Pull i2c updates from Wolfram Sang:
"The biggest news in this pull request is that it will start the last
cycle of me handling the I2C subsystem. From 7.2. on, I will pass
maintainership to Andi Shyti who has been maintaining the I2C drivers
for a while now and who has done a great job in doing so.
We will use this cycle for a hopefully smooth transition. Thanks must
go to Andi for stepping up! I will still be around for guidance.
Updates:
- generic cleanups in npcm7xx, qcom-cci, xiic and designware DT
bindings
- atr: use kzalloc_flex for alias pool allocation
- ixp4xx: convert bindings to DT schema
- ocores: use read_poll_timeout_atomic() for polling waits
- qcom-geni: skip extra TX DMA TRE for single read messages
- s3c24xx: validate SMBus block length before using it
- spacemit: refactor xfer path and add K1 PIO support
- tegra: identify DVC and VI with SoC data variants
- tegra: support SoC-specific register offsets
- xiic: switch to devres and generic fw properties
- xiic: skip input clock setup on non-OF systems
- various minor improvements in other drivers
rtl9300:
- add per-SoC callbacks and clock support for RTL9607C
- add support for new 50 kHz and 2.5 MHz bus speeds

Commit 4a2d5f663dab ("i2c: Enable compile testing for more drivers")
enabled compile testing of the Tegra i2c driver only for architectures
that explicitly provide readsX() and writesX().
This limitation appears to have been too restrictive since the generic
implementation of these primitives added by commit 9ab3a7a0d2b4
("asm-generic/io.h: Implement generic {read,write}s*()") predates the
commit in question.
Allow compile testing of the driver on all architectures.

I2C devices with associated pinctrl states (DPAUX I2C controllers)
will change pinctrl state during runtime PM. This requires taking
a mutex, so these devices cannot be marked as IRQ safe.
Add PINCTRL as dependency to avoid build errors.

The generic option for I2C target is already user selectable,
which makes the DesignWare specific option completely
unnecessary. The DesignWare option also silently selected

In the past, the i2c-elektor driver was broken on SMP. Since then, there
appear to have been some fixes and cleanup work (as pointed out by Wolfram
Sang) to get rid of cli/sti usage and rely on spinlocks instead. Therefore,
let's allow building the driver on SMP kernels again.
I've tested this driver on an SMP kernel on an Alpha UP2000+ for a few days
without any problems.

When the first driver for Apple Silicon was upstreamed we accidentally
included `default ARCH_APPLE` in its Kconfig which then spread to almost
every subsequent driver. As soon as ARCH_APPLE is set to y this will
pull in many drivers as built-ins which is not what we want.
Thus, drop `default ARCH_APPLE` from Kconfig.

It already depends on X86_32, but that's also set for ARCH=um.
Recent changes made UML no longer have IO port access since
it's not needed, but this driver uses it. Build it only for

Add support for the I2C controller on the RTL9300 SoC. There are two I2C
controllers in the RTL9300 that are part of the Ethernet switch register
block. Each of these controllers owns a SCL pin (GPIO8 for the fiorst
I2C controller, GPIO17 for the second). There are 8 possible SDA pins
(GPIO9-16) that can be assigned to either I2C controller. This
relationship is represented in the device tree with a child node for
each SDA line in use.
This is based on the openwrt implementation[1] but has been
significantly modified

The i2c-amd756-s4882 and i2c-nforce2-s4985 muxing pseudo-drivers were
written at a time when the i2c core did not support muxing. They are
essentially board-specific hacks. If we had to add support for these
boards today, we would implement it in a completely different way.
These Tyan server boards are 19 years old by now, so I very much doubt
any of these is still running today. So let's just drop this clumsy
code. If anyone really still needs this support and complains, I'll
rewrite it in a proper way on top of i2c-mux.
This also fixes the following warnings:
drivers/i2c/busses/i2c-amd756.c:286:20: warning: symbol 'amd756_smbus' was not declared. Should it be static?

Implement the i2c_algorithm operations to enable support for AMD ASF
(Alert Standard Format) with SMBus. This enhancement includes:
- Adding functionality to identify and select the supported ASF functions.
- Implementing mechanisms for registering and deregistering I2C slave
devices.
- Providing support for data transfer operations over ASF.
Additionally, include a 'select' Kconfig entry as the current patch
utilizes .reg_slave() and .unreg_slave() callbacks, which are controlled
by CONFIG_I2C_SLAVE.

The AMD ASF controller is presented to the operating system as an ACPI
device. The AMD ASF driver can use ACPI to obtain information about the
ASF controller's attributes, such as the ASF address space and interrupt
number, and to handle ASF interrupts.
Currently, the piix4 driver assumes that a specific port address is
designated for AUX operations. However, with the introduction of ASF, the
same port address may also be used by the ASF controller. Therefore, a
check needs to be added to ensure that if ASF is advertised and enabled in
ACPI, the AUX port should not be configured.
