2025-12-16dt-bindings: Updates Linus Walleij's mail addressLinus Walleij
My name is stamped into maintainership for a big slew of DT bindings. Now that it is changing, switch it over to my kernel.org mail address, which will hopefully be stable for the rest of my life. 2025-08-16dt-bindings: iio: light: Simplify interrupts property in the exampleKrzysztof Kozlowski
dynaimage,al3010 and dynaimage,al3320a are I2C devices, so their interrupts are not routed to GIC and rarely first interrupt cell is <0>. This looks like copy-paste from some SoC block, so drop it and also for readability use known defines instead of hard-coding interrupt flag. 2025-04-22dt-bindings: iio: light: bh1750: Add reset-gpios propertySergio Perez
Some BH1750 sensors require a hardware reset via GPIO before they can be properly detected on the I2C bus. Add a new reset-gpios property to the binding to support this functionality. The reset-gpios property allows specifying a GPIO that will be toggled during driver initialization to reset the sensor. 2024-08-03dt-bindings: iio: light: ltrf216a: Document LTR-308 supportMarek Vasut
Document LiteOn LTR-308 support in LTR-F216A bindings. The two devices seem to have almost identical register map, except that the LTR-308 does not have three CLEAR_DATA registers, which are unused by this driver. Furthermore, LTR-308 and LTR-F216A use different lux calculation constants, 0.6 and 0.45 respectively. https://optoelectronics.liteon.com/upload/download/DS86-2016-0027/LTR-308ALS_Final_%20DS_V1%201.pdf https://optoelectronics.liteon.com/upload/download/DS86-2019-0016/LTR-F216A_Final_DS_V1.4.PDF Signed-off-by: Marek Vasut <marex@denx.de> Acked-by: Krzysztof Kozlowski <krzysztof.kozlowski@linaro.org> Link: https://patch.msgid.link/20240708114227.18283-1-marex@denx.de Signed-off-by: Jonathan Cameron <Jonathan.Cameron@huawei.com>
2024-08-03dt-bindings: iio: BU27034 => BU27034ANUCMatti Vaittinen
The BU27034NUC was cancelled before it entered mass production. It was replaced by a new variant BU27034ANUC (note, added 'A'). The new variant gained a few significant changes, like removal of the 3.rd data channel and dropping some of the gain settings. This means that, from software point of view these ICs are incompatible. Lux calculation based on the data from the sensors needs to be done differently, and on the BU27034ANUC the channel 3 data is missing. Also, the gain setting differencies matter. Unfortunately, the identification register was not changed so there is no safe way for the software to distinguish the variants. According to the ROHM HQ engineers, the old BU27034NUC should not be encountered in the wild. Hence it makes sense to remove the support for the old BU27034NUC and add support for the new BU27034ANUC. Change the compatible in order to not load the incompatible old driver for new sensor (or, if someone had the old sensor, the new driver for it). Drop the compatible for old sensor which should not be in the wild and add a new compatible for the new model with accurate model suffix 'anuc'. Rename the file to match the new compatible. 2021-03-23dt-bindings: Clean-up undocumented compatible stringsRob Herring
Adding checks for undocumented compatible strings reveals a bunch of warnings in the DT binding examples. Fix the cases which are typos, just a mismatch between the schema and the example, or aren't documented at all. In a couple of cases, fixing the compatible revealed some schema errors which are fixed. There's a bunch of others remaining after this which have bindings, but those aren't converted to schema yet. 2020-12-18dt-bindings: Fix JSON pointersRob Herring
The correct syntax for JSON pointers begins with a '/' after the '#'. Without a '/', the string should be interpreted as a subschema identifier. The jsonschema module currently doesn't handle subschema identifiers and incorrectly allows JSON pointers to begin without a '/'. Let's fix this before it becomes a problem when jsonschema module is fixed. I'm not sure anyone would use this part primarily as an ALS, given the time of flight laser also present, but I'll stick with the original decision on where to put the binding. Added interrupts property as the device has a GPIO interrupt even if the driver is not currently using it. Only significant change in here was dropping the statement that the i2c address should be 60. The datasheet suggests there are variants available with several different addresses. I don't have an up to date address for Adriana Reus so I've put myself as the binding maintainer for this one. I'm happy to hand over to Adriana or anyone else who wants take it on!
