2014-08-04hwmon: (atxp1) Convert to devm_hwmon_device_register_with_groupsAxel Lin
Use ATTRIBUTE_GROUPS macro and devm_hwmon_device_register_with_groups. This simplifies the code a bit. Signed-off-by: Axel Lin <axel.lin@ingics.com> Signed-off-by: Guenter Roeck <linux@roeck-us.net>
2014-06-12hwmon: (atxp1) Avoid forward declarationAxel Lin
Move atxp1_id and atxp1_driver to proper place to avoid forward declaration. Signed-off-by: Axel Lin <axel.lin@ingics.com> Signed-off-by: Guenter Roeck <linux@roeck-us.net>
2014-04-04hwmon: Avoid initializing the same field twiceJean Delvare
All hwmon drivers allocate their data structure with some form of kzalloc, so setting data fields to zero explicitly is a waste of time. Signed-off-by: Jean Delvare <jdelvare@suse.de> Reviewed-by: Guenter Roeck <linux@roeck-us.net>
2013-10-13hwmon: (atxp1) Set and use error code from vid_to_reg()Guenter Roeck
vid_to_reg() returns -1 if it encounters an error. Return -EINVAL instead. Its only caller, atxp1_storevcore(), doesn't use the return code but returns -1 instead, which is wrong anyway as it means -EPERM. Use the return value from vid_to_reg() instead to report the error. 2010-03-30include cleanup: Update gfp.h and slab.h includes to prepare for breaking ↵Tejun Heo
implicit slab.h inclusion from percpu.h percpu.h is included by sched.h and module.h and thus ends up being included when building most .c files. percpu.h includes slab.h which in turn includes gfp.h making everything defined by the two files universally available and complicating inclusion dependencies. percpu.h -> slab.h dependency is about to be removed. Prepare for this change by updating users of gfp and slab facilities include those headers directly instead of assuming availability. As this conversion needs to touch large number of source files, the following script is used as the basis of conversion. http://userweb.kernel.org/~tj/misc/slabh-sweep.py The script does the followings. * Scan files for gfp and slab usages and update includes such that only the necessary includes are there. ie. if only gfp is used, gfp.h, if slab is used, slab.h. * When the script inserts a new include, it looks at the include blocks and try to put the new include such that its order conforms to its surrounding. It's put in the include block which contains core kernel includes, in the same order that the rest are ordered - alphabetical, Christmas tree, rev-Xmas-tree or at the end if there doesn't seem to be any matching order. * If the script can't find a place to put a new include (mostly because the file doesn't have fitting include block), it prints out an error message indicating which .h file needs to be added to the file. The conversion was done in the following steps. 1. The initial automatic conversion of all .c files updated slightly over 4000 files, deleting around 700 includes and adding ~480 gfp.h and ~3000 slab.h inclusions. The script emitted errors for ~400 files. 2. Each error was manually checked. Some didn't need the inclusion, some needed manual addition while adding it to implementation .h or embedding .c file was more appropriate for others. This step added inclusions to around 150 files. 3. The script was run again and the output was compared to the edits from #2 to make sure no file was left behind. 4. Several build tests were done and a couple of problems were fixed. e.g. lib/decompress_*.c used malloc/free() wrappers around slab APIs requiring slab.h to be added manually. 5. The script was run on all .h files but without automatically editing them as sprinkling gfp.h and slab.h inclusions around .h files could easily lead to inclusion dependency hell. Most gfp.h inclusion directives were ignored as stuff from gfp.h was usually wildly available and often used in preprocessor macros. Each slab.h inclusion directive was examined and added manually as necessary. 6. percpu.h was updated not to include slab.h. 7. Build test were done on the following configurations and failures were fixed. CONFIG_GCOV_KERNEL was turned off for all tests (as my distributed build env didn't work with gcov compiles) and a few more options had to be turned off depending on archs to make things build (like ipr on powerpc/64 which failed due to missing writeq). * x86 and x86_64 UP and SMP allmodconfig and a custom test config. * powerpc and powerpc64 SMP allmodconfig * sparc and sparc64 SMP allmodconfig * ia64 SMP allmodconfig * s390 SMP allmodconfig * alpha SMP allmodconfig * um on x86_64 SMP allmodconfig 8. percpu.h modifications were reverted so that it could be applied as a separate patch and serve as bisection point. Given the fact that I had only a couple of failures from tests on step 6, I'm fairly confident about the coverage of this conversion patch. If there is a breakage, it's likely to be something in one of the arch headers which should be easily discoverable easily on most builds of the specific arch. 2009-12-14i2c: Drop I2C_CLIENT_INSMOD_1Jean Delvare

2006-01-05[PATCH] I2C: Remove .owner setting from i2c_driver as it's no longer neededGreg Kroah-Hartman
Now that i2c_add_driver() doesn't need the module owner to be set by hand, we can delete it from the drivers. This patch catches all of the drivers that I found in the current tree (if a driver sets the .owner by hand, it's not a problem, just not needed.) 2006-01-05[PATCH] i2c: Drop i2c_driver.{owner,name}, 3 of 11Laurent Riffard
We should use the i2c_driver.driver's .name and .owner fields instead of the i2c_driver's ones. This patch updates the hwmon drivers. Signed-off-by: Laurent Riffard <laurent.riffard@free.fr> Signed-off-by: Jean Delvare <khali@linux-fr.org> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2006-01-05[PATCH] i2c: Drop i2c_driver.flags, 2 of 3Jean Delvare
Just about every i2c chip driver sets the I2C_DF_NOTIFY flag, so we can simply make it the default and drop the flag. If any driver really doesn't want to be notified when i2c adapters are added, that driver can simply omit to set .attach_adapter. This approach is also more robust as it prevents accidental NULL pointer dereferences. Signed-off-by: Jean Delvare <khali@linux-fr.org> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>

2005-10-28[PATCH] hwmon: Missing class check in two hwmon driversJean Delvare
The atxp1 and ds1621 drivers should make sure they do not probe non-hwmon i2c adapters. Signed-off-by: Jean Delvare <khali@linux-fr.org> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2005-09-05[PATCH] hwmon: hwmon vs i2c, second round (07/11)Jean Delvare
The only part left in i2c-sensor is the VRM/VRD/VID handling code. This is in no way related to i2c, so it doesn't belong there. Move the code to hwmon, where it belongs. Note that not all hardware monitoring drivers do VRM/VRD/VID operations, so less drivers depend on hwmon-vid than there were depending on i2c-sensor. Signed-off-by: Jean Delvare <khali@linux-fr.org> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2005-09-05[PATCH] hwmon: hwmon vs i2c, second round (06/11)Jean Delvare
The only thing left in i2c-sensor.h are module parameter definition macros. It's only an extension of what i2c.h offers, and this extension is not sensors-specific. As a matter of fact, a few non-sensors drivers use them. So we better merge them in i2c.h, and get rid of i2c-sensor.h altogether. 2005-09-05[PATCH] hwmon: hwmon vs i2c, second round (04/11)Jean Delvare
i2c_probe and i2c_detect now do the exact same thing and operate on the same data structure, so we can have everyone call i2c_probe. Signed-off-by: Jean Delvare <khali@linux-fr.org> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2005-09-05[PATCH] I2C: Separate non-i2c hwmon drivers from i2c-core (7/9)Jean Delvare
Kill normal_isa in header files, documentation and all chip drivers, as it is no more used. normal_i2c could be renamed to normal, but I decided not to do so at the moment, so as to limit the number of changes. This might be done later as part of the i2c_probe/i2c_detect merge. Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2005-09-05[PATCH] I2C hwmon: add hwmon sysfs class to driversMark M. Hoffman

2005-07-11[PATCH] I2C: Move hwmon drivers (2/3)Jean Delvare
Part 2: Move the driver files themselves. Note that the patch "adds trailing whitespace", because it does move the files as-is, and some files happen to have trailing whitespace. From: Jean Delvare <khali@linux-fr.org> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
