2008-07-03ARM: OMAP2: Clock: Add OMAP3 DPLL autoidle functionsPaul Walmsley
This patch adds support for DPLL autoidle control to the OMAP3 clock framework. These functions will be used by the noncore DPLL enable and disable code - this is because, according to the CDP code, the DPLL autoidle status must be saved and restored across DPLL lock/bypass/off transitions. N.B.: the CORE DPLL (DPLL3) has three autoidle mode options, rather than just two. This code currently does not support the third option, low-power bypass autoidle. 2008-07-03ARM: OMAP: Add OMAP chip type structure; clean up mach-omap2/id.cPaul Walmsley
Add a new OMAP chip identification interface, omap_chip_id. omap_chip_id is a structure which contains one bit for each OMAP2/3 CPU type, and on 3430, ES level. For example, the CHIP_IS_OMAP2420 bit is set in omap_chip at boot on an OMAP2420. On OMAP3430ES2, both CHIP_IS_OMAP3430 and CHIP_IS_OMAP3430ES2 bits are set. omap_chip is set in mach-omap2/id.c by _set_omap_chip(). Other code should use the omap_chip_is() function to test against omap_chip. Also, clean up id.c by splitting some code out of omap_check_revision() into its own function, _set_system_rev(); and converting some debug printk()s into pr_debug(). Second revision. i2c.h mentions -1 as a not-issued irq. This false hint was taken by of_i2c and caused crashes. fsync_buffers_list() and sync_dirty_buffer() both issue async writes and then immediately wait on them. Conceptually, that makes them sync writes and we should treat them as such so that the IO schedulers can handle them appropriately. This patch fixes a write starvation issue that Lin Ming reported, where xx is stuck for more than 2 minutes because of a large number of synchronous IO in the system: INFO: task kjournald:20558 blocked for more than 120 seconds. When an SKB cannot be chained to a session, the current code attempts to "restore" its ip_summed field from lro_mgr->ip_summed. However, lro_mgr->ip_summed does not hold the original value; in fact, we'd better not touch skb->ip_summed since it is not modified by the code in the path leading to a failure to chain it. VIDIOC_ENUMSTD did not return all the PAL/SECAM/NTSC variants: it just returned one single PAL/SECAM/NTSC standard without separate entries for the trickier standards like NTSC-JP. A bug in libsensors <= 2.10.6 is exposed when this new hwmon I/F is enabled. 2008-06-24x86: Add structs and functions for paravirt clocksourceGerd Hoffmann
This patch adds structs for the paravirt clocksource ABI used by both xen and kvm (pvclock-abi.h). It also adds some helper functions to read system time and wall clock time from a paravirtual clocksource (pvclock.[ch]). They are based on the xen code. They are enabled using CONFIG_PARAVIRT_CLOCK. Subsequent patches of this series will put the code in use. Non-PAE operation has been deprecated in Xen for a while, and is rarely tested or used. xen-unstable has now officially dropped non-PAE support. Since Xen/pvops' non-PAE support has also been broken for a while, we may as well completely drop it altogether. 2008-06-24KVM: close timer injection race window in __vcpu_runMarcelo Tosatti
If a timer fires after kvm_inject_pending_timer_irqs() but before local_irq_disable() the code will enter guest mode and only inject such timer interrupt the next time an unrelated event causes an exit. It would be simpler if the timer->pending irq conversion could be done with IRQ's disabled, so that the above problem cannot happen. For now introduce a new vcpu requests bit to cancel guest entry.
