2018-02-25net: replace dst_cache ip6_tunnel implementation with the generic onePaolo Abeni
commit 607f725f6f7d5ec3759fbc16224afb60e2152a5b upstream. This also fix a potential race into the existing tunnel code, which could lead to the wrong dst to be permanenty cached: CPU1: CPU2: <xmit on ip6_tunnel> <cache lookup fails> dst = ip6_route_output(...) <tunnel params are changed via nl> dst_cache_reset() // no effect, // the cache is empty dst_cache_set() // the wrong dst // is permanenty stored // into the cache With the new dst implementation the above race is not possible since the first cache lookup after dst_cache_reset will fail due to the timestamp check Signed-off-by: Paolo Abeni <pabeni@redhat.com> Suggested-and-acked-by: Hannes Frederic Sowa <hannes@stressinduktion.org> Signed-off-by: David S. [ Upstream commit f8d20b46ce55cf40afb30dcef6d9288f7ef46d9b ] The similar fix in patch 'ipip: only increase err_count for some certain type icmp in ipip_err' is needed for ip6gre_err. 2017-10-21ip6_gre: skb_push ipv6hdr before packing the header in ip6gre_headerXin Long
[ Upstream commit 76cc0d3282d4b933fa144fa41fbc5318e0fdca24 ] Now in ip6gre_header before packing the ipv6 header, it skb_push t->hlen which only includes encap_hlen + tun_hlen. It means greh and inner header would be over written by ipv6 stuff and ipv6h might have no chance to set up. Jianlin found this issue when using remote any on ip6_gre, the packets he captured on gre dev are truncated: 22:50:26.210866 Out ethertype IPv6 (0x86dd), length 120: truncated-ip6 -\ 8128 bytes missing!(flowlabel 0x92f40, hlim 0, next-header Options (0) \ payload length: 8192) ::1:2000:0 > ::1:0:86dd: HBH [trunc] ip-proto-128 \ 8184 It should also skb_push ipv6hdr so that ipv6h points to the right position to set ipv6 stuff up. This patch is to skb_push hlen + sizeof(*ipv6h) and also fix some indents in ip6gre_header. 2017-02-18ip6_gre: fix ip6gre_err() invalid readsEric Dumazet
[ Upstream commit 7892032cfe67f4bde6fc2ee967e45a8fbaf33756 ] Andrey Konovalov reported out of bound accesses in ip6gre_err() If GRE flags contains GRE_KEY, the following expression *(((__be32 *)p) + (grehlen / 4) - 1) accesses data ~40 bytes after the expected point, since grehlen includes the size of IPv6 headers. Let's use a "struct gre_base_hdr *greh" pointer to make this code more readable. p[1] becomes greh->protocol. grhlen is the GRE header length. 2016-11-15ip6_gre: fix flowi6_proto value in ip6gre_xmit_other()Lance Richardson
[ Upstream commit db32e4e49ce2b0e5fcc17803d011a401c0a637f6 ] Similar to commit 3be07244b733 ("ip6_gre: fix flowi6_proto value in xmit path"), set flowi6_proto to IPPROTO_GRE for output route lookup. Up until now, ip6gre_xmit_other() has set flowi6_proto to a bogus value. This affected output route lookup for packets sent on an ip6gretap device in cases where routing was dependent on the value of flowi6_proto. Since the correct proto is already set in the tunnel flowi6 template via commit 252f3f5a1189 ("ip6_gre: Set flowi6_proto as IPPROTO_GRE in xmit path."), simply delete the line setting the incorrect flowi6_proto value. 2016-04-20tunnel: Clear IPCB(skb)->opt before dst_link_failure calledBernie Harris
[ Upstream commit 5146d1f151122e868e594c7b45115d64825aee5f ] IPCB may contain data from previous layers (in the observed case the qdisc layer). In the observed scenario, the data was misinterpreted as ip header options, which later caused the ihl to be set to an invalid value (<5). This resulted in an infinite loop in the mips implementation of ip_fast_csum. This patch clears IPCB(skb)->opt before dst_link_failure can be called for various types of tunnels. This change only applies to encapsulated ipv4 packets. The code introduced in 11c21a30 which clears all of IPCB has been removed to be consistent with these changes, and instead the opt field is cleared unconditionally in ip_tunnel_xmit. The change in ip_tunnel_xmit applies to SIT, GRE, and IPIP tunnels. The relevant vti, l2tp, and pptp functions already contain similar code for clearing the IPCB. 2015-09-24ip6_gre: Reduce log level in ip6gre_err() to debugMatt Bennett
Currently error log messages in ip6gre_err are printed at 'warn' level. This is different to most other tunnel types which don't print any messages. These log messages don't provide any information that couldn't be deduced with networking tools. Also it can be annoying to have one end of the tunnel go down and have the logs fill with pointless messages such as "Path to destination invalid or inactive!". This patch reduces the log level of these messages to 'dbg' level to bring the visible behaviour into line with other tunnel types. 2015-09-15ipv6: Fix dst_entry refcnt bugs in ip6_tunnelMartin KaFai Lau
Problems in the current dst_entry cache in the ip6_tunnel: 1. ip6_tnl_dst_set is racy. There is no lock to protect it: - One major problem is that the dst refcnt gets messed up. F.e. the same dst_cache can be released multiple times and then triggering the infamous dst refcnt < 0 warning message. - Another issue is the inconsistency between dst_cache and dst_cookie. It can be reproduced by adding and removing the ip6gre tunnel while running a super_netperf TCP_CRR test. 2. ip6_tnl_dst_get does not take the dst refcnt before returning the dst. This patch: 1. Create a percpu dst_entry cache in ip6_tnl 2. Use a spinlock to protect the dst_cache operations 3. ip6_tnl_dst_get always takes the dst refcnt before returning Signed-off-by: Martin KaFai Lau <kafai@fb.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Conflicts: drivers/net/vxlan.c drivers/vhost/net.c include/linux/if_vlan.h net/core/dev.c The net/core/dev.c conflict was the overlap of one commit marking an existing function static whilst another was adding a new function. In the include/linux/if_vlan.h case, the type used for a local variable was changed in 'net', whereas the function got rewritten to fix a stacked vlan bug in 'net-next'. In drivers/vhost/net.c, Al Viro's iov_iter conversions in 'net-next' overlapped with an endainness fix for VHOST 1.0 in 'net'. 2014-11-06ipv6: Allow sending packets through tunnels with wildcard endpointsSteffen Klassert
Currently we need the IP6_TNL_F_CAP_XMIT capabiltiy to transmit packets through an ipv6 tunnel. This capability is set when the tunnel gets configured, based on the tunnel endpoint addresses. On tunnels with wildcard tunnel endpoints, we need to do the capabiltiy checking on a per packet basis like it is done in the receive path. 2014-10-07net: better IFF_XMIT_DST_RELEASE supportEric Dumazet
Testing xmit_more support with netperf and connected UDP sockets, I found strange dst refcount false sharing. Current handling of IFF_XMIT_DST_RELEASE is not optimal. Dropping dst in validate_xmit_skb() is certainly too late in case packet was queued by cpu X but dequeued by cpu Y The logical point to take care of drop/force is in __dev_queue_xmit() before even taking qdisc lock. As Julian Anastasov pointed out, need for skb_dst() might come from some packet schedulers or classifiers. This patch adds new helper to cleanly express needs of various drivers or qdiscs/classifiers. Drivers that need skb_dst() in their ndo_start_xmit() should call following helper in their setup instead of the prior : dev->priv_flags &= ~IFF_XMIT_DST_RELEASE; -> netif_keep_dst(dev); Instead of using a single bit, we use two bits, one being eventually rebuilt in bonding/team drivers. The other one, is permanent and blocks IFF_XMIT_DST_RELEASE being rebuilt in bonding/team. Eventually, we could add something smarter later. 2014-07-07ipv6: Implement automatic flow label generation on transmitTom Herbert
Automatically generate flow labels for IPv6 packets on transmit. The flow label is computed based on skb_get_hash. The flow label will only automatically be set when it is zero otherwise (i.e. flow label manager hasn't set one). This supports the transmit side functionality of RFC 6438. Added an IPv6 sysctl auto_flowlabels to enable/disable this behavior system wide, and added IPV6_AUTOFLOWLABEL socket option to enable this functionality per socket. By default, auto flowlabels are disabled to avoid possible conflicts with flow label manager, however if this feature proves useful we may want to enable it by default. It should also be noted that FreeBSD has already implemented automatic flow labels (including the sysctl and socket option). In FreeBSD, automatic flow labels default to enabled. Performance impact: Running super_netperf with 200 flows for TCP_RR and UDP_RR for IPv6. Note that in UDP case, __skb_get_hash will be called for every packet with explains slight regression. In the TCP case the hash is saved in the socket so there is no regression. 2014-04-23ip6gre: add x-netns supportNicolas Dichtel
This patch allows to switch the netns when packet is encapsulated or decapsulated. In other word, the encapsulated packet is received in a netns, where the lookup is done to find the tunnel. Once the tunnel is found, the packet is decapsulated and injecting into the corresponding interface which stands to another netns. When one of the two netns is removed, the tunnel is destroyed. 2014-04-15ip6_gre: don't allow to remove the fb_tunnel_devNicolas Dichtel
It's possible to remove the FB tunnel with the command 'ip link del ip6gre0' but this is unsafe, the module always supposes that this device exists. For example, ip6gre_tunnel_lookup() may use it unconditionally. Let's add a rtnl handler for dellink, which will never remove the FB tunnel (we let ip6gre_destroy_tunnels() do the job). Introduced by commit c12b395a4664 ("gre: Support GRE over IPv6"). CC: Dmitry Kozlov <xeb@mail.ru> Signed-off-by: Nicolas Dichtel <nicolas.dichtel@6wind.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2014-02-14net: introduce netdev_alloc_pcpu_stats() for driversWANG Cong
There are many drivers calling alloc_percpu() to allocate pcpu stats and then initializing ->syncp. So just introduce a helper function for them. Cc: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net> Signed-off-by: Cong Wang <xiyou.wangcong@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2014-01-15ipv6: move IPV6_TCLASS_SHIFT into ipv6.h and define a helperLi RongQing
Two places defined IPV6_TCLASS_SHIFT, so we should move it into ipv6.h, and use this macro as possible. And define ip6_tclass helper to return tclass Signed-off-by: Li RongQing <roy.qing.li@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2014-01-04net: unify the pcpu_tstats and br_cpu_netstats as oneLi RongQing
They are same, so unify them as one, pcpu_sw_netstats. Define pcpu_sw_netstat in netdevice.h, remove pcpu_tstats from if_tunnel and remove br_cpu_netstats from br_private.h Cc: Cong Wang <xiyou.wangcong@gmail.com> Cc: Stephen Hemminger <stephen@networkplumber.org> Signed-off-by: Li RongQing <roy.qing.li@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2013-11-06net: Explicitly initialize u64_stats_sync structures for lockdepJohn Stultz
In order to enable lockdep on seqcount/seqlock structures, we must explicitly initialize any locks. The u64_stats_sync structure, uses a seqcount, and thus we need to introduce a u64_stats_init() function and use it to initialize the structure. This unfortunately adds a lot of fairly trivial initialization code to a number of drivers. But the benefit of ensuring correctness makes this worth while. Because these changes are required for lockdep to be enabled, and the changes are quite trivial, I've not yet split this patch out into 30-some separate patches, as I figured it would be better to get the various maintainers thoughts on how to best merge this change along with the seqcount lockdep enablement. Feedback would be appreciated!
