2025-01-15bootmeth: Update the read_file() method to include a typeSimon Glass
We want to record the type of each file which is loaded. Add an new parameter for this, to the read_file() method. Update all users. Make bootmeth_common_read_file() store information about the image that is read. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Mattijs Korpershoek <mkorpershoek@baylibre.com>
2024-05-20Restore patch series "arm: dts: am62-beagleplay: Fix Beagleplay Ethernet"Tom Rini
As part of bringing the master branch back in to next, we need to allow for all of these changes to exist here. Reported-by: Jonas Karlman <jonas@kwiboo.se> Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2024-05-19Revert "Merge patch series "arm: dts: am62-beagleplay: Fix Beagleplay Ethernet""Tom Rini
When bringing in the series 'arm: dts: am62-beagleplay: Fix Beagleplay Ethernet"' I failed to notice that b4 noticed it was based on next and so took that as the base commit and merged that part of next to master. This reverts commit c8ffd1356d42223cbb8c86280a083cc3c93e6426, reversing changes made to 2ee6f3a5f7550de3599faef9704e166e5dcace35. 2024-05-06boot: Remove <common.h> and add needed includesTom Rini
Remove <common.h> from all "boot/" files and when needed add missing include files directly. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2024-04-08boot: correct the default sequence of boot methodsHeinrich Schuchardt
The default sequence of boot methods is determined by alphabetical sorting during linkage. * efi_mgr must run before efi to be UEFI compliant * pxe should run as last resort Signed-off-by: Heinrich Schuchardt <heinrich.schuchardt@canonical.com> Reviewed-by: Ilias Apalodimas <ilias.apalodimas@linaro.org>
2023-12-17bootmeth: use efi_loader interfaces instead of bootefi commandAKASHI Takahiro
Now that efi_loader subsystem provides interfaces that are equivalent with bootefi command, we can replace command invocations with APIs. Signed-off-by: AKASHI Takahiro <takahiro.akashi@linaro.org>
2023-12-13bootstd: Fix a memory leak in the efi manager bootflowIlias Apalodimas
efi_get_var() allocates memory which has to be freed after the value of the variable is consumed. 2023-01-23bootstd: Rename bootdev checkersSimon Glass
These functions return 0 if the check passes, so the names are somewhat confusing. Rename them. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2022-08-12bootstd: Allow EFI bootmgr to support an invalid bootflowSimon Glass
For most testing we don't want this bootmeth to actually do anything. For the one test where we do, add a test hook to obtain the correct behaviour. This will allow us to bind the device always, rather than just doing it for this test. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2022-08-12bootstd: Allow bootmeths to be marked as globalSimon Glass
The current way of handling things like EFI bootmgr is a bit odd, since that bootmeth handles selection of the bootdev itself. VBE needs to work the same way, so we should support it properly. Add a flag that indicates that the bootmeth is global, rather than being invoked on each bootdev. Provide a helper to read a bootflow from the bootmeth. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2022-04-25bootstd: Add an implementation of EFI bootmgrSimon Glass
Add a bootmeth driver which handles EFI boot manager, using EFI_LOADER. In effect, this provides the same functionality as the 'bootefi bootmgr' command and shares the same code. But the interface into it is via a bootmeth, so it does not require any special scripts, etc. For now this requires the 'bootefi' command be enabled. Future work may tidy this up so that it can be used without CONFIG_CMDLINE being enabled. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
