2018-03-24media: [RESEND] media: dvb-frontends: Add delay to Si2168 restartRon Economos
[ Upstream commit 380a6c86457573aa42d27ae11e025eb25941a0b7 ] On faster CPUs a delay is required after the resume command and the restart command. Without the delay, the restart command often returns -EREMOTEIO and the Si2168 does not restart. Note that this patch fixes the same issue as https://patchwork.linuxtv.org/patch/44304/, but I believe my udelay() fix addresses the actual problem. 2016-10-28mb86a20s: fix demod settingsMauro Carvalho Chehab
commit 505a0ea706fc1db4381baa6c6bd2e596e730a55e upstream. With the current settings, only one channel locks properly. That's likely because, when this driver was written, Brazil were still using experimental transmissions. Change it to reproduce the settings used by the newer drivers. That makes it lock on other channels. Tested with both PixelView SBTVD Hybrid (cx231xx-based) and C3Tech Digital Duo HDTV/SDTV (em28xx-based) devices. 2016-10-28mb86a20s: fix the locking logicMauro Carvalho Chehab
commit dafb65fb98d85d8e78405e82c83e81975e5d5480 upstream. On this frontend, it takes a while to start output normal TS data. That only happens on state S9. On S8, the TS output is enabled, but it is not reliable enough. However, the zigzag loop is too fast to let it sync. As, on practical tests, the zigzag software loop doesn't seem to be helping, but just slowing down the tuning, let's switch to hardware algorithm, as the tuners used on such devices are capable of work with frequency drifts without any help from software. 2016-03-03tda1004x: only update the frontend properties if lockedMauro Carvalho Chehab
commit e8beb02343e7582980c6705816cd957cf4f74c7a upstream. The tda1004x was updating the properties cache before locking. If the device is not locked, the data at the registers are just random values with no real meaning. This caused the driver to fail with libdvbv5, as such library calls GET_PROPERTY from time to time, in order to return the DVB stats. 2015-08-22[media] dvb: Use DVBFE_ALGO_HW where applicableMauro Carvalho Chehab
The dvb_frontend.c core defines a FE_ALGO_HW symbol that it is never used. Also, both cx24123 returns 1 to get_algo() callback instead of using DVBFE_ALGO_HW. Probably, those are some left overs from some code cleanup. Let's stop returning magic numbers and use the proper macro value. 2015-08-11[media] stv0367: Add support for 16Mhz reference clockPeter Griffin
The B2100A dvb NIM card from ST has 2x stv0367 demodulators and 2x TDA18212 silicon tuners, with a 16Mhz crystal. To get this working properly with the upstream driver we need to add support for the 16Mhz reference clock. 2015-08-11[media] stv0367: Refine i2c error trace to include i2c addressPeter Griffin
When using stv0367 demodulator with STi STB platforms, we can have easily have four or more stv0367 demods running in the system at one time. As typically the b2120 reference design ships with a b2004a daughter board, which can accept two dvb NIM cards, and each b2100A NIM has 2x stv0367 demods and 2x NXPs tuner on it. In such circumstances it is useful to print the i2c address on error messages to know which one is failing due to I2C issues. 2015-08-11[media] ascot2e: don't use variable length arraysMauro Carvalho Chehab
The Linux stack is short; we need to be able to count the number of bytes used at stack on each function. So, we don't like to use variable-length arrays, as complained by smatch: drivers/media/dvb-frontends/horus3a.c:57:19: warning: Variable length array is used. The max usecase of the driver seems to be 10 bytes + 1 for the register. So, let's be safe and allocate 11 bytes for the write buffer. This should be enough to cover all cases. If not, let's print an error message. Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@osg.samsung.com>
