2011-08-11mlx4: Move the Mellanox driverJeff Kirsher
Moves the Mellanox driver into drivers/net/ethernet/mellanox/ and make the necessary Kconfig and Makefile changes. CC: Roland Dreier <roland@kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Jeff Kirsher <jeffrey.t.kirsher@intel.com>
2011-07-18mlx4_core: Read extended capabilities into the flags fieldOr Gerlitz
Query another dword containing up to 32 extended device capabilities and merge it into struct mlx4_caps.flags. Update the code that handles the current extended device capabilities (e.g UDP RSS, WoL, vep steering, etc) to use the extended device cap flags field instead of a field per extended capability. Initial patch done by Eli Cohen <eli@mellanox.co.il>. Signed-off-by: Or Gerlitz <ogerlitz@mellanox.co.il> Signed-off-by: Roland Dreier <roland@purestorage.com>
2011-04-29ethtool: cosmetic: Use ethtool ethtool_cmd_speed APIDavid Decotigny
This updates the network drivers so that they don't access the ethtool_cmd::speed field directly, but use ethtool_cmd_speed() instead. For most of the drivers, these changes are purely cosmetic and don't fix any problem, such as for those 1GbE/10GbE drivers that indirectly call their own ethtool get_settings()/mii_ethtool_gset(). The changes are meant to enforce code consistency and provide robustness with future larger throughputs, at the expense of a few CPU cycles for each ethtool operation. All drivers compiled with make allyesconfig ion x86_64 have been updated. Tested: make allyesconfig on x86_64 + e1000e/bnx2x work Signed-off-by: David Decotigny <decot@google.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2011-04-29ethtool: Use full 32 bit speed range in ethtool's set_settingsDavid Decotigny
This makes sure the ethtool's set_settings() callback of network drivers don't ignore the 16 most significant bits when ethtool calls their set_settings(). All drivers compiled with make allyesconfig on x86_64 have been updated. Signed-off-by: David Decotigny <decot@google.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2011-03-23mlx4: Wake on LAN supportYevgeny Petrilin
The driver queries the FW for WOL support. Ethtool get/set_wol is implemented accordingly. Only magic packets are supported at the time. 2011-03-23mlx4_en: using new mlx4 interrupt schemeYevgeny Petrilin
Each RX ring will have its own interrupt vector, and TX rings will share one (we mostly use polling for TX completions). The vectors are assigned first time device is opened, and its name includes the interface name and ring number. In case that the rings were not fully filled, the report in Ethtool should be according to the actual size that was filled. Signed-off-by: Yevgeny Petrilin <yevgenyp@mellanox.co.il> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

The report now based on query from FW, giving the correct tranciever type and link speed. Signed-off-by: Yevgeny Petrilin <yevgenyp@mellanox.co.il> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2010-08-24mlx4_en: Added self diagnostics test implementationYevgeny Petrilin
The selftest includes 5 features: 1. Interrupt test: Executing commands and receiving command completion on all our interrupt vectors. 2. Link test: Verifying we are connected to valid link partner. 3. Speed test: Check that we negotiated link speed correctly. 4. Registers test: Activate HW health check command. 5. Loopback test: Send a packet on loopback interface and catch it on RX side. Signed-off-by: Yevgeny Petrilin <yevgenyp@mellanox.co.il> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2010-08-22mlx4: remove num_lro parameterAmerigo Wang
As suggested by David, this parameter can die, we can use ethtool to turn LRO on/off. Compile tests only. Signed-off-by: WANG Cong <amwang@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2010-06-28mlx4: add dynamic LRO disable supportAmerigo Wang
This patch adds dynamic LRO diable support for mlx4 net driver. It also fixes a bug of mlx4, which checks NETIF_F_LRO flag in rx path without rtnl lock. (I don't have mlx4 card, so only did compiling test. Anyone who wants to test this is more than welcome.) This is based on Neil's initial work too, and heavily modified based on Stanislaw's suggestions. 2010-05-14drivers/net: Remove unnecessary returns from void function()sJoe Perches
This patch removes from drivers/net/ all the unnecessary return; statements that precede the last closing brace of void functions. It does not remove the returns that are immediately preceded by a label as gcc doesn't like that. It also does not remove null void functions with return. Done via: $ grep -rP --include=*.[ch] -l "return;\n}" net/ | \ xargs perl -i -e 'local $/ ; while (<>) { s/\n[ \t\n]+return;\n}/\n}/g; print; }' with some cleanups by hand. Compile tested x86 allmodconfig only. Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2009-07-21drivers/net/mlx4: Adjust constantJulia Lawall
The values in the advertising field are typically ADVERTISED_xxx, not SUPPORTED_xxx. Both SUPPORTED_10000baseT_Full and ADVERTISED_1000baseT_Full have the same value. The semantic match that finds this problem is as follows: (http://www.emn.fr/x-info/coccinelle/) // <smpl> @@ struct ethtool_cmd E; @@ *E.advertising = SUPPORTED_10000baseT_Full // </smpl> Signed-off-by: Julia Lawall <julia@diku.dk> Signed-off-by: David S. 2009-06-02mlx4_en: Coalescing target is equal for all mtu'sYevgeny Petrilin
The interrupt moderation should not depend on number of incoming bytes, but on number of incoming packets. The previous scheme caused very high interrupts rate for small messages when big MTU was configured. Signed-off-by: Yevgeny Petrilin <yevgenyp@mellanox.co.il> Signed-off-by: David S.
