2010-09-09gpio: sx150x: correct and refine reset-on-probe behaviorGregory Bean
Replace the arbitrary software-reset call from the device-probe method, because: - It is defective. To work correctly, it should be two byte writes, not a single word write. As it stands, it does nothing. - Some devices with sx150x expanders installed have their NRESET pins ganged on the same line, so resetting one causes the others to reset - not a nice thing to do arbitrarily! - The probe, usually taking place at boot, implies a recent hard-reset, so a software reset at this point is just a waste of energy anyway. Therefore, make it optional, defaulting to off, as this will match the common case of probing at powerup and also matches the current broken no-op behavior. 2010-08-14hwmon: (ltc4245) Expose all GPIO pins as analog voltagesIra W. Snyder
Add support for exposing all GPIO pins as analog voltages. Though this is not an ideal use of the chip, some hardware engineers may decide that the LTC4245 meets their design requirements when studying the datasheet. The GPIO pins are sampled in round-robin fashion, meaning that a slow reader will see stale data. A userspace application can detect this, because it will get -EAGAIN when reading from a sysfs file which contains stale data. Users can choose to use this feature on a per-chip basis by using either platform data or the OF device tree (where applicable). Signed-off-by: Ira W. A column or row configured as a GPI can be programmed to be part of the key event table and therefore also capable of generating a key event interrupt. A key event interrupt caused by a GPI follows the same process flow as a key event interrupt caused by a key press. GPIs configured as part of the key event table allow single key switches and other GPI interrupts to be monitored. As part of the event table, GPIs are represented by the decimal value 97 (0x61 or 1100001) through the decimal value 114 (0x72 or 1110010). 2010-03-07mfd: Introduce remove_script function for twl4030Mike Turquette
New function twl4030_remove_script(u8 flags) takes a script type as defined in twl.h and prevents any script already loaded in that position from running. This is accomplished by programming SEQ_ADD_* to 0x3f, the END_OF_SCRIPT value, where SEQ_ADD_* is determined by flags. (Future) users of this function include OMAP board files for machines facing a race condition between sleep and warm reset. This patch disables TWL4030/5030 I2C1 adn I2C4(SR) internal pull-up, to use only the external HW resistor >=470 Ohm for the assured functionality in HS mode. While testing the I2C in High Speed mode, it was discovered that without a proper pull-up resistor, there is data corruption during multi-byte transfer. RTC(time_set) test case was used for testing. From the analysis done, it was concluded that ideally we need a pull-up of 1.6k Ohm(recomended) or atleast 470 Ohm or greater for assured performance in HS mode. In order to have TWL6030 CODEC driver as a platform driver, codec data should be passed through twl_platform_data structure. For twl6030 audio codec, the following data may be passed: - audpwron_gpio: gpio line used to power-up/down the codec. A low-to-high transition powers codec up. Setting audpwron_gpio to a negative value means that codec will use manual power sequence instead of automatic sequence - naudint_irq: irq line for audio interrupt. twl6030 drives NAUDINT line to low when an interrupt (codec ready, plug insertion/removal, etc) is detected However, codec driver can operate if any or none of them are passed. 2009-12-13mfd: Allow configuration of VDCDC2 for tps65010Ben Dooks
Add function to allow the configuation fo the VDCDC2 register by external users, to allow changing of the standard and low-power running modes. This is needed, for example, for the Simtec IM2440D20 where we need to use the low-power mode to shutdown the LDO/DCDC that are not needed during suspend (saving substantial power) and the runtime use of the low-power mode to change VCore.
