2008-02-08CRIS v32: Rename variable used in macro for arch-v32/hwregs/dma.hJesper Nilsson
The old name "r" would quite often produce warnings when other variables with the same name was shadowed. Rename it __x to make it more unlikely to happen.

2008-02-07Add cmpxchg_local to crisMathieu Desnoyers
Use the new generic cmpxchg_local (disables interrupt). Also use the generic cmpxchg as fallback if SMP is not set. 2008-02-07Sanitize the type of struct user.u_ar0H. Peter Anvin
struct user.u_ar0 is defined to contain a pointer offset on all architectures in which it is defined (all architectures which define an a.out format except SPARC.) However, it has a pointer type in the headers, which is pointless -- <asm/user.h> is not exported to userspace, and it just makes the code messy. Redefine the field as "unsigned long" (which is the same size as a pointer on all Linux architectures) and change the setting code to user offsetof() instead of hand-coded arithmetic. 2008-02-07Cleanup asm/{elf,page,user}.h: #ifdef __KERNEL__ is no longer neededKirill A. Shutemov
asm/elf.h, asm/page.h and asm/user.h don't export to userspace now, so we can drop #ifdef __KERNEL__ for them. [k.shutemov@gmail.com: remove #ifdef __KERNEL_] Signed-off-by: Kirill A. 2008-02-05cris: remove unused __dummy, CONST_ADDR and ADDR from bitops.hJesper Nilsson

2008-02-05add mm argument to pte/pmd/pud/pgd_freeBenjamin Herrenschmidt
(with Martin Schwidefsky <schwidefsky@de.ibm.com>) The pgd/pud/pmd/pte page table allocation functions get a mm_struct pointer as first argument. The free functions do not get the mm_struct argument. This is 1) asymmetrical and 2) to do mm related page table allocations the mm argument is needed on the free function as well. 2008-01-31[NET]: Introducing socket mark socket option.Laszlo Attila Toth
A userspace program may wish to set the mark for each packets its send without using the netfilter MARK target. Changing the mark can be used for mark based routing without netfilter or for packet filtering. It requires CAP_NET_ADMIN capability. 2008-01-25ide: remove stale ide.h "configuration options"Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz
Remove stale ide.h "configuration options": * INITIAL_MULT_COUNT - always defined to 0 * SUPPORT_SLOW_DATA_PORTS - unused * OK_TO_RESET_CONTROLLER - always defined to 1 * DISABLE_IRQ_NOSYNC - always defined to 0 Leave SUPPORT_VLB_SYNC (defined to 0 for CRIS and FRV, otherwise to 1) for now but disallow overriding it by <asm/ide.h>. There should be no functionality changes caused by this patch. Acked-by: Sergei Shtylyov <sshtylyov@ru.mvista.com> Signed-off-by: Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz <bzolnier@gmail.com>
2008-01-17CRIS v10: vmlinux.lds.S: ix kernel oops on boot and use common definesJesper Nilsson
- Move alignment to page size of init data outside ifdef for BLK_DEV_INITRD. The reservation up to page size of memory after init data was previously not done if BLK_DEV_INITRD was undefined. This caused a kernel oops when init memory pages were freed after startup, data placed in the same page as the last init memory would also be freed and reused, with disastrous results. - Use macros for initcalls and .text sections. - Replace hardcoded page size constant with PAGE_SIZE define. - Change include/asm-cris/page.h to use the _AC macro to instead of testing __ASSEMBLY__. 2007-11-14CRISv10 improve and bugfix fasttimerJesper Nilsson
Improve and bugfix CRIS v10 fast timers. - irq_handler_t now only takes two arguments. - Keep interrupts disabled as long as we have a reference to the fasttimer list and only enable them while doing the callback. del_fast_timer may be called from other interrupt context. - Fix bug where debug code could return without calling local_irq_restore. - Use jiffies instead of usec (change from struct timeval to fasttime_t). - Don't initialize static variables to zero. - Remove obsolete #ifndef DECLARE_WAITQUEUE code. - fast_timer_init should be __initcall. - Change status/debug variables to unsigned. - Remove CVS log and CVS id.
