2024-01-29treewide: Remove clk_freeSean Anderson
This function is a no-op. Remove it. Signed-off-by: Sean Anderson <seanga2@gmail.com> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20231216193843.2463779-3-seanga2@gmail.com
2023-12-15clk: treewide: switch to clock dump from clk_opsIgor Prusov
Switch to using new dump operation in clock provider drivers instead of overriding soc_clk_dump. 2023-10-24mips: Remove common.h usageTom Rini
We can remove common.h from most cases of the code here, and only a few places need an additional header instead. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2023-08-31event: Use an event to replace last_stage_init()Simon Glass
Add a new event which handles this function. Convert existing use of the function to use the new event instead. Make sure that EVENT is enabled by affected boards, by selecting it from the LAST_STAGE_INIT option. For x86, enable it by default since all boards need it. For controlcenterdc, inline the get_tpm() function and make sure the event is not built in SPL. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2023-08-31event: Convert existing spy records to simpleSimon Glass
Very few of the existing event-spy records use the arguments they are passed. Update them to use a simple spy instead, to simplify the code. Where an adaptor function is currently used, remove it where possible. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2023-05-11dm: Emit the arch_cpu_init_dm() even only before relocationSimon Glass
The original function was only called once, before relocation. The new one is called again after relocation. This was not the intent of the original call. Fix this by renaming and updating the calling logic. With this, chromebook_link64 makes it through SPL. 2022-03-10event: Convert arch_cpu_init_dm() to use eventsSimon Glass
Instead of a special function, send an event after driver model is inited and adjust the boards which use this function. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2021-02-02common: Drop asm/global_data.h from common headerSimon Glass
Move this out of the common header and include it only where needed. In a number of cases this requires adding "struct udevice;" to avoid adding another large header or in other cases replacing / adding missing header files that had been pulled in, very indirectly. Finally, we have a few cases where we did not need to include <asm/global_data.h> at all, so remove that include. 2020-05-18common: Drop init.h from common headerSimon Glass
Move this uncommon header out of the common header. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
2020-02-05dm: core: Create a new header file for 'compat' featuresSimon Glass
At present dm/device.h includes the linux-compatible features. This requires including linux/compat.h which in turn includes a lot of headers. One of these is malloc.h which we thus end up including in every file in U-Boot. Apart from the inefficiency of this, it is problematic for sandbox which needs to use the system malloc() in some files. Move the compatibility features into a separate header file. 2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag and have introduced one. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2017-04-13board_f: Rename initdram() to dram_init()Simon Glass
This allows us to use the same DRAM init function on all archs. Add a dummy function for arc, which does not use DRAM init here. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> [trini: Dummy function on nios2] Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
2017-04-05board_f: Drop return value from initdram()Simon Glass
At present we cannot use this function as an init sequence call without a wrapper, since it returns the RAM size. Adjust it to set the RAM size in global_data instead, and return 0 on success. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Stefan Roese <sr@denx.de>
2017-04-05board_f: Drop board_type parameter from initdram()Simon Glass
It looks like only cm5200 and tqm8xx use this feature, so we don't really need it in generic code. Drop it and have the users access gd->board_type directly. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Stefan Roese <sr@denx.de>
2016-06-19clk: convert API to match reset/mailbox styleStephen Warren
The following changes are made to the clock API: * The concept of "clocks" and "peripheral clocks" are unified; each clock provider now implements a single set of clocks. This provides a simpler conceptual interface to clients, and better aligns with device tree clock bindings. * Clocks are now identified with a single "struct clk", rather than requiring clients to store the clock provider device and clock identity values separately. For simple clock consumers, this isolates clients from internal details of the clock API. * clk.h is split so it only contains the client/consumer API, whereas clk-uclass.h contains the provider API. This aligns with the recently added reset and mailbox APIs. * clk_ops .of_xlate(), .request(), and .free() are added so providers can customize these operations if needed. This also aligns with the recently added reset and mailbox APIs. * clk_disable() is added. * All users of the current clock APIs are updated. * Sandbox clock tests are updated to exercise clock lookup via DT, and clock enable/disable. * rkclk_get_clk() is removed and replaced with standard APIs. Buildman shows no clock-related errors for any board for which buildman can download a toolchain. test/py passes for sandbox (which invokes the dm clk test amongst others).
