When bringing in the series 'arm: dts: am62-beagleplay: Fix Beagleplay
Ethernet"' I failed to notice that b4 noticed it was based on next and
so took that as the base commit and merged that part of next to master.
This reverts commit c8ffd1356d42223cbb8c86280a083cc3c93e6426, reversing
changes made to 2ee6f3a5f7550de3599faef9704e166e5dcace35.

On the Renesas RZ/G2L SoC family, valid GPIO numbers are not contiguous.
This is determined by the device tree, where a fixed number of bits are
used for the 'pin' number within a 'port', even though not all ports
have the same number of pins. The device tree can't be changed here
without breaking backwards compatibility in Linux, which we don't want
to do.
To avoid printing a status for each of these invalid GPIO numbers when
a user executes `gpio status -a`, we allow gpio_get_function() to return
-ENOENT when the given offset does not refer to a valid GPIO pin and we
skip printing anything if this occurs.

There are a few commands that iterate uclass with
uclass_first_device/uclass_next_device or the _err variant.
Use the _check class iterator variant to get devices that fail to probe
as well, and print the status.

As explained in commit 4af2a33ee5b9 ("cmd: gpio: Make `gpio input`
return pin value again") the `gpio input` is used in scripts to obtain
the value of a pin, despite the fact that CMD_RET_FAILURE is
indistinguishable from a valid pin value.
To be able to detect failures and properly use the value of a GPIO in
scripts we introduce the `gpio read` command that sets the variable
`name` to the value of the pin. Return code of the `gpio read` command
can be used to check for CMD_RET_SUCCESS or CMD_RET_FAILURE.
CONFIG_CMD_GPIO_READ is used to enable the `gpio read` command.

We should not use typedefs in U-Boot. They cannot be used as forward
declarations which means that header files must include the full header to
access them.
Drop the typedef and rename the struct to remove the _s suffix which is
now not useful.
This requires quite a few header-file additions.

4dbc107f4683 ("cmd: gpio: Correct do_gpio() return value") correctly
changed the behaviour of the gpio command to return CMD_RET_SUCCESS or
CMD_RET_FAILURE, but any existing script which expects the return value
to be the pin value is broken by this change.
Reinstate the legacy behaviour for `gpio input` only.

Use the correct return value in function do_gpio() and update
commands documentation with the return values from command_ret_t enum.
CMD_RET_SUCCESS is returned on command success and CMD_RET_FAILURE is
returned on command failure.
The command was returning the pin value, which caused confusion when
debugging (#define DEBUG).

At present dm/device.h includes the linux-compatible features. This
requires including linux/compat.h which in turn includes a lot of headers.
One of these is malloc.h which we thus end up including in every file in
U-Boot. Apart from the inefficiency of this, it is problematic for sandbox
which needs to use the system malloc() in some files.
Move the compatibility features into a separate header file.

At present devres.h is included in all files that include dm.h but few
make use of it. Also this pulls in linux/compat which adds several more
headers. Drop the automatic inclusion and require files to include devres
themselves. This provides a good indication of which files use devres.

Allow the 'gpio' command to match GPIO bank names regardless of the case
of each. While these are generally in upper case, it is useful to be able
to provide lower case with the command.

At present the gpio command only shows GPIOs which are marked as in use.
This makes sense with 'gpio status' since we already have the '-a' flag
to indicate that all GPIOs should be shown. But when a particular GPIO is
requested, it seems better to always display it. At present the request is
simply ignored.
For example if GPIO a10 is not in use, then:
> gpio status a10
shows nothing, not even the function being used for that GPIO. With this
change, it shows the pin status:
> gpio status a10
a10: input: 0 [ ]
Add an extra parameter for this to avoid changing the existing flag
parameter.

At present this file uses GPIO_OUTPUT and GPIO_INPUT as its sub-command
values. These are pretty generic names. Add a 'C' suffix to avoid possible
conflicts.
