2015-04-15Revert "dm: tegra: Enable driver model for serial"Marcel Ziswiler
Migrating our BSPs towards mainline U-Boot I noticed it suddenly booting slower. With mainline Linux I noticed about a 1 to 2 second increase while booting downstream L4T takes 10 to 15 seconds longer! This reverts commit 858530a8c0a7ce7e573e513934804a00d6676813. 2015-03-04dm: tegra: Enable driver model in SPL and adjust the GPIO driverSimon Glass
Use the full driver model GPIO and serial drivers in SPL now that these are supported. Since device tree is not available they will use platform data. 2015-03-04ARM: tegra: move common config defines centrallyStephen Warren
All boards need CONFIG_BOARD_EARLY_INIT_F, and many actively need CONFIG_BOARD_LATE_INIT. Move both of these into tegra-common.h so that board config headers don't need to repeatedly define them. Later commits will add new code in board_late_init() which applies to all boards, so CONFIG_BOARD_LATE_INIT should be enabled for all Tegra boards. 2014-12-18ARM: tegra: Enable non-cached memoryThierry Reding
Some boards, most notably those with a PCIe ethernet NIC, require this to avoid cache coherency problems. Since the option adds very little code and overhead enable it across all Tegra generations. Other drivers may also start supporting this functionality at some point, so enabling it now will automatically reap the benefits later on. 2014-12-11dm: i2c: tegra: Convert to driver modelSimon Glass
This converts all Tegra boards over to use driver model for I2C. The driver is adjusted to use driver model and the following obsolete CONFIGs are removed: - CONFIG_SYS_I2C_INIT_BOARD - CONFIG_I2C_MULTI_BUS - CONFIG_SYS_MAX_I2C_BUS - CONFIG_SYS_I2C_SPEED - CONFIG_SYS_I2C This has been tested on: - trimslice (no I2C) - beaver - Jetson-TK1 It has not been tested on Tegra 114 as I don't have that board. The private libgcc is supported only on ARM, MIPS, PowerPC, SH, x86. Those architectures should "select" HAVE_PRIVATE_LIBGCC and CONFIG_USE_PRIVATE_LIBGCC should depend on it. Currently, this option is enabled on Tegra boards and x86 architecture. Move the definition from header files to Kconfig. 2014-09-10tegra: Convert tegra GPIO driver to use driver modelSimon Glass
This is an implementation of GPIOs for Tegra that uses driver model. It has been tested on trimslice and also using the new iotrace feature. The implementation uses a top-level GPIO device (which has no actual GPIOS). Under this all the banks are created as separate GPIO devices. The GPIOs are named as per the Tegra datasheet/header files: A0..A7, B0..B7, ..., Z0..Z7, AA0..AA7, etc. Since driver model is not yet available before relocation, or in SPL, a special function is provided for seaboard's SPL code. We are about to switch to Kconfig in the next commit. But there are something to get done beforehand. In Kconfig, include/generated/autoconf.h defines boolean CONFIG macros as 1. If CONFIG_API is ever to be enabled on Tegra, this define must be set, since api/api_storage.c uses it. A couple of annoyting things about CONFIG_SYS_MMC_MAX_DEVICE 1) It isn't documented in README. The same is true for a lot of similar defines used by api_storage.c. 2) It doesn't represent MAX_DEVICE but rather NUM_DEVICES, since the valid values are 0..n-1 not 0..n. 2014-03-07kbuild: add CONFIG_ prefix to USE_PRIVATE_LIBGCCMasahiro Yamada
Before this commit, USE_PRIVATE_LIBGCC was defined in arch-specific config.mk and referenced in arch/$(ARCH)/lib/Makefile. We are not happy about parsing config.mk again and again. We have to keep the same behavior with a different way. By adding "CONFIG_" prefix, this macro appears in include/autoconf.mk, include/spl-autoconf.mk. (And treating USE_PRIVATE_LIBGCC as CONFIG macro is reasonable enough.) Tegra SoC family defined USE_PRIVATE_LIBGCC as "yes" in arch/arm/cpu/arm720t/tegra*/config.mk, whereas did not define it in arch/arm/cpu/armv7/tegra*/config.mk. It means Tegra enables PRIVATE_LIBGCC only for SPL. We can describe the same behavior by adding #ifdef CONFIG_SPL_BUILD # define CONFIG_USE_PRIVATE_LIBGCC #endif to include/configs/tegra-common.h. Currently all Tegra SoCs are assumed to have 32 byte cache lines. This isn't true for Tegra114, however, which uses 4 Cortex-A15 cores and therefore uses a cache line size of 64 bytes. Rewrite the ASSERT() in arch/arm/cpu/u-boot-spl.lds to separately test image (text,data,rodata...) size, BSS size, and full footprint each against its own max, and make Tegra boards check full footprint. Also, output section mmutable is not used in SPL builds. Remove it. Finally, update README regarding the (now homogeneous) semantics of CONFIG_SPL_[BSS_]MAX_SIZE and add the new CONFIG_SPL_MAX_FOOTPRINT macro.
