2010-05-06ACPICA: Clarify/rename some root table descriptor fieldsBob Moore
Original fields were not very descriptive and led to maintenance problems. New fields should help to understand the existing code. Signed-off-by: Bob Moore <robert.moore@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Lin Ming <ming.m.lin@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>
2010-04-20ACPICA: Update DSDT copy/detection.Bob Moore
Move initialization of DSDT pointer. Emit address of DSDT in the dump of both table headers (good/bad DSDT). Now handles the case where the root table can be reallocated, which would invalidate the original pointer. 2010-04-20ACPICA: Add subsystem option to force copy of DSDT to local memoryLin Ming
Optionally copy the entire DSDT to local memory (instead of simply mapping it.) There are some BIOSs that corrupt or replace the original DSDT, creating the need for this option. Default is FALSE, do not copy the DSDT. https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14679 Signed-off-by: Lin Ming <ming.m.lin@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Bob Moore <robert.moore@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>
2010-04-20ACPICA: Add detection of corrupted/replaced DSDTLin Ming
This change adds support to detect a DSDT that has been corrupted and/or replaced from outside the OS (by firmware). This is typically catastrophic for the system, but has been seen on some machines. https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14679 Signed-off-by: Lin Ming <ming.m.lin@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Bob Moore <robert.moore@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>
2010-04-20ACPICA: Fix for acpi_reallocate_root_table for incorrect root table copyAlexey Starikovskiy
When copying the root table to the new allocation, the length used was incorrect. The new size was used instead of the current table size, meaning too much data was copied. 2010-01-22ACPICA: Update all ACPICA copyrights and signons to 2010Bob Moore
Add 2010 copyright to all module headers and signons, including the Linux header. This affects virtually every file in the ACPICA core subsystem, iASL compiler, and all utilities. 2009-03-26ACPICA: Remove extraneous parameter in table managerBob Moore
Removed the Flags parameter from several internal functions since it was not being used. Signed-off-by: Bob Moore <robert.moore@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Lin Ming <ming.m.lin@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com>
2009-03-26ACPICA: Allow OS override of all ACPI tablesBob Moore
Previously, the table override mechanism was implemented for the DSDT only. Now, any table in the RSDT/XSDT can be replaced by the host OS. (including the DSDT). 2009-02-09acpi/x86: introduce __apci_map_table, v4Yinghai Lu
to prevent wrongly overwriting fixmap that still want to use. ACPI used to rely on low mappings being all linearly mapped and grew a habit: it never really unmapped certain kinds of tables after use. This can cause problems - for example the hypothetical case when some spurious access still references it. v2: remove prev_map and prev_size in __apci_map_table v3: let acpi_os_unmap_memory() call early_iounmap too, so remove extral calling to early_acpi_os_unmap_memory v4: fix typo in one acpi_get_table_with_size calling Signed-off-by: Yinghai Lu <yhlu.kernel@gmail.com> Acked-by: Len Brown <len.brown@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Ingo Molnar <mingo@elte.hu>
