this part of the build, but as a follow-up we need to rename
doc/develop/spl.rst and expand on explaining things a bit.

It is confusing to have both "$(PHASE_)" and "$(XPL_)" be used in our
Makefiles as part of the macros to determine when to do something in our
Makefiles based on what phase of the build we are in. For consistency,
bring this down to a single macro and use "$(PHASE_)" only.

The existing QEMU implementation mostly ignored BLOBLIST_TABLES and
allocates the bulk of the tables with malloc(). Update it to place all
tables in the bloblist. Since QEMU declares a size of 128KB regardless
of the size of its tables, this requires a larger bloblist.
Fix up the e820 table to handle this, keeping the old code as an option
for now, to assist with any future bug-fixing.

QEMU likes to have an MTRR set up, just like real machines. Add an MTRR
which covers the total RAM size.
This does nothing on machines without MTRRs.

BSS is placed in DRAM which is actually available early with QEMU. But
it is cleared by the init sequence, so values stored there are lost.
Move the system-type flag into a function, instead.

Most of the copies of the print_cpuinfo() call the default method.
Remove all of those in order to have only the default one when
no `cpu` command is compiled.
This also helps avoiding compiler warning, e.g.:

When bringing in the series 'arm: dts: am62-beagleplay: Fix Beagleplay
Ethernet"' I failed to notice that b4 noticed it was based on next and
so took that as the base commit and merged that part of next to master.
This reverts commit c8ffd1356d42223cbb8c86280a083cc3c93e6426, reversing
changes made to 2ee6f3a5f7550de3599faef9704e166e5dcace35.

This follows the example of RISC-V where <asm/global_data.h> includes
<asm/u-boot.h> directly as "gd" includes a reference to bd_info already
and so the first must include the second anyhow. We then remove
<asm/u-boot.h> from all of the places which include references to "gd"
an so have <asm/global_data.h> already.

board_get_usable_ram_top() returns a physical address that is stored in
gd->ram_top. The return type of the function should be phys_addr_t like the
current type of gd->ram_top.

Unfortunately the bochs driver does not currently work with distros.
It causes a hang between grub menu selection and the OS displaying
something.
Preliminary investigation shows that GRUB does not jump to the kernel
at all.
This reproduces reliably.

Call the hardware-init function from QEMU from SPL. This allows the
video BIOS to operate correctly.
Create an x86-wide qemu.h header to avoid having to #ifdef the header
in spl.c

This is more convenient since it does not require a video BIOS. Enable
it for QEMU.
Also drop use of video in SPL for the 64-bit QEMU, since it not needed
now.

Commit 37dc958947ed ("global_data.h: Change ram_top type to phys_addr_t")
changed type of ram_top member from ulong to phys_addr_t but did not
changed types in board_get_usable_ram_top() function which returns value
for ram_top.
So change ulong to phys_addr_t type also in board_get_usable_ram_top()
signature and implementations.

We move qfw into its own uclass and split the PIO functions into a
specific driver for that uclass. The PIO driver is selected in the
qemu-x86 board config (this covers x86 and x86_64).
include/qfw.h is cleaned up and documentation added.

Move this out of the common header and include it only where needed. In
a number of cases this requires adding "struct udevice;" to avoid adding
another large header or in other cases replacing / adding missing header
files that had been pulled in, very indirectly. Finally, we have a few
cases where we did not need to include <asm/global_data.h> at all, so
remove that include.

At present dm/device.h includes the linux-compatible features. This
requires including linux/compat.h which in turn includes a lot of headers.
One of these is malloc.h which we thus end up including in every file in
U-Boot. Apart from the inefficiency of this, it is problematic for sandbox
which needs to use the system malloc() in some files.
Move the compatibility features into a separate header file.

This file contains lots of internal details about the environment. Most
code can include env.h instead, calling the functions there as needed.
Rename this file and add a comment at the top to indicate its internal
nature.

This declaration is only used in three files. Although it relates to
malloc() it is actually only used during malloc() init. It uses CONFIG
options including CONFIG_ENV_ADDR which are defined only in environment.h
so this header must be included anyway, for TOTAL_MALLOC_LEN to be
correct.
Nove it to environment.h to simplify the common file.

When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and
there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the
area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it
with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the
Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first
line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line)
and with slightly different comment styles than us.
In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility
and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style.
This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared
license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag
contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag
and have introduced one.

that line "just in case" during development and never dropped it.

ROM has been made read-only in qemu recently (namely commit 208fa0e4:
"pc: make 'pc.rom' readonly when machine has PCI enabled"). So this
patch restores compatibility between U-Boot and qemu.

At present we support multiple environment drivers but there is not way to
select between them at run time. Also settings related to the position and
size of the environment area are global (i.e. apply to all locations).
Until these limitations are removed we cannot really support more than one
environment location. Adjust the location to be a choice so that only one
can be selected. By default the environment is 'nowhere', meaning that the
environment exists only in memory and cannot be saved.
Also expand the help for the 'nowhere' option and move it to the top since
it is the default.

After MMC is converted to DM, convert to use DM SCSI as well for all
x86 boards and imply BLK for both MMC and SCSI drivers.
CONFIG_SCSI_DEV_LIST is no longer used. Clean them up.
