The driver overrides the error codes returned by platform_get_irq() to
-ENODEV, so if it returns -EPROBE_DEFER, the driver will fail the probe
permanently instead of the deferred probing. Switch to propagating the
error codes upstream.

strlcpy() reads the entire source buffer first. This read may exceed the
destination size limit. This is both inefficient and can lead to linear
read overflows if a source string is not NUL-terminated. The safe
replacement is strscpy().
This is a previous step in the path to remove the strlcpy() function
entirely from the kernel [1].

Commit 1b00767fd8e1 ("MIPS: Remove PMC MSP71xx platform") removes the
config PMC_MSP in ./arch/mips/Kconfig.
Hence, since then, the corresponding PMC MSP TWI/SMBus/I2C driver is
dead code. Remove this dead driver.

The sysfs_emit() function was introduced to make it less ambiguous
which function is preferred when writing to the output buffer in
a "show" callback [1].
Convert the I²C device sysfs interface from sprintf() to sysfs_emit()
accordingly, as the latter is aware of the PAGE_SIZE buffer and correctly
returns the number of bytes written into the buffer.
No functional change intended.

p2sb_spinlock is used in i801_add_tco_spt() only, and in process context
only. Therefore a mutex is sufficient, and we can make the definition
local to i801_add_tco_spt().

Setting the autosuspend delay to a negative value disables runtime pm in
a little bit smarter way, because we need no cleanup when removing the
driver. Note that this is safe when reloading the driver, because the
call to pm_runtime_set_autosuspend_delay() in probe() will reverse the
effect. See update_autosuspend() for details.

The driver is written as if platform_get_irq() returns 0 on errors (while
actually it returns a negative error code), blithely passing these error
codes to request_irq() (which takes *unsigned* IRQ #) -- which fails with
-EINVAL. Add the necessary error check to the pre-existing *if* statement
forcing the driver into the polling mode...

Bit SMBHSTCNT_PEC_EN is used only if software calculates the CRC and
uses register SMBPEC. This is not supported by the driver, it supports
hw-calculation of CRC only (using bit SMBAUXSTS_CRCE). The chip spec
states the following, therefore never set bit SMBHSTCNT_PEC_EN.
Chapter SMBus CRC Generation and Checking
If the AAC bit is set in the Auxiliary Control register, the PCH
automatically calculates and drives CRC at the end of the transmitted
packet for write cycles, and will check the CRC for read cycles. It will
not transmit the contents of the PEC register for CRC. The PEC bit must
not be set in the Host Control register. If this bit is set, unspecified
behavior will result.
This patch is based solely on the specification and compile-tested only,
because I have no PEC-capable devices.

Any interraction with the buffer pool (seeding a buffer, acquire one) is
made through a software portal (SWP, a DPIO object).
There are circumstances where the dpaa2-switch driver probes on a DPSW
before any DPIO devices have been probed. In this case, seeding of the
buffer pool will lead to a panic since no SWPs are initialized.
To fix this, seed the buffer pool after making sure that the software
portals have been probed and are ready to be used.

This simple series of commands:
ip link add br0 type bridge vlan_filtering 1
ip link set swp0 master br0
fails on sja1105 with the following error:
[ 33.439103] sja1105 spi0.1: vlan-lookup-table needs to have at least the default untagged VLAN
[ 33.447710] sja1105 spi0.1: Invalid config, cannot upload
Warning: sja1105: Failed to change VLAN Ethertype.
For context, sja1105 has 3 operating modes:
- SJA1105_VLAN_UNAWARE: the dsa_8021q_vlans are committed to hardware
- SJA1105_VLAN_FILTERING_FULL: the bridge_vlans are committed to hardware
- SJA1105_VLAN_FILTERING_BEST_EFFORT: both the dsa_8021q_vlans and the
bridge_vlans are committed to hardware
Swapping out a VLAN list and another in happens in
sja1105_build_vlan_table(), which performs a delta update procedure.
That function is called from a few places, notably from
sja1105_vlan_filtering() which is called from the
SWITCHDEV_ATTR_ID_BRIDGE_VLAN_FILTERING handler.
The above set of 2 commands fails when run on a kernel pre-commit
8841f6e63f2c ("net: dsa: sja1105: make devlink property
best_effort_vlan_filtering true by default"). So the priv->vlan_state
transition that takes place is between VLAN-unaware and full VLAN
filtering. So the dsa_8021q_vlans are swapped out and the bridge_vlans
are swapped in.
So why does it fail?
Well, the bridge driver, through nbp_vlan_init(), first sets up the
SWITCHDEV_ATTR_ID_BRIDGE_VLAN_FILTERING attribute, and only then
proceeds to call nbp_vlan_add for the default_pvid.
So when we swap out the dsa_8021q_vlans and swap in the bridge_vlans in
the SWITCHDEV_ATTR_ID_BRIDGE_VLAN_FILTERING handler, there are no bridge
VLANs (yet). So we have wiped the VLAN table clean, and the low-level
static config checker complains of an invalid configuration. We _will_
add the bridge VLANs using the dynamic config interface, albeit later,
when nbp_vlan_add() calls us. So it is natural that it fails.
So why did it ever work?
Surprisingly, it looks like I only tested this configuration with 2
things set up in a particular way:
- a network manager that brings all ports up
- a kernel with CONFIG_VLAN_8021Q=y
It is widely known that commit ad1afb003939 ("vlan_dev: VLAN 0 should be
treated as "no vlan tag" (802.1p packet)") installs VID 0 to every net
device that comes up. DSA treats these VLANs as bridge VLANs, and
therefore, in my testing, the list of bridge_vlans was never empty.
However, if CONFIG_VLAN_8021Q is not enabled, or the port is not up when
it joins a VLAN-aware bridge, the bridge_vlans list will be temporarily
empty, and the sja1105_static_config_reload() call from
sja1105_vlan_filtering() will fail.
To fix this, the simplest thing is to keep VID 4095, the one used for
CPU-injected control packets since commit ed040abca4c1 ("net: dsa:
sja1105: use 4095 as the private VLAN for untagged traffic"), in the
list of bridge VLANs too, not just the list of tag_8021q VLANs. This
ensures that the list of bridge VLANs will never be empty.

[Why]
Regression found in some embedded panels traces back to the earliest
upstreamed ASSR patch. The changed code flow are causing problems
with some panels.

- Change ASSR enabling code while preserving original code flow
as much as possible
- Simplify the code on guarding with internal display flag
