2025-04-15ixgbe: add .info_get extension specific for E610 devicesJedrzej Jagielski
E610 devices give possibility to show more detailed info than the previous boards. Extend reporting NVM info with following pieces: fw.mgmt.api -> version number of the API fw.mgmt.build -> identifier of the source for the FW fw.mgmt.srev -> number defining FW's security revision fw.psid.api -> version defining the format of the flash contents fw.undi.srev -> number defining OROM's security revision fw.netlist -> version of the netlist module fw.netlist.build -> first 4 bytes of the netlist hash Co-developed-by: Slawomir Mrozowicz <slawomirx.mrozowicz@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Slawomir Mrozowicz <slawomirx.mrozowicz@intel.com> Co-developed-by: Piotr Kwapulinski <piotr.kwapulinski@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Piotr Kwapulinski <piotr.kwapulinski@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Jedrzej Jagielski <jedrzej.jagielski@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Tony Nguyen <anthony.l.nguyen@intel.com>
2024-04-12devlink: add a new info version tagFei Qin
Add definition and documentation for the new generic info "board.part_number". The new one is for part number specific use, and board.id is modified to match the documentation in devlink-info. 2022-12-12net: devlink: add DEVLINK_INFO_VERSION_GENERIC_FW_BOOTLOADERVincent Mailhol
As discussed in [1], abbreviating the bootloader to "bl" might not be well understood. Instead, a bootloader technically being a firmware, name it "fw.bootloader". Add a new macro to devlink.h to formalize this new info attribute name and update the documentation. 2020-06-22devlink: Add support for board.serial_number to info_get cb.Vasundhara Volam
Board serial number is a serial number, often available in PCI *Vital Product Data*. Also, update devlink-info.rst documentation file. 2020-03-27devlink: Add macro for "fw.mgmt.api" to info_get cb.Vasundhara Volam
Add definition and documentation for the new generic info "fw.mgmt.api". This macro specifies the version of the software interfaces between driver and firmware. 2020-03-24devlink: expand the devlink-info documentationJakub Kicinski
We are having multiple review cycles with all vendors trying to implement devlink-info. Let's expand the documentation with more information about what's implemented and motivation behind this interface in an attempt to make the implementations easier. Describe what each info section is supposed to contain, and make some references to other HW interfaces (PCI caps). Document how firmware management is expected to look, to make it clear how devlink-info and devlink-flash work in concert. Name some future work. v2: - improve wording v3: - improve wording Signed-off-by: Jakub Kicinski <kuba@kernel.org> Reviewed-by: Randy Dunlap <rdunlap@infradead.org> Signed-off-by: David S. 2020-03-21devlink: promote "fw.bundle_id" to a generic info versionJacob Keller
The nfp driver uses ``fw.bundle_id`` to represent a unique identifier of the entire firmware bundle. A future change is going to introduce a similar notion in the ice driver, so promote ``fw.bundle_id`` into a generic version now. 2020-01-27devlink: add macro for "fw.roce"Vasundhara Volam
Add definition and documentation for the new generic info "fw.roce". v2: Remove board.nvm_cfg since fw.psid is similar. 2020-01-10devlink: rename devlink-info-versions.rst and add a headerJacob Keller
Rename the devlink-info-versions.rst file to a plain devlink-info.rst file. Add additional paragraphs explaining what devlink-info is for, and the expectation that drivers use the generic names where plausible. Note that drivers which use non-standard info version names ought to document these in a driver-specific info-versions.rst file.
