Make sure to check the number of endpoints to avoid dereferencing a
NULL-pointer or accessing memory beyond the endpoint array should a
malicious device lack the expected endpoints.

Command buffers (skb's) are allocated by the main driver, and freed upon
the last use. That last use is often in mwifiex_free_cmd_buffer(). In
the meantime, if the command buffer gets used by the PCI driver, we map
it as DMA-able, and store the mapping information in the 'cb' memory.
However, if a command was in-flight when resetting the device (and
therefore was still mapped), we don't get a chance to unmap this memory
until after the core has cleaned up its command handling.
Let's keep a refcount within the PCI driver, so we ensure the memory
only gets freed after we've finished unmapping it.
Noticed by KASAN when forcing a reset via:
echo 1 > /sys/bus/pci/.../reset
The same code path can presumably be exercised in remove() and
shutdown().

This bug has been around in different forms for a while. It was sort of
noticed in commit 955ab095c51a ("mwifiex: Do not kfree cmd buf while
unregistering PCIe"), but it just fixed the double-free, without
acknowledging the potential for use-after-free.

This event is used by the Firmware to limit the RX BA win size
for a specific link.
The event handler updates the new size in the mac's sta->sta struct.
BA sessions opened for that link will use the new restricted
win_size. This limitation remains until a new update is received or
until the link is closed.

When starting a new BA session, we must pass the win_size to the FW.
To do this we take max_rx_aggregation_subframes (BA RX win size)
which is stored in ieee80211_sta structure (e.g per link and not per HW)
We will use the value stored per link when passing the win_size to
firmware through the ACX_BA_SESSION_RX_SETUP command.

Currently mac80211 does not inform the driver of the session
block ack timeout when starting a rx aggregation session.
Drivers that manage the reorder buffer need to know this
parameter.
Seeing that there are now too many arguments for the
drv_ampdu_action() function, wrap them inside a structure.

The driver was making changes to the skb_header without
ensuring it was writable (i.e. uncloned).
This patch also removes some boiler plate header size
checking/adjustment code as that is also handled by the
skb_cow_header function used to make header writable.

The incoming skb header may be resized if header space is
insufficient, which might change the data adddress in the skb.
Ensure that a cached pointer to that data is correctly set by
moving assignment to after any possible changes.

This patch fixes the issue specific to AP. AP is started with WEP
security and external station is connected to it. Data path works
in this case. Now if AP is restarted with WPA/WPA2 security,
station is able to connect but ping fails.
Driver skips the deletion of WEP keys if interface type is AP.
Removing that redundant check resolves the issue.

We already ensure 64 bytes alignment and add padding if required
during skb_aggr allocation.
Alignment and padding in mwifiex_11n_form_amsdu_txpd() is redundant.
We may end up accessing more data than allocated size with this.

Similar to commit fcd2042e8d36 ("mwifiex: printk() overflow with 32-byte
SSIDs"), we failed to account for the existence of 32-char SSIDs in our
debugfs code. Unlike in that case though, we zeroed out the containing
struct first, and I'm pretty sure we're guaranteed to have some padding
after the 'ssid.ssid' and 'ssid.ssid_len' fields (the struct is 33 bytes
long).
So, this is the difference between:

The driver reads a value from hfa384x_from_bap(), which may fail,
and then assigns the value to a local variable. gcc detects that
in in the failure case, the 'rlen' variable now contains
uninitialized data:

The problem is due to rtl8192ce and rtl8192cu sharing routines, and having
different layouts of struct rtl_pci_priv, which is used by rtl8192ce, and
struct rtl_usb_priv, which is used by rtl8192cu. The problem was resolved
by placing the struct bt_coexist_info at the head of each of those private
areas.

The addresses of Wlan NIC registers are natural alignment, but some
drivers have bugs. These are evident on platforms that need natural
alignment to access registers. This change contains the following:
1. Function _rtl8821ae_dbi_read() is used to read one byte from DBI,
thus it should use rtl_read_byte().
2. Register 0x4C7 of 8192ee is single byte.

This patch fixes the OTP register definitions for the AR934x and AR9550
WMAC SoC.
Previously, the ath9k driver was unable to initialize the integrated
WMAC on an Aerohive AP121:

The code currently relies on refcounting to disable IRQs from within the
IRQ handler and re-enabling them again after the tasklet has run.
However, due to race conditions sometimes the IRQ handler might be
called twice, or the tasklet may not run at all (if interrupted in the
middle of a reset).
This can cause nasty imbalances in the irq-disable refcount which will
get the driver permanently stuck until the entire radio has been stopped
and started again (ath_reset will not recover from this).
Instead of using this fragile logic, change the code to ensure that
running the irq handler during tasklet processing is safe, and leave the
refcount untouched.

In the function rtl_usb_start we pre-allocate a certain number of urbs
for RX path but they will not be freed when calling rtl_usb_stop. This
results in leaking urbs when doing ifconfig up and down. Eventually,
the system has no available urbs.

These drivers need to be able to reference "struct ieee80211_hw" from
the driver's private data, and vice versa. The USB driver failed to
store the address of ieee80211_hw in the private data. Although this
bug has been present for a long time, it was not exposed until

The active_high LED of my Wistron DNMA-92 is still being recognized as
active_low on 4.7.6 mainline. When I was preparing my former commit
0f9edcdd88a9 ("ath9k: Fix LED polarity for some Mini PCI AR9220 MB92
cards.") to fix that I must have somehow messed up with testing, because
I tested the final version of that patch before sending it, and it was
apparently working; but now it is not working on 4.7.6 mainline.
I initially added the PCI_DEVICE_SUB section for 0x0029/0x2096 above the
PCI_VDEVICE section for 0x0029; but then I moved the former below the
latter after seeing how 0x002A sections were sorted in the file.
This turned out to be wrong: if a generic PCI_VDEVICE entry (that has
both subvendor and subdevice IDs set to PCI_ANY_ID) is put before a more
specific one (PCI_DEVICE_SUB), then the generic PCI_VDEVICE entry will
match first and will be used.
With this patch, 0x0029/0x2096 has finally got active_high LED on 4.7.6.
While I'm at it, let's fix 0x002A too by also moving its generic definition
below its specific ones.

In commit a5ffbe0a1993 ("rtlwifi: Fix scheduling while atomic bug") and
commit a269913c52ad ("rtlwifi: Rework rtl_lps_leave() and rtl_lps_enter()
to use work queue"), an error was introduced in the power-save routines
due to the fact that leaving PS was delayed by the use of a work queue.
This problem is fixed by detecting if the enter or leave routines are
in interrupt mode. If so, the workqueue is used to place the request.
If in normal mode, the enter or leave routines are called directly.

The SPLC data parsing is too restrictive and was not trying find the
correct element for WiFi. This causes problems with some BIOSes where
the SPLC method exists, but doesn't have a WiFi entry on the first
element of the list. The domain type values are also incorrect
according to the specification.
Fix this by complying with the actual specification.
Additionally, replace all occurrences of SPLX to SPLC, since SPLX is
only a structure internal to the ACPI tables, and may not even exist.

User-space can choose to omit NL80211_ATTR_SSID and only provide raw
IE TLV data. When doing so it can provide SSID IE with length exceeding
the allowed size. The driver further processes this IE copying it
into a local variable without checking the length. Hence stack can be
corrupted and used as exploit.

Some RTL8821AE devices sold in Great Britain have the country code of
0x25 encoded in their EEPROM. This value is not tested in the routine
that establishes the regulatory info for the chip. The fix is to set
this code to have the same capabilities as the EU countries. In addition,
the channels allowed for COUNTRY_CODE_ETSI were more properly suited
for China and Israel, not the EU. This problem has also been fixed.

wlc_phy_txpower_get_current() does a logical OR of power->flags, which
presumes that power.flags was initiliazed earlier by the caller,
unfortunately, this is not the case, so make sure we zero out the struct
tx_power before calling into wlc_phy_txpower_get_current().

The function ar9003_hw_apply_minccapwr_thresh takes as second parameter not
a pointer to the channel but a boolean value describing whether the channel
is 2.4GHz or not. This broke (according to the origin commit) the ETSI

This fixes a pretty ancient bug that hasn't manifested itself
until now.
The scratchbuf for command queue is allocated only for 32 slots
but is accessed with the queue write pointer - which can be
up to 256.
Since the scratch buf size was 16 and there are up to 256 TFDs
we never passed a page boundary when accessing the scratch buffer,
but when attempting to increase the size of the scratch buffer a
panic was quick to follow when trying to access the address resulted
in a page boundary.

Rewrite abs() so that its return type does not depend on the
architecture and no unexpected type conversion happen inside of it. The
only conversion is from unsigned to signed type. char is left as a
return type but treated as a signed type regradless of it's actual
signedness.
With the old version, int arguments were promoted to long and depending
on architecture a long argument might result in s64 or long return type
(which may or may not be the same).
This came after some back and forth with Nicolas. The current macro has
different return type (for the same input type) depending on
architecture which might be midly iritating.
An alternative version would promote to int like so:

A wmediumd that does not send this attribute causes a NULL pointer
dereference, as the attribute is accessed even if it does not exist.
The attribute was required but never checked ever since userspace frame
forwarding has been introduced. The issue gets more problematic once we
allow wmediumd registration from user namespaces.

In commit a269913c52ad ("rtlwifi: Rework rtl_lps_leave() and
rtl_lps_enter() to use work queue"), the tests for enter/exit
power-save mode were inverted. With this change applied, the
wifi connection becomes much more stable.

The previous patch added an option to rtl8723be to manually select the
antenna for those cases when only a single antenna is present, and the
on-board EEPROM is incorrectly programmed. This patch implements the
necessary changes in the Bluetooth coexistence driver.

A number of new laptops have been delivered with only a single antenna.
In principle, this is OK; however, a problem arises when the on-board
EEPROM is programmed to use the other antenna connection. The option
of opening the computer and moving the connector is not always possible
as it will void the warranty in some cases. In addition, this solution
breaks the Windows driver when the box dual boots Linux and Windows.
A fix involving a new module parameter has been developed. This commit
adds the new parameter and implements the changes needed for the driver.

Commit 09c9bae26b0d3c9472cb6ae45010460a2cee8b8d ("ath5k: add led pin
configuration for compaq c700 laptop") added a pin configuration for the Compaq
c700 laptop. However, the polarity of the led pin is reversed. It should be
red for wifi off and blue for wifi on, but it is the opposite. This bug was
reported in the following bug report:

It is observed that while loading and unloading ath10k modules
in an infinite loop, before ath10k_core_start() completion HTT
rx frames are received, while processing these frames,
dereferencing the arvifs list code is getting hit before
initilizing the arvifs list, causing a kernel panic.
This patch initilizes the arvifs list before initilizing htt.

Upon firmware assert, restart work will be triggered so that mac80211
will reconfigure the driver. An issue is reported that after restart
work, survey dump data do not contain in-use (SURVEY_INFO_IN_USE) info
for operating channel. During reconfigure, since mac80211 already has
valid channel context for given radio, channel context iteration return
num_chanctx > 0. Hence rx_channel is always NULL. Fix this by assigning
channel context to rx_channel when driver restart is in progress.
