TEST PENDING INTERRUPTION (tpi) dequeues and stores pending interrupts entirely in-kernel. - TEST SUBCHANNEL (tsch) dequeues pending interrupts in-kernel and exits via KVM_EXIT_S390_TSCH to userspace for subchannel- related processing. 2013-01-07KVM: s390: Add support for machine checks.Cornelia Huck
Add support for injecting machine checks (only repressible conditions for now). This is a bit more involved than I/O interrupts, for these reasons: - Machine checks come in both floating and cpu varieties. - We don't have a bit for machine checks enabling, but have to use a roundabout approach with trapping PSW changing instructions and watching for opened machine checks.
