Both described in the binding PWM controllers depend on supply clocks,
thus it's necessary to specify 'clocks' property in the correspondent
device tree nodes.

Pull MFD updates from Lee Jones:
"This round of updates contains a fair amount of new device support, a
couple of fixes and some refactoring. The most notable additions
include new drivers for Loongson's Security Engine, RNG and TPM, new
drivers for TI's TPS6594 Power Button and BQ257xx Charger ICs.
The rest of the set provides a return value check fix and a
refactoring to use a more modern GPIO API for the VEXPRESS sysreg
driver, the removal of a deprecated IRQ ACK function from the MC13xxx
RTC driver and a new DT binding for the aforementioned TI BQ257xx
charger.
New Support & Features:
- Add a suite of drivers for the Loongson Security Engine, including
the core controller, a Random Number Generator (RNG) and Trusted
Platform Module (TPM) support.
- Introduce support for the TI TPS6594 PMIC's power button, including
the input driver, MFD cell registration, and a system power-off
handler.
- Add comprehensive support for the TI BQ257xx series of charger ICs,
including the core MFD driver and a power supply driver for the
charger functionality.
Improvements & Fixes:
- Check the return value of devm_gpiochip_add_data() in the VEXPRESS
sysreg driver to prevent potential silent failures.
Cleanups & Refactoring:
- Add a MAINTAINERS entry for the new Loongson Security Engine
drivers.
- Convert the VEXPRESS sysreg driver to use the modern generic GPIO
chip API.
Removals:
- Remove the deprecated and unused mc13xxx_irq_ack() function from
the MC13xxx RTC, input and touchscreen drivers.

Update the main TI TWL-family binding to be self-contained and to fix
pre-existing validation errors.
To ensure future patches are bisectable, child nodes whose bindings
are in other patches (audio, keypad, usb, etc.) are now defined using
a flexible 'additionalProperties: true' pattern. This removes hard
dependencies between the MFD and subsystem bindings.
The complete dtbs_check for this binding is clean except for two
warnings originating from pre-existing bugs in the OMAP DTS files,
for which fixes have already been submitted separately [1][2].

Move several embedded controller bindings (like ChromeOS EC, Gateworks
System Controller and Kontron sl28cpld Board Management) to new
subdirectory "embedded-controller" matching their purpose.
An embedded controller (EC) is a discrete component that contains a
microcontroller (i.e. a small CPU running a small firmware without
operating system) mounted into a larger computer system running
a fully fledged operating system that needs to utilize the embedded
controller as part of its operation.
So far the EC bindings were split between "mfd" and "platform"
directory. MFD name comes from Linux, not hardware, and "platform" is a
bit too generic.
Rename Gateworks GSC and Huawei Gaokun filenames to match compatible, as
preferred for bindings.

The PWM controller on Apple's M2 Pro/Max SoCs behaves in the same way as
on previous M1 and M2 SoCs. Add its per SoC compatible.
At the same time fix the order of existing entries. The sort order logic
is having SoC numeric code families in release order, and SoCs within
each family in release order:
- t8xxx (Apple HxxP/G series, "phone"/"tablet" chips)
- t8103 (Apple H13G/M1)
- t8112 (Apple H14G/M2)
- t6xxx (Apple HxxJ series, "desktop" chips)

- t6020/t6021/t6022 (Apple H14J(S/C/D) / M2 Pro/Max/Ultra)
Note that SoCs of the t600[0-2] / t602[0-2] family share the
t6000 / t6020 compatible where the hardware is 100% compatible, which is
usually the case in this highly related set of SoCs.

The SpacemiT K1 SoC reuses the Marvell PXA910-compatible PWM controller
with one notable difference: the addition of a resets property. To make
the device tree pass schema validation (make dtbs_check W=3), this patch
updates the binding to accept spacemit,k1-pwm as a compatible string, when
used in conjunction with the fallback marvell,pxa910-pwm.
Support for the optional resets property is also added, as it is required
by the K1 integration but was not present in the original Marvell bindings.
Since the PWM reset line may be deasserted during the early bootloader
stage, making the resets property optional avoids potential
double-deassertion, which could otherwise cause flickering on displays
that use PWM for backlight control.
Additionally, this patch adjusts the required value of the #pwm-cells
property for the new compatible string:
- For "spacemit,k1-pwm", #pwm-cells must be set to 3.
- For existing Marvell compatibles, #pwm-cells remains 1.
Background of #pwm-cells change is by an ongoing community discussion
about increasing the #pwm-cells value from 1 to 3 for all Marvell PXA PWM
devices. These devices are currently the only ones whose bindings do not
pass the line index as the first argument. See [1] for further details.

Fix a shortcoming in the bindings that doesn't allow for a separate
external clock.
The AXI PWMGEN IP block has a compile option ASYNC_CLK_EN that allows
the use of an external clock for the PWM output separate from the AXI
clock that runs the peripheral.
This was missed in the original bindings and so users were writing dts
files where the one and only clock specified would be the external
clock, if there was one, incorrectly missing the separate AXI clock.
The correct bindings are that the AXI clock is always required and the
external clock is optional (must be given only when HDL compile option
ASYNC_CLK_EN=1).

Platforms can have a standardized connector/expansion slot that exposes
PWMs signals to expansion boards.
A nexus node [1] allows to remap a phandle list in a consumer node
through a connector node in a generic way. With this remapping, the
consumer node needs to know only about the nexus node. Resources behind
the nexus node are decoupled by the nexus node itself.
This is particularly useful when this consumer is described in a
device-tree overlay. Indeed, to have the exact same overlay reused with
several base systems the overlay needs to known only about the connector
is going to be applied to without any knowledge of the SoC (or the
component providing the resource) available in the system.
As an example, suppose 3 PWMs connected to a connector. The connector
PWM 0 and 2 comes from the PWM 1 and 3 of the pwm-controller1. The
connector PWM 1 comes from the PWM 4 of the pwm-controller2. An
expansion device is connected to the connector and uses the connector
PMW 1.
Nexus node support in PWM allows the following description:
soc {
soc_pwm1: pwm-controller1 {
#pwm-cells = <3>;
};
soc_pwm2: pwm-controller2 {
#pwm-cells = <3>;
};
};
connector: connector {
#pwm-cells = <3>;
pwm-map = <0 0 0 &soc_pwm1 1 0 0>,
<1 0 0 &soc_pwm2 4 0 0>,
<2 0 0 &soc_pwm1 3 0 0>;
pwm-map-mask = <0xffffffff 0x0 0x0>;
pwm-map-pass-thru = <0x0 0xffffffff 0xffffffff>;
};
expansion_device {
pwms = <&connector 1 57000 0>;
};
>From the expansion device point of view, the PWM requested is the PWM 1
available at the connector regardless of the exact PWM wired to this
connector PWM 1. Thanks to nexus node remapping described at connector
node, this PWM is the PWM 4 of the pwm-controller2.
