2009-09-08can: Fix raw_getname() leakEric Dumazet
commit e84b90ae5eb3c112d1f208964df1d8156a538289 upstream. raw_getname() can leak 10 bytes of kernel memory to user (two bytes hole between can_family and can_ifindex, 8 bytes at the end of sockaddr_can structure) Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <eric.dumazet@gmail.com> Acked-by: Oliver Hartkopp <oliver@hartkopp.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>
2008-07-19netns: Use net_eq() to compare net-namespaces for optimization.YOSHIFUJI Hideaki
Without CONFIG_NET_NS, namespace is always &init_net. Compiler will be able to omit namespace comparisons with this patch. Signed-off-by: YOSHIFUJI Hideaki <yoshfuji@linux-ipv6.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2008-07-05can: add sanity checksOliver Hartkopp
Even though the CAN netlayer only deals with CAN netdevices, the netlayer interface to the userspace and to the device layer should perform some sanity checks. This patch adds several sanity checks that mainly prevent userspace apps to send broken content into the system that may be misinterpreted by some other userspace application. 2008-04-27can: Fix copy_from_user() results interpretationSam Ravnborg
Both copy_to_ and _from_user return the number of bytes, that failed to reach their destination, not the 0/-EXXX values. Based on patch from Pavel Emelyanov <xemul@openvz.org> Signed-off-by: Sam Ravnborg <sam@ravnborg.org> Acked-by: Oliver Hartkopp <oliver.hartkopp@volkswagen.de> Signed-off-by: David S. 2008-04-25net: Fix wrong interpretation of some copy_to_user() results.Pavel Emelyanov
I found some places, that erroneously return the value obtained from the copy_to_user() call: if some amount of bytes were not able to get to the user (this is what this one returns) the proper behavior is to return the -EFAULT error, not that number itself. 2008-03-26[NET] NETNS: Omit net_device->nd_net without CONFIG_NET_NS.YOSHIFUJI Hideaki
Introduce per-net_device inlines: dev_net(), dev_net_set(). Without CONFIG_NET_NS, no namespace other than &init_net exists. Let's explicitly define them to help compiler optimizations. Signed-off-by: YOSHIFUJI Hideaki <yoshfuji@linux-ipv6.org>
2008-02-07[CAN]: Minor clean-upsUrs Thuermann
Remove unneeded variable. Rename local variable error to err like in all other places. Some white-space changes. Signed-off-by: Urs Thuermann <urs.thuermann@volkswagen.de> Signed-off-by: Oliver Hartkopp <oliver.hartkopp@volkswagen.de> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2008-01-28[CAN]: Add raw protocolOliver Hartkopp
This patch adds the CAN raw protocol. Signed-off-by: Oliver Hartkopp <oliver.hartkopp@volkswagen.de> Signed-off-by: Urs Thuermann <urs.thuermann@volkswagen.de> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
