io_uring/io_uring.h doesn't use anything declared in
io_uring/filetable.h, so drop the unnecessary #include. Add filetable.h
includes in .c files previously relying on the transitive include from
io_uring.h.

Futex recently had an issue where it mishandled how ->async_data and
REQ_F_ASYNC_DATA is handled. To avoid future issues like that, add a set
of helpers that either clear or clear-and-free the async data assigned
to a struct io_kiocb.
Convert existing manual handling of that to use the helpers. No intended
functional changes in this patch.

Currently the buffer list is stored in struct io_kiocb. The buffer list
can be of two types:
1) Classic/legacy buffer list. These don't need to get referenced after
a buffer pick, and hence storing them in struct io_kiocb is perfectly
fine.
2) Ring provided buffer lists. These DO need to be referenced after the
initial buffer pick, as they need to get consumed later on. This can
be either just incrementing the head of the ring, or it can be
consuming parts of a buffer if incremental buffer consumptions has
been configured.
For case 2, io_uring needs to be careful not to access the buffer list
after the initial pick-and-execute context. The core does recycling of
these, but it's easy to make a mistake, because it's stored in the
io_kiocb which does persist across multiple execution contexts. Either
because it's a multishot request, or simply because it needed some kind
of async trigger (eg poll) for retry purposes.
Add a struct io_buffer_list to struct io_br_sel, which is always on
stack for the various users of it. This prevents the buffer list from
leaking outside of that execution context, and additionally it enables
kbuf to not even pass back the struct io_buffer_list if the given
context isn't appropriately locked already.
This doesn't fix any bugs, it's simply a defensive measure to prevent
any issues with reuse of a buffer list.

but since we already have a value field in io_br_sel, just use that.
This is also in preparation for needing to pass in struct io_br_sel
to io_send_finish() anyway.

A previous commit used io_net_kbuf_recyle() for any network helper that
did IO and needed partial retry. However, that's only needed if the
opcode does buffer selection, which isnt support for sendzc, sendmsg_zc,
or sendmsg. Just remove them - they don't do any harm, but it is a bit
confusing when reading the code.

Picking multiple buffers always requires the ring lock to be held across
the operation, so there's no need to pass in the issue_flags to
io_put_kbufs(). On the single buffer side, if the initial picking of a
ring buffer was unlocked, then it will have been committed already. For
legacy buffers, no locking is required, as they will simply be freed.

Ring provided buffers are potentially only valid within the single
execution context in which they were acquired. io_uring deals with this
and invalidates them on retry. But on the networking side, if
MSG_WAITALL is set, or if the socket is of the streaming type and too
little was processed, then it will hang on to the buffer rather than
recycle or commit it. This is problematic for two reasons:
1) If someone unregisters the provided buffer ring before a later retry,
then the req->buf_list will no longer be valid.
2) If multiple sockers are using the same buffer group, then multiple
receives can consume the same memory. This can cause data corruption
in the application, as either receive could land in the same
userspace buffer.
Fix this by disallowing partial retries from pinning a provided buffer
across multiple executions, if ring provided buffers are used.

At the moment you have to use sendmsg for vectorized send.
While this works it's suboptimal as it also means you need to
allocate a struct msghdr that needs to be kept alive until a
submission happens. We can remove this limitation by just
allowing to use send directly.

Pull io_uring updates from Jens Axboe:
- Optimization to avoid reference counts on non-cloned registered
buffers. This is how these buffers were handled prior to having
cloning support, and we can still use that approach as long as the
buffers haven't been cloned to another ring.
- Cleanup and improvement for uring_cmd, where btrfs was the only user
of storing allocated data for the lifetime of the uring_cmd. Clean
that up so we can get rid of the need to do that.
- Avoid unnecessary memory copies in uring_cmd usage. This is
particularly important as a lot of uring_cmd usage necessitates the
use of 128b SQEs.
- A few updates for recv multishot, where it's now possible to add
fairness limits for limiting how much is transferred for each retry
loop. Additionally, recv multishot now supports an overall cap as
well, where once reached the multishot recv will terminate. The
latter is useful for buffer management and juggling many recv streams
at the same time.
- Add support for returning the TX timestamps via a new socket command.
This feature can work in either singleshot or multishot mode, where
the latter triggers a completion whenever new timestamps are
available. This is an alternative to using the existing error queue.
- Add support for an io_uring "mock" file, which is the start of being
able to do 100% targeted testing in terms of exercising io_uring
request handling. The idea is to have a file type that can be
anything the tester would like, and behave exactly how you want it to
behave in terms of hitting the code paths you want.
- Improve zcrx by using sgtables to de-duplicate and improve dma
address handling.
- Prep work for supporting larger pages for zcrx.
- Various little improvements and fixes.

8c8492ca64e7 ("io_uring/net: don't retry connect operation on EPOLLERR")
is a little dirty hack that
1) wrongfully assumes that POLLERR equals to a failed request, which
breaks all POLLERR users, e.g. all error queue recv interfaces.
2) deviates the connection request behaviour from connect(2), and
3) racy and solved at a wrong level.
Nothing can be done with 2) now, and 3) is beyond the scope of the
patch. At least solve 1) by moving the hack out of generic poll handling
into io_connect().

At the moment its very hard to do fine grained backpressure when using
multishot as the kernel might produce a lot of completions before the
user has a chance to cancel a previous submitted multishot recv.
This change adds support to issue a multishot recv that is capped by a
len, which means the kernel will only rearm until X amount of data is
received. When the limit is reached the completion will signal to the
user that a re-arm needs to happen manually by not setting the IORING_CQE_F_MORE
flag.

If an application is handling multiple receive streams using recv
multishot, then the amount of retries and buffer peeking for multishot
and bundles can process too much per socket before moving on. This isn't
directly controllable by the application. By default, io_uring will
retry a recv MULTISHOT_MAX_RETRY (32) times, if the socket keeps having
data to receive. And if using bundles, then each bundle peek will
potentially map up to PEEK_MAX_IMPORT (256) iovecs of data. Once these
limits are hit, then a requeue operation will be done, where the request
will get retried after other pending requests have had a time to get
executed.
Add support for capping the per-invocation receive length, before a
requeue condition is considered for each receive. This is done by setting
sqe->mshot_len to the byte value. For example, if this is set to 1024,
then each receive will be requeued by 1024 bytes received.

There's plenty of space left, as sr->flags is a 16-bit type. The UAPI
bits are the lower 8 bits, as that's all that sqe->ioprio can carry in
the SQE anyway. Use a few of the upper 8 bits for internal uses, rather
than have two separate flags entries.

sr->len again. No functional changes as of this patch, but it does
prepare io_recv_buf_select() for getting passed in a value that differs
from sr->len.

A previous commit aborted mapping more for a non-incremental ring for
bundle peeking, but depending on where in the process this peeking
happened, it would not necessarily prevent a retry by the user. That can
create gaps in the received/read data.
Add struct buf_sel_arg->partial_map, which can pass this information
back. The networking side can then map that to internal state and use it
to gate retry as well.
Since this necessitates a new flag, change io_sr_msg->retry to a
retry_flags member, and store both the retry and partial map condition
in there.

A bigger array of vecs could've been allocated, but
io_ring_buffers_peek() still decided to cap the mapped range depending
on how much data was available. Hence don't rely on the segment count
to know if the request should be marked as needing cleanup, always
check upfront if the iov array is different than the fast_iov array.

A previous fix corrected the retry condition for when to continue a
current bundle, but it missed that the current (not the total) transfer
count also applies to the buffer put. If not, then for incrementally
consumed buffer rings repeated completions on the same request may end
up over consuming.

Currently retry and general validity of msg_inq is gated on it being
larger than zero, but it's entirely possible for this to be slightly
inaccurate. In particular, if FIN is received, it'll return 1.
Just use larger than 1 as the check. This covers both the FIN case, and
at the same time, it doesn't make much sense to retry a recv immediately
if there's even just a single 1 byte of valid data in the socket.
Leave the SOCK_NONEMPTY flagging when larger than 0 still, as an app may
use that for the final receive.

The design of io-wq is such that it can be a generic mechanism, but
as it's just used by io_uring now, may as well avoid these indirect
calls

If a shorter than assumed transfer was seen, a partial buffer will have
been filled. For that case it isn't sane to attempt to fill more into
the bundle before posting a completion, as that will cause a gap in
the received data.
Check if the iterator has hit zero and only allow to continue a bundle
operation if that is the case.
Also ensure that for putting finished buffers, only the current transfer
is accounted. Otherwise too many buffers may be put for a short transfer.

IOU_COMPLETE is more descriptive, in that it explicitly says that the
return value means "please post a completion for this request". This
patch completes the transition from IOU_OK to IOU_COMPLETE, replacing
existing IOU_OK users.
This is a purely mechanical change.

sqe->file_index and sqe->zcrx_ifq_idx are aliased, so even though
io_recvzc_prep() has all necessary handling and checking for
->zcrx_ifq_idx, it's already rejected a couple of lines above.
It's not a real problem, however, as we can only have one ifq at the
moment, which index is always zero, and it returns correct error
codes to the user.

Pass buffer group id into the rest of helpers via struct buf_sel_arg
and remove all reassignments of req->buf_index back to bgid. Now, it
only stores buffer indexes, and the group is provided by callers.

The current situation with buffer group id juggling is not ideal.
req->buf_index first stores the bgid, then it's overwritten by a buffer
id, and then it can get restored back no recycling / etc. It's not so
easy to control, and it's not handled consistently across request types
with receive requests saving and restoring the bgid it by hand.
It's a prep patch that adds a buffer group id argument to
io_buffer_select(). The caller will be responsible for stashing a copy
somewhere and passing it into the function.

With registered buffers we set up iterators in helpers like
io_import_fixed(), and there is no need for a import_ubuf() before that.
It was fine as we used real pointers for offset calculation, but that's
not the case anymore since introduction of ublk kernel buffers.

io_send_setup() already sets up the iterator for IORING_OP_SEND_ZC, we
don't need repeating that at issue time. Move it all together with mem
accounting at prep time, which is more consistent with how the non-zc
version does that.

io_sendmsg_zc_setup() duplicates parts of io_sendmsg_setup(), and the
only difference between them is that the former support vectored
registered buffers with nothing zerocopy specific. Merge them together,
we want regular sendmsg to eventually support fixed buffers either way.

Pull io_uring zero-copy receive support from Jens Axboe:
"This adds support for zero-copy receive with io_uring, enabling fast
bulk receive of data directly into application memory, rather than
needing to copy the data out of kernel memory.
While this version only supports host memory as that was the initial
target, other memory types are planned as well, with notably GPU
memory coming next.
This work depends on some networking components which were queued up
on the networking side, but have now landed in your tree.
This is the work of Pavel Begunkov and David Wei. From the v14 posting:
'We configure a page pool that a driver uses to fill a hw rx queue
to hand out user pages instead of kernel pages. Any data that ends
up hitting this hw rx queue will thus be dma'd into userspace
memory directly, without needing to be bounced through kernel
memory. 'Reading' data out of a socket instead becomes a
_notification_ mechanism, where the kernel tells userspace where
the data is. The overall approach is similar to the devmem TCP
proposal
This relies on hw header/data split, flow steering and RSS to
ensure packet headers remain in kernel memory and only desired
flows hit a hw rx queue configured for zero copy. Configuring this
is outside of the scope of this patchset.
We share netdev core infra with devmem TCP. The main difference is
that io_uring is used for the uAPI and the lifetime of all objects
are bound to an io_uring instance. Data is 'read' using a new
io_uring request type. When done, data is returned via a new shared
refill queue. A zero copy page pool refills a hw rx queue from this
refill queue directly. Of course, the lifetime of these data
buffers are managed by io_uring rather than the networking stack,
with different refcounting rules.
This patchset is the first step adding basic zero copy support. We
will extend this iteratively with new features e.g. dynamically
allocated zero copy areas, THP support, dmabuf support, improved
copy fallback, general optimisations and more'
In a local setup, I was able to saturate a 200G link with a single CPU
core, and at netdev conf 0x19 earlier this month, Jamal reported
188Gbit of bandwidth using a single core (no HT, including soft-irq).
Safe to say the efficiency is there, as bigger links would be needed
to find the per-core limit, and it's considerably more efficient and
faster than the existing devmem solution"

As the comment states, io_req_post_cqe() should only be used by
multishot requests, i.e. REQ_F_APOLL_MULTISHOT, which bundled sends are
not. Add a flag signifying whether a request wants to post multiple
CQEs. Eventually REQ_F_APOLL_MULTISHOT should imply the new flag, but
that's left out for simplicity.

Pull io_uring updates from Jens Axboe:
"This is the first of the io_uring pull requests for the 6.15 merge
window, there will be others once the net tree has gone in. This
contains:
- Cleanup and unification of cancelation handling across various
request types.
- Improvement for bundles, supporting them both for incrementally
consumed buffers, and for non-multishot requests.
- Enable toggling of using iowait while waiting on io_uring events or
not. Unfortunately this is still tied with CPU frequency boosting
on short waits, as the scheduler side has not been very receptive
to splitting the (useless) iowait stat from the cpufreq implied
boost.
- Add support for kbuf nodes, enabling zero-copy support for the ublk
block driver.
- Various cleanups for resource node handling.
- Series greatly cleaning up the legacy provided (non-ring based)
buffers. For years, we've been pushing the ring provided buffers as
the way to go, and that is what people have been using. Reduce the
complexity and code associated with legacy provided buffers.
- Series cleaning up the compat handling.
- Series improving and cleaning up the recvmsg/sendmsg iovec and msg
handling.
- Series of cleanups for io-wq.
- Start adding a bunch of selftests. The liburing repository
generally carries feature and regression tests for everything, but
at least for ublk initially, we'll try and go the route of having
it in selftests as well. We'll see how this goes, might decide to
migrate more tests this way in the future.

Instead of a bool field in struct io_sr_msg, use REQ_F_IMPORT_BUFFER to
track whether io_send_zc() has already imported the buffer. This flag
already serves a similar purpose for sendmsg_zc and {read,write}v_fixed.
