2025-11-19gpu/drm: panel: add support for LG LD070WX3-SL01 MIPI DSI panelSvyatoslav Ryhel
The LD070WX3 is a Color Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Display with an integral Light Emitting Diode (LED) backlight system. The matrix employs a-Si Thin Film Transistor as the active element. It is a transmissive type display operating in the normally Black mode. This TFT-LCD has 7.0 inches diagonally measured active display area with WXGA resolution (800 by 1280 pixel array). LG LD070WX3-SL01 MIPI DSI panel was treated as simple DSI panel when it is actually not and requires proper setup for correct work. Simple panel work relied on preliminary configuration done by bootloader. 2025-10-29drm: panel: add support for Synaptics TDDI series DSI panelsKaustabh Chakraborty
Synaptics TDDI (Touch/Display Integration) panels utilize a single chip for display and touch controllers. Implement a simple device driver for such panels, along with its built-in LED backlight controller, and add support for TD4101 and TD4300 panels in the driver. 2025-10-29drm/panel: Add Samsung S6E3FC2X01 DDIC with AMS641RW panelDavid Heidelberg
Add panel driver used in the OnePlus 6T. No datasheet, based mostly on EDK2 init sequence and the downstream driver. Note: This driver doesn't use previously mentioned "samsung,s6e3fc2x01" by OnePlus 6T device-tree. The reason is because DDIC itself without knowing the panel type used with it will not give the driver enough information about the panel used, as the panel cannot be autodetected. While would be more practical to support the original compatible, I would like to avoid it, to prevent confusing devs upstreaming DDICs. 2025-10-01gpu/drm: panel: Add Sharp LQ079L1SX01 panel supportSvyatoslav Ryhel
This panel requires dual-channel mode. The device accepts video-mode data on 8 lanes and will therefore need a dual-channel DSI controller. The two interfaces that make up this device need to be instantiated in the controllers that gang up to provide the dual-channel DSI host. 2024-10-31drm/panel: samsung-s6e88a0-ams427ap24: Add initial driverJakob Hauser
This initial part of the panel driver was mostly generated by the "linux-mdss-dsi-panel-driver-generator" tool [1], reading downstream Android kernel file "dsi_panel_S6E88A0_AMS427AP24_qhd_octa_video.dtsi" [2]. On top of the generic output of the tool, there were a couple of changes applied: - Added mipi_dsi_dcs_set_display_on() to function s6e88a0_ams427ap24_on(), otherwise the display does not show up. - In functions s6e88a0_ams427ap24_on() and s6e88a0_ams427ap24_off() changed DSI commands to multi context and used "accum_err" returns. - In functions s6e88a0_ams427ap24_on() and s6e88a0_ams427ap24_off() replaced msleep() by mipi_dsi_msleep(). - The function s6e88a0_ams427ap24_get_modes() was changed to make use of drm_connector_helper_get_modes_fixed(). This also required to include drm/drm_probe_helper.h. - In function s6e88a0_ams427ap24_probe() registring the regulators was changed to devm_regulator_bulk_get_const(). This required to change supplies in struct s6e88a0_ams427ap24 to a pointer. - Removed bool "prepared" from struct s6e88a0_ams427ap24 and according parts in functions s6e88a0_ams427ap24_prepare() and s6e88a0_ams427ap24_unprepare(). - Removed include <linux/of.h>, it's not needed. - Added comments to the mipi_dsi_dcs_write_seq_multi() lines in function s6e88a0_ams427ap24_on(). The Starry HX83102 based mipi panel should never have been part of the boe tv101wum-n16 driver. Discussion with Doug and Linus in V1 [1], we need a separate driver to enable the hx83102 controller. In hx83102 driver, add DSI commands as macros. So it can add some panels with same control model in the future. In the old boe-tv101wum-nl6 driver inital cmds was invoked at the end of prepare() function , and call 0x11 and 0x29 at end of inital. For himax-hx83102 driver, we move 0x11 and 0x29 cmds invoked at prepare() function. 2023-10-19drm/panel: ili9882t: Break out as separate driverCong Yang
The Starry ILI9882t-based panel should never have been part of the boe tv101wum driver, it is clearly based on the Ilitek ILI9882t display controller and if you look at the custom command sequences for the panel these clearly contain the signature Ilitek page switch (0xff) commands. The hardware has nothing in common with the other panels supported by this driver. Break this out into a separate driver and config symbol instead. If the placement here is out of convenience for using similar code, we should consider creating a helper library instead.
