2009-04-07lowmemorykiller: Don't count free space unless it meets the specified limit ↵Arve Hjønnevåg
by itself This allows processes to be killed when the kernel evict cache pages in an attempt to get more contiguous free memory. Signed-off-by: Arve Hjønnevåg <arve@android.com>
2009-04-07lowmemorykiller: Only iterate over process list when needed.Arve Hjønnevåg
Use NR_ACTIVE plus NR_INACTIVE as a size estimate for our fake cache instead the sum of rss. Neither method is accurate. Also skip the process scan, if the amount of memory available is above the largest threshold set. Signed-off-by: Arve Hjønnevåg <arve@android.com>
2009-04-07binder: Defer flush and release operations to avoid deadlocks.Arve Hjønnevåg
If a transaction that contains a file descriptor fails on a later object, the new file descriptor needs to be closed. If this is a binder file descriptor we would deadlock in flush. If there were no other references to the file at this point release would also be called. Signed-off-by: Arve Hjønnevåg <arve@android.com>
2009-04-07binder: Prevent the wrong thread from adding a transaction to the stack.Arve Hjønnevåg
If a thread is part of a transaction stack, it is only allowed to make another call if it was the target of the top transaction on the stack. Signed-off-by: Arve Hjønnevåg <arve@android.com>
2009-04-07binder: Cast to uintptr_t instead of size_t when aligning pointersArve Hjønnevåg
Signed-off-by: Arve Hjønnevåg <arve@android.com>
2009-04-07binder: Keep a reference to the files_struct while the driver is mmappedArve Hjønnevåg
This prevents breaking fget_light if a single threaded application allows incoming file descriptors (in replies or on nodes). Should also prevent inserting a file in the wrong files_struct if the receving process execs in the middle of a transaction (between task_get_unused_fd_flags and task_fd_install). Signed-off-by: Arve Hjønnevåg <arve@android.com>
2009-04-07binder: Add more offset validation.Arve Hjønnevåg
Check that datasize is not smaller than one flat_binder_object. Check that offsets are aligned. Check that offsets_size is aligned. Signed-off-by: Arve Hjønnevåg <arve@android.com>
2009-04-07binder: mmap fixes.Arve Hjønnevåg
Only allow a binder file pointer to be mmapped once. The buffer management code cannot deal with more then one area. Also remove leftover mutex_unlock if mmap fails. Signed-off-by: Arve Hjønnevåg <arve@android.com>
2009-04-07binder: Don't create two proc entries with the same name if the driver is ↵Arve Hjønnevåg
opened twice in one process. Signed-off-by: Arve Hjønnevåg <arve@android.com>
2009-04-07binder: Remove VM_EXEC check.Arve Hjønnevåg
Many platforms do not support mappings without VM_EXEC. Signed-off-by: Arve Hjønnevåg <arve@android.com>

2009-02-27Staging: w35und: fix usb_control_msg() error handling in wb35_probe()Pekka Enberg

Also, fix up ieee80211_alloc_hw() error code to ENOMEM; otherwise GCC complains that err might be undefined (and is right about that). 2009-02-27Staging: rtl8187se: Fix oops and memory poison caused by builtin ieee80211.leandro Costantino
when modprobe and removing rtl8187se ( just for testing, i do not have that card , and oops and a memory poison error happens on the builtin ieee80211 of that driver. I dont know if they will port it to the current ieeee80221 instead of the builtin ones, but just in case i attach a proposed fix for that problem. - Change for loop on ieee80211_crypto_deinit for list_for_each_safe to remove items. 2009-02-27Staging: rtl8187se: fix Kconfig dependenciesRandy Dunlap
rtl8187se uses wireless extensions so it needs to depend on WIRELESS_EXT (or select it). rtl8187se uses fields in struct net_device that are only present if CONFIG_COMPAT_NET_DEV_OPS=y, so it needs to depend on that symbol also. drivers/staging/rtl8187se/r8180_core.c:5973: error: 'struct net_device' has no member named 'wireless_handlers' drivers/staging/rtl8187se/r8180_core.c:5982: error: 'struct net_device' has no member named 'wireless_handlers' drivers/staging/rtl8187se/r8180_core.c:201: error: 'struct net_device' has no member named 'stop' drivers/staging/rtl8187se/r8180_core.c:4584: error: 'struct net_device' has no member named 'get_stats' drivers/staging/rtl8187se/r8180_core.c:5969: error: 'struct net_device' has no member named 'open' drivers/staging/rtl8187se/r8180_core.c:5970: error: 'struct net_device' has no member named 'stop' drivers/staging/rtl8187se/r8180_core.c:5972: error: 'struct net_device' has no member named 'tx_timeout' drivers/staging/rtl8187se/r8180_core.c:5974: error: 'struct net_device' has no member named 'do_ioctl' drivers/staging/rtl8187se/r8180_core.c:5975: error: 'struct net_device' has no member named 'set_multicast_list' drivers/staging/rtl8187se/r8180_core.c:5976: error: 'struct net_device' has no member named 'set_mac_address' Signed-off-by: Randy Dunlap <randy.dunlap@oracle.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>

2009-02-09Revert Staging: at76_usb: update drivers/staging/at76_usb w/ mac80211 portGreg Kroah-Hartman
Reverts 02227c28391b5059a7710d6039c52912b0ee2c1d (Had to be done by hand due to other patches that had come after this.) Turns out that we don't want the mac80211 port of this driver just yet, as there is a different driver working on adding this support. So keep things old and different for now.
