2017-03-30net/mlx5e: Count LRO packets correctlyGal Pressman
[ Upstream commit 8ab7e2ae15d84ba758b2c8c6f4075722e9bd2a08 ] RX packets statistics ('rx_packets' counter) used to count LRO packets as one, even though it contains multiple segments. This patch will increment the counter by the number of segments, and align the driver with the behavior of other drivers in the stack. Note that no information is lost in this patch due to 'rx_lro_packets' counter existence. Before, ethtool showed: $ ethtool -S ens6 | egrep "rx_packets|rx_lro_packets" rx_packets: 435277 rx_lro_packets: 35847 rx_packets_phy: 1935066 Now, we will see the more logical statistics: $ ethtool -S ens6 | egrep "rx_packets|rx_lro_packets" rx_packets: 1935066 rx_lro_packets: 35847 rx_packets_phy: 1935066 Fixes: e586b3b0baee ("net/mlx5: Ethernet Datapath files") Signed-off-by: Gal Pressman <galp@mellanox.com> Cc: kernel-team@fb.com Signed-off-by: Saeed Mahameed <saeedm@mellanox.com> Acked-by: Alexei Starovoitov <ast@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: David S. [ Upstream commit bd4ce941c8d5b862b2f83364be5dbe8fc8ab48f8 ] mlx4 may schedule napi from a workqueue. Afterwards, softirqs are not run in a deterministic time frame and the following message may be logged: NOHZ: local_softirq_pending 08 The problem is the same as what was described in commit ec13ee80145c ("virtio_net: invoke softirqs after __napi_schedule") and this patch applies the same fix to mlx4. [ Upstream commit 400fc0106dd8c27ed84781c929c1a184785b9c79 ] During transmission the skb is checked for headroom in order to add vendor specific header. In case the skb needs to be re-allocated, skb_realloc_headroom() is called to make a private copy of the original, but doesn't release it. Current code assumes that the original skb is released during reallocation and only releases it at the error path which causes a memory leak. 2016-10-28net/mlx4_core: Allow resetting VF admin mac to zeroJack Morgenstein
commit 6e5224224faa50ec4c8949dcefadf895e565f0d1 upstream. The VF administrative mac addresses (stored in the PF driver) are initialized to zero when the PF driver starts up. These addresses may be modified in the PF driver through ndo calls initiated by iproute2 or libvirt. While we allow the PF/host to change the VF admin mac address from zero to a valid unicast mac, we do not allow restoring the VF admin mac to zero. We currently only allow changing this mac to a different unicast mac. This leads to problems when libvirt scripts are used to deal with VF mac addresses, and libvirt attempts to revoke the mac so this host will not use it anymore. Fix this by allowing resetting a VF administrative MAC back to zero. 2016-09-30net/mlx5: Added missing check of msg length in verifying its signaturePaul Blakey
[ Upstream commit 2c0f8ce1b584a4d7b8ff53140d21dfed99834940 ] Set and verify signature calculates the signature for each of the mailbox nodes, even for those that are unused (from cache). Added a missing length check to set and verify only those which are used. While here, also moved the setting of msg's nodes token to where we already go over them. This saves a pass because checksum is disabled, and the only useful thing remaining that set signature does is setting the token. [ Upstream commit 925ab1aa9394bbaeac47ee5b65d3fdf0fb8135cf ] It's forbidden to manually change dev->features in run-time. Currently, this is done in the driver to make sure that GSO_UDP_TUNNEL is advertized only when VXLAN tunnel is set. 2016-03-03net/mlx4_en: Choose time-stamping shift value according to HW frequencyEugenia Emantayev
[ Upstream commit 31c128b66e5b28f468076e4f3ca3025c35342041 ] Previously, the shift value used for time-stamping was constant and didn't depend on the HW chip frequency. Change that to take the frequency into account and calculate the maximal value in cycles per wraparound of ten seconds. This time slot was chosen since it gives a good accuracy in time synchronization. Algorithm for shift value calculation: * Round up the maximal value in cycles to nearest power of two * Calculate maximal multiplier by division of all 64 bits set to above result * Then, invert the function clocksource_khz2mult() to get the shift from maximal mult value Fixes: ec693d47010e ('net/mlx4_en: Add HW timestamping (TS) support') Signed-off-by: Eugenia Emantayev <eugenia@mellanox.com> Reviewed-by: Matan Barak <matanb@mellanox.com> Signed-off-by: Or Gerlitz <ogerlitz@mellanox.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2016-03-03switchdev: Require RTNL mutex to be held when sending FDB notificationsIdo Schimmel
[ Upstream commit 4f2c6ae5c64c353fb1b0425e4747e5603feadba1 ] When switchdev drivers process FDB notifications from the underlying device they resolve the netdev to which the entry points to and notify the bridge using the switchdev notifier. However, since the RTNL mutex is not held there is nothing preventing the netdev from disappearing in the middle, which will cause br_switchdev_event() to dereference a non-existing netdev. Make switchdev drivers hold the lock at the beginning of the notification processing session and release it once it ends, after notifying the bridge. Also, remove switchdev_mutex and fdb_lock, as they are no longer needed when RTNL mutex is held. 2015-12-15net/mlx4_core: fix handling return value of mlx4_slave_convert_portAndrzej Hajda
The function can return negative values, so its result should be assigned to signed variable. The problem has been detected using proposed semantic patch scripts/coccinelle/tests/assign_signed_to_unsigned.cocci [1]. 2015-11-15net/mlx4_core: Fix sleeping while holding spinlock at rem_slave_countersEran Ben Elisha
When cleaning slave's counter resources, we hold a spinlock that protects the slave's counters list. As part of the clean, we call __mlx4_clear_if_stat which calls mlx4_alloc_cmd_mailbox which is a sleepable function. In order to fix this issue, hold the spinlock, and copy all counter indices into a temporary array, and release the spinlock. Afterwards, iterate over this array and free every counter. Repeat this scenario until the original list is empty (a new counter might have been added while releasing the counters from the temporary array). 2015-11-15net/mlx5e: Use the right DMA free function on TX pathAchiad Shochat
On xmit path we use skb_frag_dma_map() which is using dma_map_page(), while upon completion we dma-unmap the skb fragments using dma_unmap_single() rather than dma_unmap_page(). To fix this, we now save the dma map type on xmit path and use this info to call the right dma unmap method upon TX completion. 2015-11-15net/mlx5e: Added self loopback preventionTariq Toukan
Prevent outgoing multicast frames from looping back to the RX queue. By introducing new HW capability self_lb_en_modifiable, which indicates the support to modify self_lb_en bit in modify_tir command. When this capability is set we can prevent TIRs from sending back loopback multicast traffic to their own RQs, by "refreshing TIRs" with modify_tir command, on every time new channels (SQs/RQs) are created at device open. This is needed since TIRs are static and only allocated once on driver load, and the loopback decision is under their responsibility. Fixes issues of the kind: "IPv6: eth2: IPv6 duplicate address fe80::e61d:2dff:fe5c:f2e9 detected!" The issue is seen since the IPv6 solicitations multicast messages are loopedback and the network stack thinks they are coming from another host.
