2025-11-28xtensa: Assure end of U-Boot is at 8-byte aligned offsetMarek Vasut
Make sure the end of U-Boot is at 8-byte aligned offset, not 4-byte aligned offset. This allows safely appending DT at the end of U-Boot with the guarantee that the DT will be at 8-byte aligned offset. This 8-byte alignment is now checked by newer libfdt 1.7.2 . 2024-05-06global: Make <asm/global_data.h> include <asm/u-boot.h>Tom Rini
This follows the example of RISC-V where <asm/global_data.h> includes <asm/u-boot.h> directly as "gd" includes a reference to bd_info already and so the first must include the second anyhow. 2022-06-23linker_lists: Rename sections to remove . prefixAndrew Scull
Rename the sections used to implement linker lists so they begin with '__u_boot_list' rather than '.u_boot_list'. The double underscore at the start is still distinct from the single underscore used by the symbol names. Having a '.' in the section names conflicts with clang's ASAN instrumentation which tries to add redzones between the linker list elements, causing expected accesses to fail. However, clang doesn't try to add redzones to user sections, which are names with all alphanumeric and underscore characters. All architectures have the same definition for s8/16/32/64 and u8/16/32/64. Factor out the duplicated code into <asm-generic/int-ll64.h>. BTW, Linux unified the kernel space definition into int-ll64.h a few years ago as you see in Linux commit 0c79a8e29b5f ("asm/types.h: Remove include/asm-generic/int-l64.h"). 2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. Unlike Linux, nothing about errno.h is arch-specific in U-Boot. As you see, all of arch/${ARCH}/include/asm/errno.h is just a wrapper of <asm-generic/errno.h>. Actually, U-Boot does not export headers to user-space, so we just have to care about the consistency in the U-Boot tree. Now all of include directives for <asm/errno.h> are gone.
