The USB charger functionality depends on functions provided by
CONFIG_POWER_SUPPLY but this dependency is not forced through Kconfig.
Don't compile the functionality in when CONFIG_POWER_SUPPLY is not set.
This fixes linker errors of not found symbols.

Currently qw_sign requires UTF-8 character to set, but returns UTF-16
when read. This isn't obvious when simply using cat since the null
characters are not visible, but hexdump unveils the true string:
# echo MSFT100 > os_desc/qw_sign
# hexdump -C os_desc/qw_sign
00000000 4d 00 53 00 46 00 54 00 31 00 30 00 30 00 |M.S.F.T.1.0.0.|
Make qw_sign symmetric by returning an UTF-8 string too. Also follow
common convention and add a new line at the end.

The existing usage of extcon in chipidea driver freezes the kernel
presumably due to OTGSC register access.
Prevent accessing any OTG registers for SoC with dual role devices
but no true OTG support. Use the flag CI_HDRC_DUAL_ROLE_NOT_OTG for
those devices and in case extcon is present, do the role switch
using extcon only.

commit 7661ca09b2ff98f48693f431bb01fed62830e433 upstream.
gcc-8 points out two comparisons that are clearly bogus
and almost certainly not what the author intended to write:
drivers/usb/gadget/udc/dummy_hcd.c: In function 'set_link_state_by_speed':
drivers/usb/gadget/udc/dummy_hcd.c:379:31: error: bitwise comparison always evaluates to false [-Werror=tautological-compare]
USB_PORT_STAT_ENABLE) == 1 &&
^~
drivers/usb/gadget/udc/dummy_hcd.c:381:25: error: bitwise comparison always evaluates to false [-Werror=tautological-compare]
USB_SS_PORT_LS_U0) == 1 &&
^~
I looked at the code for a bit and came up with a change that makes
it look like what the author probably meant here. This makes it
look reasonable to me and to gcc, shutting up the warning.
It does of course change behavior as the two conditions are actually
evaluated rather than being hardcoded to false, and I have made no
attempt at verifying that the changed logic makes sense in the context
of a USB HCD, so that part needs to be reviewed carefully.

commit 958c0bd86075d4ef1c936998deefe1947e539240 upstream.
Realtek USB3.0 Card Reader [0bda:0328] reports wrong port status on
Cannon lake PCH USB3.1 xHCI [8086:a36d] after resume from S3,
after clear port reset it works fine.
Since this device is registered on USB3 roothub at boot,
when port status reports not superspeed, xhci_get_port_status will call
an uninitialized completion in bus_state[0].
Kernel will hang because of NULL pointer.
Restrict the USB2 resume status check in USB2 roothub to fix hang issue.

commit 2f31a67f01a8beb22cae754c53522cb61a005750 upstream.
USB3 roothub might autosuspend before a plugged USB3 device is detected,
causing USB3 device enumeration failure.
USB3 devices don't show up as connected and enabled until USB3 link trainig
completes. On a fast booting platform with a slow USB3 link training the
link might reach the connected enabled state just as the bus is suspending.
If this device is discovered first time by the xhci_bus_suspend() routine
it will be put to U3 suspended state like the other ports which failed to
suspend earlier.
The hub thread will notice the connect change and resume the bus,
moving the port back to U0
This U0 -> U3 -> U0 transition right after being connected seems to be
too much for some devices, causing them to first go to SS.Inactive state,
and finally end up stuck in a polling state with reset asserted
Fix this by failing the bus suspend if a port has a connect change or is
in a polling state in xhci_bus_suspend().
Don't do any port changes until all ports are checked, buffer all port
changes and only write them in the end if suspend can proceed

commit 22454b79e6de05fa61a2a72d00d2eed798abbb75 upstream.
This will clear the USB_PORT_FEAT_C_CONNECTION bit in case of a hub port reset
only if a device is was attached to the hub port before resetting the hub port.
Using a Lenovo T480s attached to the ultra dock it was not possible to detect
some usb-c devices at the dock usb-c ports because the hub_port_reset code
will clear the USB_PORT_FEAT_C_CONNECTION bit after the actual hub port reset.
Using this device combo the USB_PORT_FEAT_C_CONNECTION bit was set between the
actual hub port reset and the clear of the USB_PORT_FEAT_C_CONNECTION bit.
This ends up with clearing the USB_PORT_FEAT_C_CONNECTION bit after the
new device was attached such that it was not detected.
This patch will not clear the USB_PORT_FEAT_C_CONNECTION bit if there is
currently no device attached to the port before the hub port reset.
This will avoid clearing the connection bit for new attached devices.

Raydium claims the touchscreen supports LPM under Windows, so I used
Microsoft USB Test Tools (MUTT) [1] to check its LPM status. MUTT shows
that the LPM doesn't work under Windows, either. So let's just disable LPM
for Raydium touchscreens.

commit 665c365a77fbfeabe52694aedf3446d5f2f1ce42 upstream.
Commit 7a68d9fb8510 ("USB: usbdevfs: sanitize flags more") checks the
transfer flags for URBs submitted from userspace via usbfs. However,
the check for whether the USBDEVFS_URB_SHORT_NOT_OK flag should be
allowed for a control transfer was added in the wrong place, before
the code has properly determined the direction of the control
transfer. (Control transfers are special because for them, the
direction is set by the bRequestType byte of the Setup packet rather
than direction bit of the endpoint address.)
This patch moves code which sets up the allow_short flag for control
transfers down after is_in has been set to the correct value.

commit f976d0e5747ca65ccd0fb2a4118b193d70aa1836 upstream.
The usb standard ("Universal Serial Bus Class Definitions for Communication
Devices") distiguishes between "consistent signals" (DSR, DCD), and
"irregular signals" (break, ring, parity error, framing error, overrun).
The bits of "irregular signals" are set, if this error/event occurred on
the device side and are immeadeatly unset, if the serial state notification
was sent.
Like other drivers of real serial ports do, just the occurence of those
events should be counted in serial_icounter_struct (but no 1->0
transitions).

[ Upstream commit 2278446e2b7cd33ad894b32e7eb63afc7db6c86e ]
Hub driver will try to disable a USB3 device twice at logical disconnect,
racing with xhci_free_dev() callback from the first port disable.
This can be triggered with "udisksctl power-off --block-device <disk>"
or by writing "1" to the "remove" sysfs file for a USB3 device
in 4.17-rc4.
USB3 devices don't have a similar disabled link state as USB2 devices,
and use a U3 suspended link state instead. In this state the port
is still enabled and connected.
hub_port_connect() first disconnects the device, then later it notices
that device is still enabled (due to U3 states) it will try to disable
the port again (set to U3).
The xhci_free_dev() called during device disable is async, so checking
for existing xhci->devs[i] when setting link state to U3 the second time
was successful, even if device was being freed.
The regression was caused by, and whole thing revealed by,
Commit 44a182b9d177 ("xhci: Fix use-after-free in xhci_free_virt_device")
which sets xhci->devs[i]->udev to NULL before xhci_virt_dev() returned.
and causes a NULL pointer dereference the second time we try to set U3.
Fix this by checking xhci->devs[i]->udev exists before setting link state.
The original patch went to stable so this fix needs to be applied there as
well.

IRQ_NOAUTOEN cannot be used with shared IRQs, since commit 04c848d39879
("genirq: Warn when IRQ_NOAUTOEN is used with shared interrupts") and
kernel now throws a warn dump. But OMAP DWC3 driver uses this flag. As
per commit 12a7f17fac5b ("usb: dwc3: omap: fix race of pm runtime with
irq handler in probe") that introduced this flag, PM runtime can race
with IRQ handler when deferred probing happens due to extcon,
therefore IRQ_NOAUTOEN needs to be set so that irq is not enabled until
extcon is registered.
Remove setting of IRQ_NOAUTOEN and move the registration of
shared irq to a point after dwc3_omap_extcon_register() and
of_platform_populate(). This avoids possibility of probe deferring and
above said race condition.

When the gadget serial device has no associated TTY, do not pass any

snprintf() always returns the full length of the string it could have
printed, even if it was truncated because the buffer was too small.
So in case the counter value is truncated, we will over-read from
in_buffer and over-write to the caller's buffer.
I don't think it's actually possible for this to happen, but in case
truncation occurs, WARN and return -EIO.

commit c183813fcee44a249339b7c46e1ad271ca1870aa upstream.
usb_driver_claim_interface() disables and re-enables Link Power
Management, but it shouldn't do either one, for the reasons listed
below. This patch removes the two LPM-related function calls from the
routine.
The reason for disabling LPM in the analogous function
usb_probe_interface() is so that drivers won't have to deal with
unwanted LPM transitions in their probe routine. But
usb_driver_claim_interface() doesn't call the driver's probe routine
(or any other callbacks), so that reason doesn't apply here.
Furthermore, no driver other than usbfs will ever call
usb_driver_claim_interface() unless it is already bound to another
interface in the same device, which means disabling LPM here would be
redundant. usbfs doesn't interact with LPM at all.
Lastly, the error return from usb_unlocked_disable_lpm() isn't handled
properly; the code doesn't clean up its earlier actions before
returning.

commit c9a4cb204e9eb7fa7dfbe3f7d3a674fa530aa193 upstream.
usb_find_alt_setting() takes a pointer to a struct usb_host_config as
an argument; it searches for an interface with specified interface and
alternate setting numbers in that config. However, it crashes if the
usb_host_config pointer argument is NULL.
Since this is a general-purpose routine, available for use in many
places, we want to to be more robust. This patch makes it return NULL
whenever the config argument is NULL.

commit bd729f9d67aa9a303d8925bb8c4f06af25f407d1 upstream.
The syzbot fuzzing project found a use-after-free bug in the USB
core. The bug was caused by usbfs not unbinding from an interface
when the USB device file was closed, which led another process to
attempt the unbind later on, after the private data structure had been
deallocated.
The reason usbfs did not unbind the interface at the appropriate time
was because it thought the interface had never been claimed in the
first place. This was caused by the fact that
usb_driver_claim_interface() does not clean up properly when
device_bind_driver() returns an error. Although the error code gets
passed back to the caller, the iface->dev.driver pointer remains set
and iface->condition remains equal to USB_INTERFACE_BOUND.
This patch adds proper error handling to usb_driver_claim_interface().

commit df3aa13c7bbb307e172c37f193f9a7aa058d4739 upstream.
This reverts commit a81cf9799ad7299b03a4dff020d9685f9ac5f3e0.
The patch causes a regression, which I cannot find the reason for.
So let's revert for now, as a revert hurts only performance.
Original report:
I was trying to resolve the problem with Oliver but we don't get any conclusion
for 5 months, so I am now sending this to mail list and cdc_acm authors.
I am using simple request-response protocol to obtain the boiller parameters
in constant intervals.
A simple one transaction is:
1. opening the /dev/ttyACM0
2. sending the following 10-bytes request to the device:
unsigned char req[] = {0x02, 0xfe, 0x01, 0x05, 0x08, 0x02, 0x01, 0x69, 0xab, 0x03};
3. reading response (frame of 74 bytes length).
4. closing the descriptor
I am doing this transaction with 5 seconds intervals.
Before the bad commit everything was working correctly: I've got a requests and
a responses in a timely manner.
After the bad commit more time I am using the kernel module, more problems I have.
The graph [2] is showing the problem.
As you can see after module load all seems fine but after about 30 minutes I've got
a plenty of EAGAINs when doing read()'s and trying to read back the data.
When I rmmod and insmod the cdc_acm module again, then the situation is starting
over again: running ok shortly after load, and more time it is running, more EAGAINs
I have when calling read().
As a bonus I can see the problem on the device itself:
The device is configured as you can see here on this screen [3].
It has two transmision LEDs: TX and RX. Blink duration is set for 100ms.
This is a recording before the bad commit when all is working fine: [4]
And this is with the bad commit: [5]
As you can see the TX led is blinking wrongly long (indicating transmission?)
and I have problems doing read() calls (EAGAIN).

service_outstanding_interrupt()
commit 6e22e3af7bb3a7b9dc53cb4687659f6e63fca427 upstream.
wdm_in_callback() is a completion handler function for the USB driver.

which calls usb_submit_urb() with GFP_KERNEL.
To fix this bug, GFP_KERNEL is replaced with GFP_ATOMIC.

commit 7e10f14ebface44a48275c8d6dc1caae3668d5a9 upstream.
If the written data starts with a digit, yurex_write() tries to parse
it as an integer using simple_strtoull(). This requires a null-
terminator, and currently there's no guarantee that there is one.
(The sample program at
https://github.com/NeoCat/YUREX-driver-for-Linux/blob/master/sample/yurex_clock.pl
writes an integer without a null terminator. It seems like it must
have worked by chance!)
Always add a null byte after the written data. Enlarge the buffer
to allow for this.
