2015-03-26bnx2x: Force fundamental reset for EEH recoveryBrian King
commit da293700568ed3d96fcf062ac15d7d7c41377f11 upstream. EEH recovery for bnx2x based adapters is not reliable on all Power systems using the default hot reset, which can result in an unrecoverable EEH error. 2015-01-27tg3: tg3_disable_ints using uninitialized mailbox value to disable interruptsPrashant Sreedharan
[ Upstream commit 05b0aa579397b734f127af58e401a30784a1e315 ] During driver load in tg3_init_one, if the driver detects DMA activity before intializing the chip tg3_halt is called. As part of tg3_halt interrupts are disabled using routine tg3_disable_ints. This routine was using mailbox value which was not initialized (default value is 0). As a result driver was writing 0x00000001 to pci config space register 0, which is the vendor id / device id. This driver bug was exposed because of the commit a7877b17a667 (PCI: Check only the Vendor ID to identify Configuration Request Retry). Also this issue is only seen in older generation chipsets like 5722 because config space write to offset 0 from driver is possible. The newer generation chips ignore writes to offset 0. Also without commit a7877b17a667, for these older chips when a GRC reset is issued the Bootcode would reprogram the vendor id/device id, which is the reason this bug was masked earlier. Fixed by initializing the interrupt mailbox registers before calling tg3_halt. Please queue for -stable. 2014-10-15tg3: Allow for recieve of full-size 8021AD framesVlad Yasevich
[ Upstream commit 7d3083ee36b51e425b6abd76778a2046906b0fd3 ] When receiving a vlan-tagged frame that still contains a vlan header, the length of the packet will be greater then MTU+ETH_HLEN since it will account of the extra vlan header. TG3 checks this for the case for 802.1Q, but not for 802.1ad. As a result, full sized 802.1ad frames get dropped by the card. Add a check for 802.1ad protocol when receving full sized frames. 2014-10-15tg3: Work around HW/FW limitations with vlan encapsulated framesVlad Yasevich
[ Upstream commit 476c18850c6cbaa3f2bb661ae9710645081563b9 ] TG3 appears to have an issue performing TSO and checksum offloading correclty when the frame has been vlan encapsulated (non-accelrated). In these cases, tcp checksum is not correctly updated. This patch attempts to work around this issue. After the patch, 802.1ad vlans start working correctly over tg3 devices. 2014-05-31tg3: update rx_jumbo_pending ring param only when jumbo frames are enabledIvan Vecera
The patch fixes a problem with dropped jumbo frames after usage of 'ethtool -G ... rx'. Scenario: 1. ip link set eth0 up 2. ethtool -G eth0 rx N # <- This zeroes rx-jumbo 3. ip link set mtu 9000 dev eth0 The ethtool command set rx_jumbo_pending to zero so any received jumbo packets are dropped and you need to use 'ethtool -G eth0 rx-jumbo N' to workaround the issue. The patch changes the logic so rx_jumbo_pending value is changed only if jumbo frames are enabled (MTU > 1500). 2014-03-18cnic,bnx2i,bnx2fc: Fix inconsistent use of page sizeMichael Chan
The bnx2/bnx2x rings are made up of linked pages. However there is an upper limit on the page size as some the page size settings are 16-bit in the hardware/firmware interface. In the current code, some parts use BNX2_PAGE_SIZE which has a 16K upper limit and some parts use PAGE_SIZE. On archs with >= 64K PAGE_SIZE, it generates some compile warnings. Define a new CNIC_PAGE_SZIE which has an upper limit of 16K and use it consistently in all relevant parts. 2014-03-18cnic: Use proper ulp_ops for per device operations.Michael Chan
For per device operations, cnic needs to dereference the RCU protected cp->ulp_ops instead of the global cnic_ulp_tbl. In 2 locations, cnic_send_nlmsg() and cnic_copy_ulp_stats(), it was referencing the global table. If the device has been unregistered and these functions are still being called (very unlikely scenarios), it could lead to NULL pointer dereference. 2014-03-09bnx2: Fix shutdown sequenceMichael Chan
The pci shutdown handler added in: bnx2: Add pci shutdown handler commit 25bfb1dd4ba3b2d9a49ce9d9b0cd7be1840e15ed created a shutdown down sequence without chip reset if the device was never brought up. This can cause the firmware to shutdown the PHY prematurely and cause MMIO read cycles to be unresponsive. On some systems, it may generate NMI in the bnx2's pci shutdown handler. 2014-02-17netdevice: add queue selection fallback handler for ndo_select_queueDaniel Borkmann
Add a new argument for ndo_select_queue() callback that passes a fallback handler. This gets invoked through netdev_pick_tx(); fallback handler is currently __netdev_pick_tx() as most drivers invoke this function within their customized implementation in case for skbs that don't need any special handling. This fallback handler can then be replaced on other call-sites with different queue selection methods (e.g. in packet sockets, pktgen etc). This also has the nice side-effect that __netdev_pick_tx() is then only invoked from netdev_pick_tx() and export of that function to modules can be undone. Suggested-by: David S. 2014-02-06bnx2x: Allow VF rss on higher PFsYuval Mintz
bnx2x driver uses incorrect PF identifier to configure (in HW) the VF interrupt scheme; As a result, in multi-function mode the configuration for PFs with a high index (4+) will overflow and the PF will erroneously configure a single ISR scheme for its VFs. Quoting David Vrabel - "5780 cards cannot have jumbo frames and TSO enabled together. When jumbo frames are enabled by setting the MTU, the TSO feature must be cleared. 2014-01-27bnx2x: More Shutdown revisionsYuval Mintz

2014-01-15bnx2x: Don't release PCI bars on shutdownYuval Mintz
The bnx2x driver in its pci shutdown() callback releases its pci bars (in the same manner it does during its pci remove() callback). During a system reboot while VFs are enabled, its possible for the VF's remove to be called (as a result of pci_disable_sriov()) after its shutdown callback has already finished running; This will cause a paging request fault as the VF tries to access the pci bar which it has previously released, crashing the system. 2014-01-10net: core: explicitly select a txq before doing l2 forwardingJason Wang
Currently, the tx queue were selected implicitly in ndo_dfwd_start_xmit(). The will cause several issues: - NETIF_F_LLTX were removed for macvlan, so txq lock were done for macvlan instead of lower device which misses the necessary txq synchronization for lower device such as txq stopping or frozen required by dev watchdog or control path. - dev_hard_start_xmit() was called with NULL txq which bypasses the net device watchdog. - dev_hard_start_xmit() does not check txq everywhere which will lead a crash when tso is disabled for lower device. Fix this by explicitly introducing a new param for .ndo_select_queue() for just selecting queues in the case of l2 forwarding offload. netdev_pick_tx() was also extended to accept this parameter and dev_queue_xmit_accel() was used to do l2 forwarding transmission. With this fixes, NETIF_F_LLTX could be preserved for macvlan and there's no need to check txq against NULL in dev_hard_start_xmit(). Also there's no need to keep a dedicated ndo_dfwd_start_xmit() and we can just reuse the code of dev_queue_xmit() to do the transmission. In the future, it was also required for macvtap l2 forwarding support since it provides a necessary synchronization method. bnx2x triggers warnings with CONFIG_DMA_API_DEBUG=y: WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 2253 at lib/dma-debug.c:887 check_unmap+0xf8/0x920() bnx2x 0000:28:00.0: DMA-API: device driver frees DMA memory with different size [device address=0x00000000da2b389e] [map size=1490 bytes] [unmap size=66 bytes] The reason is that bnx2x splits a TSO BD into two BDs (headers + data) using one DMA mapping for both, but it uses only the length of the first BD when unmapping. This patch fixes the bug by unmapping the whole length of the two BDs. 2014-01-09bnx2x: prevent WARN during driver unloadYuval Mintz
Starting with commit 80c33dd "net: add might_sleep() call to napi_disable" bnx2x fails the might_sleep tests causing a stack trace to appear whenever the driver is unloaded, as local_bh_disable() is being called before napi_disable(). This changes the locking schematics related to CONFIG_NET_RX_BUSY_POLL, preventing the need for calling local_bh_disable() and thus eliminating the issue. 2014-01-05bnx2x: fix VLAN configuration for VFs.Yuval Mintz
If the hypervisor configures a vlan for the VF via the PF, the expected result is that only packets tagged by said vlan will be received by the VF (and that vlan will be silently removed). Due to an incorrect manipulation of vlan filters in the driver, the VF can receive untagged traffic even if the hypervisor configured some vlan for it. This patch corrects the behaviour. 2014-01-05bnx2x: fix AFEX memory overflowYuval Mintz
There are 2 different (related) flows in the slowpath configuration that utilize the same pointer and cast it to different structs; This is obviously incorrect as the intended allocated memory is that of the smaller struct, possibly causing the flow utilizing the larger struct to corrupt other slowpath configuration. Since both flows are exclusive, set the allocated memory to be a union of both structs. 2014-01-05bnx2x: Clean before update RSS arrivesMichal Kalderon
When a PF receives a VF message indicating a change in RSS properties it should clean the flags' bit-fields; Otherwise, it's possible that some random values will be considered as flags by the lower layers configuring the RSS in FW. 2014-01-05bnx2x: Correct number of MSI-X vectors for VFsMichal Kalderon
Number of VFs in PCIe configuration space is zero-based. Driver incorrectly sets the number of VFs to be larger by one than what actually is feasible by HW, which might cause later VFs to fail to allocate their MSI-X interrupts. 2014-01-04bgmac: add support for Northstar SoC (BCM4707, BCM53018)Hauke Mehrtens
This adds support for the Northstar SoC. This SoC does not have a PMU in bcma and no register on it should be called. In addition it support 2.5 GBit/s Ethernet to the PHY. This GMAC core is not fully working there are still problems with the DMA controller. Signed-off-by: Hauke Mehrtens <hauke@hauke-m.de> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
