2010-02-05sh: Fix up hp6xx build.Paul Mundt
With the sparseirq conversion there was a stray irq_desc reference left over, this tidies it up and brings the demuxer in line with what the solution engine boards are doing. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
2010-02-02sh: hd6446x: Convert to sparseirq.Paul Mundt
Follows the se7724 change and converts the hd64461 IRQ handling to sparseirq. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
2010-01-26sh: Mass ctrl_in/outX to __raw_read/writeX conversion.Paul Mundt
The old ctrl in/out routines are non-portable and unsuitable for cross-platform use. While drivers/sh has already been sanitized, there is still quite a lot of code that is not. This converts the arch/sh/ bits over, which permits us to flag the routines as deprecated whilst still building with -Werror for the architecture code, and to ensure that future users are not added. 2009-05-20sh: mach-hp6xx: Fix up the hp6xx build for hd64461 changes.Paul Mundt

2009-03-20sh: fix the HD64461 level-triggered interrupts handlingRafael Ignacio Zurita
Rework the hd64461 demuxer code to fix the HD64461 level-triggered interrupts handling, using handle_level_irq() as needed. Signed-off-by: Rafael Ignacio Zurita <rizurita@yahoo.com> Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
2008-12-22sh: Switch HD64461 from hw_interrupt_type to irq_chipMatt Fleming
Use struct irq_chip for the interrupt handler for the HD64461. Also convert some in{b,w} and out{b,w} calls to the equivalent __raw_* calls. Include <linux/io.h> and not <asm/io.h> to stop checkpatch.pl complaining. This change should now allow machines with HD64461 to define GENERIC_HARDIRQS_NO__DO_IRQ. 2008-10-28sh: Kill off long-dead HD64465 cchip support.Paul Mundt
This code has been dead for many years. The last update it received was in 2003 in order to update it for the driver model changes, though it had already been in disarray and unused before that point. The only boards that ever used this chip have not had users in many years either, so it is finally safe to just kill it off and move on with life. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>

Kill off the hd64461 io.c, as all of the hd64461 users are now using the generic I/O routines. [ hd64461/ moved to hd64461.c by Paul ] Signed-off-by: Kristoffer Ericson <kristoffer.ericson@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>

2006-09-27sh: Cleanup IRQ disabling for hardirq handlers.Paul Mundt
The generic hardirq layer already takes care of a lot of the appropriate locking and disabling for us, no need to duplicate it in the handlers.. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
2006-09-27sh: Consolidated SH7751/SH7780 PCI support.Paul Mundt
This cleans up quite a lot of the PCI mess that we currently have, and attempts to consolidate the duplication in the SH7780 and SH7751 PCI controllers. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>
2006-09-27sh: Move hd64461.h to a more sensible location.Paul Mundt
With the I/O rework for hd64461 we're down to a single header, so move it by itself and get rid of the directory. Signed-off-by: Paul Mundt <lethal@linux-sh.org>

2006-06-29[PATCH] genirq: rename desc->handler to desc->chipIngo Molnar
This patch-queue improves the generic IRQ layer to be truly generic, by adding various abstractions and features to it, without impacting existing functionality. While the queue can be best described as "fix and improve everything in the generic IRQ layer that we could think of", and thus it consists of many smaller features and lots of cleanups, the one feature that stands out most is the new 'irq chip' abstraction. The irq-chip abstraction is about describing and coding and IRQ controller driver by mapping its raw hardware capabilities [and quirks, if needed] in a straightforward way, without having to think about "IRQ flow" (level/edge/etc.) type of details. This stands in contrast with the current 'irq-type' model of genirq architectures, which 'mixes' raw hardware capabilities with 'flow' details. The patchset supports both types of irq controller designs at once, and converts i386 and x86_64 to the new irq-chip design. As a bonus side-effect of the irq-chip approach, chained interrupt controllers (master/slave PIC constructs, etc.) are now supported by design as well. The end result of this patchset intends to be simpler architecture-level code and more consolidation between architectures. We reused many bits of code and many concepts from Russell King's ARM IRQ layer, the merging of which was one of the motivations for this patchset. This patch: rename desc->handler to desc->chip. Originally i did not want to do this, because it's a big patch. But having both "desc->handler", "desc->handle_irq" and "action->handler" caused a large degree of confusion and made the code appear alot less clean than it truly is. I have also attempted a dual approach as well by introducing a desc->chip alias - but that just wasnt robust enough and broke frequently. So lets get over with this quickly. The conversion was done automatically via scripts and converts all the code in the kernel. This renaming patch is the first one amongst the patches, so that the remaining patches can stay flexible and can be merged and split up without having some big monolithic patch act as a merge barrier. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
