2011-04-14sfc: make function tables conststephen hemminger
The phy, mac, and board information structures should be const. Since tables contain function pointer this improves security (at least theoretically). Compile tested only. 2009-11-24sfc: Use a single blink implementationBen Hutchings
Only some PHYs have firmware support for a LED blink mode, so we currently blink the others in a timer function. Since all PHYs have simple on and off modes, we don't gain anything by using multiple blink implementations. Also, since we have a process context there is no need to use a timer. The 'XFP' driver is really a driver for the QT2022C2 and QT2025C PHYs, covering both more and less than XFP. During SFN4111T initialisation, check whether the PHY boot status indicates a bad firmware checksum. If so, prepare to reflash rather than continuing with normal initialisation. 2009-01-30sfc: SFX7101: Remove workaround for bad link trainingSteve Hodgson
Early versions of the SFX7101 firmware could complete link training in a state where it would not adequately cancel noise (Solarflare bug 10750). We previously worked around this by resetting the PHY after seeing many Ethernet CRC errors. This workaround is unsafe since it takes no account of the interval between errors; it also appears to be unnecessary with production firmware. Therefore remove it. This allows updating PHY firmware for one interface without removing all other interfaces handled by the driver. Replace tx_disabled flags and 10Xpress status enumeration with flags in enum efx_phy_mode. Prevent an interface from being brought up while in PHY flash mode.
