2007-04-25[SK_BUFF]: Introduce ipv6_hdr(), remove skb->nh.ipv6hArnaldo Carvalho de Melo
Now the skb->nh union has just one member, .raw, i.e. it is just like the skb->mac union, strange, no? I'm just leaving it like that till the transport layer is done with, when we'll rename skb->mac.raw to skb->mac_header (or ->mac_header_offset?), ditto for ->{h,nh}. 2007-03-22[NET]: fix up misplaced inlines.Dave Jones
Turning up the warnings on gcc makes it emit warnings about the placement of 'inline' in function declarations. Here's everything that was under net/ Signed-off-by: Dave Jones <davej@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2007-02-13[IPSEC]: changing API of xfrm6_tunnel_registerKazunori MIYAZAWA
This patch changes xfrm6_tunnel register and deregister interface to prepare for solving the conflict of device tunnels with inter address family IPsec tunnel. There is no device which conflicts with IPv4 over IPv6 IPsec tunnel. Signed-off-by: Kazunori MIYAZAWA <miyazawa@linux-ipv6.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2006-12-07[PATCH] slab: remove kmem_cache_tChristoph Lameter
Replace all uses of kmem_cache_t with struct kmem_cache. The patch was generated using the following script: #!/bin/sh # # Replace one string by another in all the kernel sources. # set -e for file in `find * -name "*.c" -o -name "*.h"|xargs grep -l $1`; do quilt add $file sed -e "1,\$s/$1/$2/g" $file >/tmp/$$ mv /tmp/$$ $file quilt refresh done The script was run like this sh replace kmem_cache_t "struct kmem_cache" Signed-off-by: Christoph Lameter <clameter@sgi.com> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>

2006-09-22[XFRM]: Add XFRM_MODE_xxx for future use.Masahide NAKAMURA
Transformation mode is used as either IPsec transport or tunnel. It is required to add two more items, route optimization and inbound trigger for Mobile IPv6. Based on MIPL2 kernel patch. This patch was also written by: Ville Nuorvala <vnuorval@tcs.hut.fi> Signed-off-by: Masahide NAKAMURA <nakam@linux-ipv6.org> Signed-off-by: YOSHIFUJI Hideaki <yoshfuji@linux-ipv6.org> Signed-off-by: David S. 2006-07-24[IPV6] xfrm6_tunnel: Delete debugging code.David S. Miller
It doesn't compile, and it's dubious in several regards: 1) is enabled by non-Kconfig controlled CONFIG_* value (noted by Randy Dunlap) 2) XFRM6_TUNNEL_SPI_MAGIC is defined after it's first use 3) the debugging messages print object pointer addresses which have no meaning without context So let's just get rid of it. 2006-04-01[IPSEC]: Kill unused decap state argumentHerbert Xu
This patch removes the decap_state argument from the xfrm input hook. Previously this function allowed the input hook to share state with the post_input hook. The latter has since been removed. The only purpose for it now is to check the encap type. However, it is easier and better to move the encap type check to the generic xfrm_rcv function. This allows us to get rid of the decap state argument altogether. Signed-off-by: Herbert Xu <herbert@gondor.apana.org.au> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2006-03-28[INET]: Introduce tunnel4/tunnel6Herbert Xu
Basically this patch moves the generic tunnel protocol stuff out of xfrm4_tunnel/xfrm6_tunnel and moves it into the new files of tunnel4.c and tunnel6 respectively. The reason for this is that the problem that Hugo uncovered is only the tip of the iceberg. The real problem is that when we removed the dependency of ipip on xfrm4_tunnel we didn't really consider the module case at all. For instance, as it is it's possible to build both ipip and xfrm4_tunnel as modules and if the latter is loaded then ipip simply won't load. After considering the alternatives I've decided that the best way out of this is to restore the dependency of ipip on the non-xfrm-specific part of xfrm4_tunnel. This is acceptable IMHO because the intention of the removal was really to be able to use ipip without the xfrm subsystem. This is still preserved by this patch. So now both ipip/xfrm4_tunnel depend on the new tunnel4.c which handles the arbitration between the two. The order of processing is determined by a simple integer which ensures that ipip gets processed before xfrm4_tunnel. The situation for ICMP handling is a little bit more complicated since we may not have enough information to determine who it's for. It's not a big deal at the moment since the xfrm ICMP handlers are basically no-ops. In future we can deal with this when we look at ICMP caching in general. The user-visible change to this is the removal of the TUNNEL Kconfig prompts. This makes sense because it can only be used through IPCOMP as it stands. The addition of the new modules shouldn't introduce any problems since module dependency will cause them to be loaded. Oh and I also turned some unnecessary pskb's in IPv6 related to this patch to skb's. Signed-off-by: Herbert Xu <herbert@gondor.apana.org.au> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

2006-01-13[NET]: Use NIP6_FMT in kernel.hJoe Perches
There are errors and inconsistency in the display of NIP6 strings. ie: net/ipv6/ip6_flowlabel.c There are errors and inconsistency in the display of NIPQUAD strings too. ie: net/netfilter/nf_conntrack_ftp.c This patch: adds NIP6_FMT to kernel.h changes all code to use NIP6_FMT fixes net/ipv6/ip6_flowlabel.c adds NIPQUAD_FMT to kernel.h fixes net/netfilter/nf_conntrack_ftp.c changes a few uses of "%u.%u.%u.%u" to NIPQUAD_FMT for symmetry to NIP6_FMT Signed-off-by: Joe Perches <joe@perches.com> Signed-off-by: David S. 2006-01-07[IPV6]: Move nextheader offset to the IP6CBPatrick McHardy
Move nextheader offset to the IP6CB to make it possible to pass a packet to ip6_input_finish multiple times and have it skip already parsed headers. As a nice side effect this gets rid of the manual hopopts skipping in ip6_input_finish. Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
2005-08-29[NET]: use __read_mostly on kmem_cache_t , DEFINE_SNMP_STAT pointersEric Dumazet
This patch puts mostly read only data in the right section (read_mostly), to help sharing of these data between CPUS without memory ping pongs. On one of my production machine, tcp_statistics was sitting in a heavily modified cache line, so *every* SNMP update had to force a reload. 2005-06-20[IPSEC]: Add xfrm_init_stateHerbert Xu
This patch adds xfrm_init_state which is simply a wrapper that calls xfrm_get_type and subsequently x->type->init_state. It also gets rid of the unused args argument. Abstracting it out allows us to add common initialisation code, e.g., to set family-specific flags. The add_time setting in xfrm_user.c was deleted because it's already set by xfrm_state_alloc. 2005-04-16Linux-2.6.12-rc2v2.6.12-rc2Linus Torvalds
Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
