Add new 'unique_id' sysfs attribute to expose SoC unique ID Signed-off-by: Bhuvanchandra DV <bhuvanchandra.dv@toradex.com> Acked-by: Max Krummenacher <max.krummenacher@toradex.com> (cherry picked from commit 8a098f2f1b8ae277a38ee0c5e0b974d5baa8dd01)
2016-08-31base: soc: make it explicitly non-modularPaul Gortmaker
The Kconfig currently controlling compilation of this code is: drivers/base/Kconfig:config SOC_BUS drivers/base/Kconfig: bool ...meaning that it currently is not being built as a module by anyone. Lets remove the modular code that is essentially orphaned, so that when reading the driver there is no doubt it is builtin-only. Since module_init was not in use by this code, the init ordering remains unchanged with this commit. 2012-02-10drivers/base: add bus for System-on-Chip devicesLee Jones
Traditionally, any System-on-Chip based platform creates a flat list of platform_devices directly under /sys/devices/platform. In order to give these some better structure, this introduces a new bus type for soc_devices that are registered with the new soc_device_register() function. All devices that are on the same chip should then be registered as child devices of the soc device. The soc bus also exports a few standardised device attributes which allow user space to query the specific type of soc.
