2013-04-25ata_piix: Fix DVD not dectected at some Haswell platformsYouquan Song

There is a quirk patch 5e5a4f5d5a08c9c504fe956391ac3dae2c66556d "ata_piix: make DVD Drive recognisable on systems with Intel Sandybridge chipsets(v2)" fixing the 4 ports IDE controller 32bit PIO mode. We've hit a problem with DVD not recognized on Haswell Desktop platform which includes Lynx Point 2-port SATA controller. This quirk patch disables 32bit PIO on this controller in IDE mode. v2: Change spelling error in statememnt pointed by Sergei Shtylyov. v3: Change comment statememnt and spliting line over 80 characters pointed by Libor Pechacek and also rebase the patch against 3.8-rc7 kernel. This patch sets dma_mode to 0xff in reset function, so that ata_dma_enabled will not return true for this case, or it will cause problem for pata_acpi. 2013-01-03sata_promise: fix hardreset lockdep errorMikael Pettersson
commit 3100d49d3cd236443faae9d81137c81b22d36003 upstream. sata_promise's pdc_hard_reset_port() needs to serialize because it flips a port-specific bit in controller register that's shared by all ports. The code takes the ata host lock for this, but that's broken because an interrupt may arrive on our irq during the hard reset sequence, and that too will take the ata host lock. With lockdep enabled a big nasty warning is seen. Fixed by adding private state to the ata host structure, containing a second lock used only for serializing the hard reset sequences. This eliminated the lockdep warnings both on my test rig and on the original reporter's machine. 2012-10-10Prevent interface errors with Seagate FreeAgent GoFlexDaniel J Blueman
commit c531077f40abc9f2129c4c83a30b3f8d6ce1c0e7 upstream. When using my Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex eSATAp external disk enclosure, interface errors are always seen until 1.5Gbps is negotiated [1]. This occurs using any disk in the enclosure, and when the disk is connected directly with a generic passive eSATAp cable, we see stable 3Gbps operation as expected. Blacklist 3Gbps mode to avoid dataloss and the ~30s delay bus reset and renegotiation incurs. 2012-05-11libata: skip old error history when counting probe trialsLin Ming
commit 6868225e3e92399068be9a5f1635752d91012ad5 upstream. Commit d902747("[libata] Add ATA transport class") introduced ATA_EFLAG_OLD_ER to mark entries in the error ring as cleared. But ata_count_probe_trials_cb() didn't check this flag and it still counts the old error history. So wrong probe trials count is returned and it causes problem, for example, SATA link speed is slowed down from 3.0Gbps to 1.5Gbps. Fix it by checking ATA_EFLAG_OLD_ER in ata_count_probe_trials_cb(). 2011-11-09[libata] Issue SRST to Sil3726 PMPGwendal Grignou
Reenable sending SRST to devices connected behind a Sil3726 PMP. This allow staggered spinups and handles drives that spins up slowly. While the drives spin up, the PMP will not accept SRST. Most controller reissues the reset until the drive is ready, while some [Sil3124] returns an error. In ata_eh_error, wait 10s before reset the ATA port and try again. Always use ata_sff_data_xfer32() in ata_sff_data_xfer_noirq() so the latter can be also used for host controllers supporting 32-bit PIO operations. It is a completely safe thing to do because if 32-bit PIO is not supported or enabled ata_sff_data_xfer32() will fallback to a standard method.
