2016-08-31net: hisilicon: constify ethtool_ops structuresJulia Lawall
Check for ethtool_ops structures that are only stored in the ethtool_ops field of a net_device structure or passed as the second argument to netdev_set_default_ethtool_ops. These contexts are declared const, so ethtool_ops structures that have these properties can be declared as const also. The semantic patch that makes this change is as follows: (http://coccinelle.lip6.fr/) // <smpl> @r disable optional_qualifier@ identifier i; position p; @@ static struct ethtool_ops i@p = { ... }; @ok1@ identifier r.i; struct net_device e; position p; @@ e.ethtool_ops = &i@p; @ok2@ identifier r.i; expression e; position p; @@ netdev_set_default_ethtool_ops(e, &i@p) @bad@ position p != {r.p,ok1.p,ok2.p}; identifier r.i; @@ i@p @depends on !bad disable optional_qualifier@ identifier r.i; @@ static +const struct ethtool_ops i = { ... }; // </smpl> Signed-off-by: Julia Lawall <Julia.Lawall@lip6.fr> Signed-off-by: David S. 2016-06-28net: ethernet: hix5hd2: use phy_ethtool_{get|set}_link_ksettingsPhilippe Reynes
There are two generics functions phy_ethtool_{get|set}_link_ksettings, so we can use them instead of defining the same code in the driver. Signed-off-by: Philippe Reynes <tremyfr@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2016-06-28net: ethernet: hix5hd2: use phydev from struct net_devicePhilippe Reynes
The private structure contain a pointer to phydev, but the structure net_device already contain such pointer. So we can remove the pointer phy in the private structure, and update the driver to use the one contained in struct net_device. 2016-05-04treewide: replace dev->trans_start update with helperFlorian Westphal
Replace all trans_start updates with netif_trans_update helper. change was done via spatch: struct net_device *d; @@ - d->trans_start = jiffies + netif_trans_update(d) Compile tested only. 2015-10-18net: hix5hd2_gmac: avoid integer overload warningArnd Bergmann
BITS_RX_EN is an 'unsigned long' constant, so the ones complement of that has bits set that do not fit into a 32-bit variable on 64-bit architectures, which causes a harmless gcc warning: drivers/net/ethernet/hisilicon/hix5hd2_gmac.c: In function 'hix5hd2_port_disable': drivers/net/ethernet/hisilicon/hix5hd2_gmac.c:374:2: warning: large integer implicitly truncated to unsigned type [-Woverflow] writel_relaxed(~(BITS_RX_EN | BITS_TX_EN), priv->base + PORT_EN); This adds a cast to (u32) to tell gcc that the code is indeed fine. 2015-05-14net: batch of last_rx update avoidance in ethernet drivers.françois romieu
None of those drivers uses last_rx for its own needs. See 4dc89133f49b8cfd77ba7e83f5960aed63aaa99e ("net: add a comment on netdev->last_rx") for reference. 2014-06-02net: hisilicon: add hix5hd2 mac driverZhangfei Gao
Add support for the hix5hd2 XGMAC 1Gb ethernet device. The controller requires two queues for tx and two queues for rx. Controller fetch buffer from free queue and then push to used queue. Diver should prepare free queue and free buffer from used queue. Signed-off-by: Zhangfei Gao <zhangfei.gao@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
