commit 82715ac71e6b94a2c2136e31f3a8e6748e33aa8c upstream.
When the firmware starts, it doesn't have any regulatory
information, hence it uses the world wide limitations. The
driver can feed the firmware with previous knowledge that
was kept in the driver, but the firmware may still not
update its internal tables.
This happens when we start a BSS interface, and then the
firmware can change the regulatory tables based on our
location and it'll use more lenient, location specific
rules. Then, if the firmware is shut down (when the
interface is brought down), and then an AP interface is
created, the firmware will forget the country specific
rules.
The host will think that we are in a certain country that
may allow channels and will try to teach the firmware about
our location, but the firmware may still not allow to drop
the world wide limitations and apply country specific rules
because it was just re-started.
In this case, the firmware will reply with MCC_RESP_ILLEGAL
to the MCC_UPDATE_CMD. In that case, iwlwifi needs to let
the upper layers (cfg80211 / hostapd) know that the channel
list they know about has been updated.

commit 3d8bd85c2c9e47ed2c82348aa5b6029ed48376ae upstream.
Marvell p2p device disappears from the list of p2p peers on the other
p2p device after disconnection.
It happens due to a bug in driver. When interface is changed from p2p
to station, certain variables(bss_type, bss_role etc.) aren't correctly
updated. This patch corrects them to fix the issue.

commit c44c040300d7afd79294710313a4989683e2afb1 upstream.
At couple of places in cleanup path, we are just going through the
skb queue and freeing them without unlinking. This leads to a crash
when other thread tries to do skb_dequeue() and use already freed node.
The problem is freed by unlinking skb before freeing it.

commit 9afdd6128c39f42398041bb2e017d8df0dcebcd1 upstream.
The call to krealloc() in wsm_buf_reserve() directly assigns the newly
returned memory to buf->begin. This is all fine except when krealloc()
failes we loose the ability to free the old memory pointed to by
buf->begin. If we just create a temporary variable to assign memory to
and assign the memory to it we can mitigate the memory leak.

commit ebaa4b1620bf69f2bc43cb45ea85fbafdaec23c3 upstream.
arvifs list is traversed within data_lock spin_lock in tasklet
context to fill channel information from the corresponding vif.
This means any access to arvifs list for add/del operations
should also be protected with the same spin_lock to avoid the
race. Fix this by performing list add/del on arvfis within the
data_lock. This could fix kernel panic something like the below.

[ Upstream commit a9911937e7d332761e8c4fcbc7ba0426bdc3956f ]
When running in AP mode, ath10k sometimes suffers from TX credit
starvation. The issue is hard to reproduce and shows up once in a
few days, but has been repeatedly seen with QCA9882 and a large
range of firmwares, including 10.2.4.70.67.
Once the module is in this state, TX credits are never replenished,
which results in "SWBA overrun" errors, as no beacons can be sent.
Even worse, WMI commands run in a timeout while holding the conf
mutex for three seconds each, making any further operations slow
and the whole system unresponsive.
The firmware/driver never recovers from that state automatically,
and triggering TX flush or warm restarts won't work over WMI. So
issue a hardware restart if a WMI command times out due to missing
TX credits. This implies a connectivity outage of about 1.4s in AP
mode, but brings back the interface and the whole system to a usable
state. WMI command timeouts have not been seen in absent of this
specific issue, so taking such drastic actions seems legitimate.

[ Upstream commit 5ea59db8a375216e6c915c5586f556766673b5a7 ]
An earlier change to this function (3bdae810721b) fixed a leak in the
case of an unsuccessful call to brcmf_sdiod_buffrw(). However, the
glom_skb buffer, used for emulating a scattering read, is never used
or referenced after its contents are copied into the destination
buffers, and therefore always needs to be freed by the end of the
function.

The allocation of hwsim radio identifiers uses a post-increment from 0,
so the first radio has idx 0. This idx is explicitly excluded from
multicast announcements ever since, but it is unclear why.
Drop that idx check and announce the first radio as well. This makes
userspace happy if it relies on these events.

commit c8291988806407e02a01b4b15b4504eafbcc04e0 upstream.
Length of WMI scan message was not calculated correctly. The allocated
buffer was smaller than what we expected. So WMI message corrupted
skb_info, which is at the end of skb->data. This fix takes TLV header
into account even if the element is zero-length.

commit 9ef0f58ed7b4a55da4a64641d538e0d9e46579ac upstream.
The skb may be freed in tx completion context before
trace_ath10k_wmi_cmd is called. This can be easily captured when
KASAN(Kernel Address Sanitizer) is enabled. The fix is to move
trace_ath10k_wmi_cmd before the send operation. As the ret has no
meaning in trace_ath10k_wmi_cmd then, so remove this parameter too.

This is a static checker fix, not something I have tested. The issue
is that on the second iteration through the loop, we jump forward by
le32_to_cpu(auth_req->length) bytes. The problem is that if the length
is more than "buflen" then we end up with a negative "buflen". A
negative buflen is type promoted to a high positive value and the loop
continues but it's accessing beyond the end of the buffer.
I believe the "auth_req->length" comes from the firmware and if the
firmware is malicious or buggy, you're already toasted so the impact of
this bug is probably not very severe.

The tx completion of multiple mgmt frames can be bundled
in a single event and sent by the firmware to host, if this
capability is not disabled explicitly by the host. If the host
cannot handle the bundled mgmt tx completion, this capability
support needs to be disabled in the wmi init cmd, sent to the firmware.
Add the host capability indication flag in the wmi ready command,
to let firmware know the features supported by the host driver.
This field is ignored if it is not supported by firmware.
Set the host capability indication flag(i.e. host_capab) to zero,
for disabling the support of bundle mgmt tx completion. This will
indicate the firmware to send completion event for every mgmt tx
completion, instead of bundling them together and sending in a single
event.

[ Upstream commit 3f259111583801013cb605bb4414aa529adccf1c ]
The QCA4019 hw1.0 firmware 10.4-3.2.1-00050 and 10.4-3.5.3-00053 (and most
likely all other) seem to ignore the WMI_CHAN_FLAG_DFS flag during the
scan. This results in transmission (probe requests) on channels which are
not "available" for transmissions.
Since the firmware is closed source and nothing can be done from our side
to fix the problem in it, the driver has to work around this problem. The
WMI_CHAN_FLAG_PASSIVE seems to be interpreted by the firmware to not
scan actively on a channel unless an AP was detected on it. Simple probe
requests will then be transmitted by the STA on the channel.
ath10k must therefore also use this flag when it queues a radar channel for
scanning. This should reduce the chance of an active scan when the channel
might be "unusable" for transmissions.

[ Upstream commit 9c4a121e82634aa000a702c98cd6f05b27d6e186 ]
Add support for the BCM43364 chipset via an SDIO interface, as used in
e.g. the Murata 1FX module.
The BCM43364 uses the same firmware as the BCM43430 (which is already
included), the only difference is the omission of Bluetooth.
However, the SDIO_ID for the BCM43364 is 02D0:A9A4, giving it a MODALIAS
of sdio:c00v02D0dA9A4, which doesn't get recognised and hence doesn't
load the brcmfmac module. Adding the 'A9A4' ID in the appropriate place
triggers the brcmfmac driver to load, and then correctly use the
firmware file 'brcmfmac43430-sdio.bin'.

Race condition is observed during rmmod of mwifiex_usb:
1. The rmmod thread will call mwifiex_usb_disconnect(), download
SHUTDOWN command and do wait_event_interruptible_timeout(),
waiting for response.
2. The main thread will handle the response and will do a
wake_up_interruptible(), unblocking rmmod thread.
3. On getting unblocked, rmmod thread will make rx_cmd.urb = NULL in
mwifiex_usb_free().
4. The main thread will try to resubmit rx_cmd.urb in
mwifiex_usb_submit_rx_urb(), which is NULL.
To fix, wait for main thread to complete before calling

commit 9a98302de19991d51e067b88750585203b2a3ab6 upstream.
Without this patch, firmware will not run properly on rtl8821ae, and it
causes bad user experience. For example, bad connection performance with
low rate, higher power consumption, and so on.
rtl8821ae uses two kinds of firmwares for normal and WoWlan cases, and
each firmware has firmware data buffer and size individually. Original
code always overwrite size of normal firmware rtlpriv->rtlhal.fwsize, and
this mismatch causes firmware checksum error, then firmware can't start.
In this situation, driver gives message "Firmware is not ready to run!".

[ Upstream commit 8b2d93dd22615cb7f3046a5a2083a6f8bb8052ed ]
When attempt to run worker (ath10k_sta_rc_update_wk) after the station object
(ieee80211_sta) delete will trigger the kernel panic.
This problem arise in AP + Mesh configuration, Where the current node AP VAP
and neighbor node mesh VAP MAC address are same. When the current mesh node
try to establish the mesh link with neighbor node, driver peer creation for
the neighbor mesh node fails due to duplication MAC address. Already the AP
VAP created with same MAC address.
It is caused by the following scenario steps.
Steps:
1. In above condition, ath10k driver sta_state callback (ath10k_sta_state)
fails to do the state change for a station from IEEE80211_STA_NOTEXIST
to IEEE80211_STA_NONE due to peer creation fails. Sta_state callback is
called from ieee80211_add_station() to handle the new station
(neighbor mesh node) request from the wpa_supplicant.
2. Concurrently ath10k receive the sta_rc_update callback notification from
the mesh_neighbour_update() to handle the beacon frames of the above
neighbor mesh node. since its atomic callback, ath10k driver queue the
work (ath10k_sta_rc_update_wk) to handle rc update.
3. Due to driver sta_state callback fails (step 1), mac80211 free the station
object.
4. When the worker (ath10k_sta_rc_update_wk) scheduled to run, it will access
the station object which is already deleted. so it will trigger kernel
panic.
Added the peer exist check in sta_rc_update callback before queue the work.
Kernel Panic log:

'hwname' is malloced in hwsim_new_radio_nl() and should be freed
before leaving from the error handling cases, otherwise it will cause

commit 7eccb738fce57cbe53ed903ccf43f9ab257b15b3 upstream.
Rx data frames notified through HTT_T2H_MSG_TYPE_RX_IND and
HTT_T2H_MSG_TYPE_RX_FRAG_IND expect PN/TSC check to be done
on host (mac80211) rather than firmware. Rebuild cipher header
in every received data frames (that are notified through those
HTT interfaces) from the rx_hdr_status tlv available in the
rx descriptor of the first msdu. Skip setting RX_FLAG_IV_STRIPPED
flag for the packets which requires mac80211 PN/TSC check support
and set appropriate RX_FLAG for stripped crypto tail. Hw QCA988X,
QCA9887, QCA99X0, QCA9984, QCA9888 and QCA4019 currently need the
rebuilding of cipher header to perform PN/TSC check for replay
attack.
Please note that removing crypto tail for CCMP-256, GCMP and GCMP-256 ciphers
in raw mode needs to be fixed. Since Rx with these ciphers in raw
mode does not work in the current form even without this patch and
removing crypto tail for these chipers needs clean up, raw mode related
issues in CCMP-256, GCMP and GCMP-256 can be addressed in follow up
patches.

commit 2f38c3c01de945234d23dd163e3528ccb413066d upstream.
Chipset from QCA99X0 onwards (QCA99X0, QCA9984, QCA4019 & future)
rx_hdr_status is not padded to align in 4-byte boundary. Define a
new hw_params field to handle different alignment behaviour between
different hw. This patch fixes improper retrieval of rfc1042 header
with QCA4019. This patch along with "ath10k: Properly remove padding
from the start of rx payload" will fix traffic failure in ethernet
decap mode for QCA4019.

commit f980ebc058c2fa2a552e495db1de0b330082ab70 upstream.
When HW crypto is used, there's no need for the CCMP/GCMP MIC to
be available to mac80211, and the hardware might have removed it
already after checking. The MIC is also useless to have when the
frame is already decrypted, so allow indicating that it's not
present.
Since we are running out of bits in mac80211_rx_flags, make
the flags field a u64.

commit 55cc11da69895a680940c1733caabc37be685f5e upstream.
This reverts commit 55884c045d31a29cf69db8332d1064a1b61dd159.
When Ath10k is in AP mode and an unassociated STA sends a VHT action frame
(Operating Mode Notification for the NSS change) periodically to AP this causes
ath10k to call ath10k_station_assoc() which sends WMI_PEER_ASSOC_CMDID during
NSS update. Over the time (with a certain client it can happen within 15 mins
when there are over 500 of these VHT action frames) continuous calls of
WMI_PEER_ASSOC_CMDID cause firmware to assert due to resource exhaust.
To my knowledge setting WMI_PEER_NSS peer param itself enough to handle NSS
updates and no need to call ath10k_station_assoc(). So revert the original
commit from 2014 as it's unclear why the change was really needed.
Now the firmware assert doesn't happen anymore.
Issue observed in QCA9984 platform with firmware version:10.4-3.5.3-00053.
This Change tested in QCA9984 with firmware version: 10.4-3.5.3-00053 and
QCA988x platform with firmware version: 10.2.4-1.0-00036.

commit a34d0a0da1abae46a5f6ebd06fb0ec484ca099d9 upstream.
In an RFC patch, Sven Eckelmann and Simon Wunderlich reported:
"QCA 802.11n chips (especially AR9330/AR9340) sometimes end up in a
state in which a read of AR_CFG always returns 0xdeadbeef.
This should not happen when when the power_mode of the device is
ATH9K_PM_AWAKE."
Include the check for the default register state in the existing MAC
hang check.

[ Upstream commit ac1181c60822292176ab96912208ec9f9819faf8 ]
Currently the less than zero error check on ret is incorrect
as it is checking a far earlier ret assignment rather than the
return from the call to wl1251_acx_arp_ip_filter. Fix this by
adding in the missing assginment.

[ Upstream commit e48d661eb13f2f83861428f001c567fdb3f317e8 ]
Using memcpy() from a buffer that is shorter than the length copied means
the destination buffer is being filled with arbitrary data from the kernel
rodata segment. In this case, the source was made longer, since it did not
match the destination structure size. Additionally removes a needless cast.
This was found with the future CONFIG_FORTIFY_SOURCE feature.

[ Upstream commit 8fed6823e06e43ee9cf7c0ffecec2f9111ce6201 ]
The AR5K_EEPROM_READ macro returns with -EIO if a read error
occurs causing a memory leak on the allocated buffer buf. Fix
this by explicitly calling ath5k_hw_nvram_read and exiting on
the via the freebuf label that performs the necessary free'ing
of buf when a read error occurs.
