2025-08-20selftests: net: bpf_offload: print loaded programs on mismatchHangbin Liu
The test sometimes fails due to an unexpected number of loaded programs. e.g FAIL: 2 BPF programs loaded, expected 1 File "/usr/libexec/kselftests/net/./bpf_offload.py", line 940, in <module> progs = bpftool_prog_list(expected=1) File "/usr/libexec/kselftests/net/./bpf_offload.py", line 187, in bpftool_prog_list fail(True, "%d BPF programs loaded, expected %d" % File "/usr/libexec/kselftests/net/./bpf_offload.py", line 89, in fail tb = "".join(traceback.extract_stack().format()) However, the logs do not show which programs were actually loaded, making it difficult to debug the failure. Add printing of the loaded programs when a mismatch is detected to help troubleshoot such errors. The list is printed on a new line to avoid breaking the current log format. 2025-03-06selftests: net: bpf_offload: add 'libbpf_global' to ignored mapsJakub Kicinski
After installing pahole on the CI image we have a new map created by libbpf. Ignore it otherwise we see: Exception: Time out waiting for map counts to stabilize want 2, have 3 Acked-by: Stanislav Fomichev <sdf@fomichev.me> Link: https://patch.msgid.link/20250304233204.1139251-2-kuba@kernel.org Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org>

2025-01-29selftests/net: Add test for loading devbound XDP program in generic modeToke Høiland-Jørgensen
Add a test to bpf_offload.py for loading a devbound XDP program in generic mode, checking that it fails correctly. 2024-11-18selftests: net: add more info to error in bpf_offloadJakub Kicinski
bpf_offload caught a spurious warning in TC recently, but the error message did not provide enough information to know what the problem is: FAIL: Found 'netdevsim' in command output, leaky extack? Add the extack to the output: FAIL: Unexpected command output, leaky extack? ('netdevsim', 'Warning: Filter with specified priority/protocol not found.') 2024-04-10selftests: net: reuse common code in bpf_offloadJakub Kicinski
net/lib/py/nsim.py already contains the most useful parts of the netdevsim wrapper classes. Reuse them. 2024-04-10selftests: net: declare section names for bpf_offloadJakub Kicinski
Non-ancient ip (iproute2-5.15.0, libbpf 0.7.0) refuses to load the sample with maps because we don't generate BTF: libbpf: BTF is required, but is missing or corrupted. ERROR: opening BPF object file failed Enable BTF by adding -g to clang flags. With that done neither of the programs load: libbpf: prog 'func': error relocating .BTF.ext function info: -22 libbpf: prog 'func': failed to relocate calls: -22 libbpf: failed to load object 'ksft-net-drv/net/sample_ret0.bpf.o' Andrii explains that this is because we don't specify section names for the code. Add the section names, too. 2024-04-10selftests: net: bpf_offload: wait for mapsJakub Kicinski
Maps are removed asynchronously. Either there's a bigger delay now or the test has always been flaky. Retry waiting in the loop. 2024-04-10selftests: move bpf-offload test from bpf to netJakub Kicinski
We're building more python tests on the netdev side, and some of the classes from the venerable BPF offload tests can be reused.
