2022-04-27ASoC: atmel: Remove system clock tree configuration for at91sam9g20ekMark Brown
[ Upstream commit c775cbf62ed4911e4f0f23880f01815753123690 ] The MCLK of the WM8731 on the AT91SAM9G20-EK board is connected to the PCK0 output of the SoC, intended in the reference software to be supplied using PLLB and programmed to 12MHz. As originally written for use with a board file the audio driver was responsible for configuring the entire tree but in the conversion to the common clock framework the registration of the named pck0 and pllb clocks was removed so the driver has failed to instantiate ever since. Since the WM8731 driver has had support for managing a MCLK provided via the common clock framework for some time we can simply drop all the clock management code from the machine driver other than configuration of the sysclk rate, the CODEC driver still respects that configuration from the machine driver. [ Upstream commit 6c5c659dfe3f02e08054a6c20019e3886618b512 ] On a config (such as arch/sh/) which does not set HAS_DMA when MMU is not set, several ATMEL ASoC drivers select symbols that cause kconfig warnings. There is one "depends on HAS_DMA" which is no longer needed. Dropping it eliminates the kconfig warnings and still builds with no problems reported. With the latest rework, the logic to do this in a safe way avoiding link errors was removed, bringing back link errors that were fixed long ago in commit 061981ff8cc8 ("ASoC: atmel: properly select dma driver state") such as sound/soc/atmel/atmel_ssc_dai.o: In function `atmel_ssc_set_audio': atmel_ssc_dai.c:(.text+0xac): undefined reference to `atmel_pcm_pdc_platform_register' Fix it this time using Makefile hacks and a comment to prevent this from accidentally getting removed again rather than Kconfig hacks. 2019-09-18ASoC: atmel_ssc_dai: Remove wrong spinlock usageGregory CLEMENT
A potential bug was reported in the email "[BUG] atmel_ssc_dai: a possible sleep-in-atomic bug in atmel_ssc_shutdown"[1] Indeed in the function atmel_ssc_shutdown() free_irq() was called in a critical section protected by spinlock. However this spinlock is only used in atmel_ssc_shutdown() and atmel_ssc_startup() functions. After further analysis, it occurred that the call to these function are already protected by mutex used on the calling functions. Then we can remove the spinlock which will fix this bug as a side effect. 2019-08-20ASoC: mchp-i2s-mcc: Fix simultaneous capture and playback in master modeCodrin Ciubotariu
This controller supports capture and playback running at the same time, with the limitation that both capture and playback must be configured the same way (sample rate, sample format, number of channels, etc). For this, we have to assure that the configuration registers look the same when capture and playback are initiated. This patch fixes a bug in which the controller is in master mode and the hw_params() callback fails for the second audio stream. The fail occurs because the divisors are calculated after comparing the configuration registers for capture and playback. The fix consists in calculating the divisors before comparing the configuration registers. BCLK and LRC are then configured and started only if the controller is not already running. In other words, there are some components which are different but have same of_node/name. In such case, Card driver definitely need to select Platform even though it is same as CPU. It is depends on CPU driver, but is difficult to know it from Card driver. This patch reverts above patch.
